Climbed from 15 to 8 in wild with Mech Hunter and Mech Pally... only doing quests and farming for the 1.000 wins portrait. Then switched to Secret Mage, which is a nice change from all those mechs. First world problem: I'm at 800 wins with mage, but I also got the Medivh skin 3 years ago. I'm not sure if I even want to use the alternate Jaina skin once I get it.
I often do something different for the community. Whenever I am at about Rank 5 and get matched with a player at R6 I instantly concede because I know how valuable this win is for them.
Thanks once again for the great guide! I'm interested in the Rainbow's End Path: would it be possible to create a spells-only deck around it? Like 40% freeze, 40% burn, 20% heal or something? Will probably try out the game this afternoon, really looking forward to it :-)
Very nice of you to try and help me and hopefully other people getting started. Thanks again!
Ressources management sounds like something you have to experience to fully grasp it, but your explanation was helpful nevertheless. So two more follow up questions which already came to my mind reading your initial post:
1) Can gems only be generated by burning cards or are there other ways to obtain them? Is mana growing by turn from 1 to 10 like in Hearthstone?
2) From what I gathered from the FAQ on the Mythgard homepage, burning cards results in a) getting gems and b) drawing another card while shuffling the burnt one back in your deck, thus compensating for not being able to mulligan at the start of the game. Is that correct? And what exactly can be done with burnt cards which are drawn again? I asume they can't be burnt a second time, but played if you have the ressources to do so?
Thank you very much for your efforts! I read your suggestion to add a section for Mythgard yesterday and looked it up. I will sure try it out once I find the time to do so. It looks more complex than Hearthstone but f2p friendly at the same time and with great art. I also like the setting a lot.
Maybe this will become my new guilty pleasure :D Hearthstone has become a little stale since I've reached legend for the first time, but I'm reluctant to leave it because of the money I put in over the years. Maybe I'll main Mythgard and play some wild Hearthstone from time to time...
If you don't mind, would you please elaborate further about the factions (colours)? Are they related to archetypes or something? Why is it you shouldn't mix more than two or three in a deck? Thanks again for the overview!
Warlock has Nemsy. I'm very fond of her and she is still easy to get.
I am also very much disappointed in the use of the old voicelines which is definitely just lazy. Anduin is boring af with or without the 1000 wins.
Yeah, but I was talking about myself. I don't have Nemsy, so the 1000-win portrait was a warm welcome. I definitely agree with you about the old voicelines part, I was also quite disappointed hearing the same old stuff all over again, but I don't expect to see any changes in this regard. I think that the community may encourage Blizzard to change Rexxar's portrait. I have a strong feeling, that the latter thing will happen in the nearest future.
Oh please let that happen. Have you any information about other forums or pages and the reactions of the playerbase there? Or any other base for your feeling? I would be really surprised if they changed the portrait, but they were more responsive for some time now. Still, this is a lot to ask. *fingers crossed*
Wow. By far the worst letdown in a while... I was so looking forward to these skins and then this. I have hunter at 820 wins but using this new portrait would be almost embarrassing. My second best class is mage with 800, but I bought the Medivh skin three years ago which is just straight out better. Also: Jainas cleavage now is so flat, it looks in wrong proportion to her shoulders. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t care about sexyness in a card game, but this is neither consistent with the standard portrait nor with the mentioned proportions. Her shoulders seem to be a lot wider than the rest of her upper body half. No new voice lines? That’s just lazy
Blizzard should have known that these portraits are of paramount importance for long time players and still fucked up. I’m back to farming golden portraits.
I’m sorry guys but I hate this card. The goal of the game is to outsmart the opponent. I don’t want an algorithm to come to his aid with a perfect answer to my game without a) him doing anything to “earn” that and b) me having any chance whatsoever to prevent him from doing that. This is the one an only card that can really be labeled “unfair”
Well, the hype got me. I really like the new cards and unfortunately, a lot of the legendaries look appealing to me. I have will only have around 5k dust when the expansion hits and no dust left, so I guess I'll get myself a preorder. What also got me thinking were many people here stating the opinion that Uldum has the highest power level since K&C, so having most of the cards seems important to keep up with the meta.
Dear lord, please stop creating those irresistable decks! If the Lucentbark / Mogu Cultist combo works, I'll end up having to craft Lucentbark to play this deck. Sigh.
I'm no dev and I figure that if it is actually possible, this is a pretty huge wish, but I wanted to ask nevertheless: can we please have autocorrect for the card links? I'm not sure, but I think they're called tooltips... I'm talking about these: Wisp. The issue is, that I'm often not sure how to spell a card, like where was the apostrophe in Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound again? So I usually open a second tab and search for the card I want to link to look up the correct spelling (this comes with huge pain on mobile). I would love to cut this problem by having an autocorrect feature implemented which gives me some suggestions as soon as I type something between the two [card] pieces, like, I say "rage" and autocorrect says "Y'shaarj, rage unbound", "feral rage", "battle rage", etc.. Pretty please? :-)
Sure, a 2/1 taunt isn't that impressive, but when I play the Betrug / Plot Twist Combo I want to a) clear the board and b) leave something behind for the next turn. Achieving b) is difficult, because in standard you are somewhat limited in your card choices... I'm currently running Cairne Bloodhoof, Mechanical Whelp and Safeguard. Bone Wraith struck me as a good idea because it helps protect Betrug and is a good card if you get under pressure before the combo is ready.
Of course you're still right about the overall competitiveness of the deck. It lacks some more control tools and a clear win condition. I tried to compensate by adding the portal demon package but that feels wrong. Let's hope for some support!
I'm sure as hell not going to use that disenchant duplicates button for this expansion. This looks seriously op.

This, but on all ranked floors.

Thank you for contributing these articles every week. They are my favorite part of OOC at the moment!

Thx flux!
Thanks for the reminder, I'll start a run now :)
I didn't receive it either, assuming you're talking about our conversation. Please fix this!
Don't tell me you'd prefer typing out "Y'Shaarj, rage unbound" to just "Shaa" and then clicking on the wanted text ;-)

I didn't know there was a solution for that issue and strongly support the request. That would improve the mobile experience sooooooooo much!
Really cool idea to add the "card balance and changes" section! Thanks!
