  • How many cards from that expansion are there?

    In reply to Jeffrey Shyy
  • I want this card so badly. But please upgrade it to 30/30 "attacks enemies until none are left".

  • Thanks for the give away! I like the idea to grant entries for voting.

The card discussion though... the forum is flooded with comments right now, but nobody speaks to one another. It's mostly "I like the flavor but I doubt it will see play because of x". People care about those entries but they don't interact with each other. I really hope this will get better once everybody has gotten all their tickets.

  • I earned my 100th win as priest yesterday. I was playing Kovachuts Thief Priest on rank 5 in wild against an all golden Thief Rogue with the 1.000 wins portrait. We duelled way over half an hour. My opponent played Academic Espionage into an empty deck, I slammed down Archbishop Benedictus really early. The battle was raging back and forth, but I was able to save up both copies of Seance for N'Zoth, the Corruptor and Amara, Warden of Hope. It was a really close call and I want to thank my fellow thief for this experience if you should happen to read this.

  • "Alone I'm quite fearsome" - a highlander card

"but doubled I'm more than tripled" - the card summons another minion. If you get to duplicate it (in hand), you end up with 4 minions, which is more than 3x the original one

    "a mighty shout" - a battlecry minion

    I say Dinotamer Brann.

    Really nice poem, well done!

  • I'm just happy to see legendarys with low mana cost. It definitely looks interesting. I predict a tier 2/3 halfway competitiv Dragon Paladin deck with this and Nozdormu the Timeless. Looks like fun, will give it a try if I pull one or both out of my packs :-) still missing Brightwing though...

  • Played some more games with Bomb Warrior and it seems to be viable. Beat Tempo Rogue, Highlander Hunter, Evolve Shaman. Lost a game to Highlander Mage because of bad draw and a huge misplay (opponent got out Pocket Galaxy and produced a huge swing turn with Alex and Kalecgos. I was stupid enough to run my Brawl into their Counterspell). Really enjoyed the deck :-)

Also: how great is the deathwing hero skin?? Great animation, great voice, great emotes! Easy one of my top 3 favorite skins

  • Has anybody tried out Bomb Warrior in the current meta? Played a game with it yesterday for a quest and ran straight into a highlander hunter :-) armor and removal might be good against shaman, priest and rogue and the bombs flat out counter highlander hunter and paladin (also maybe quest druid because of them drawing so much?)... maybe I'll give it an earnest try tonight.

  • Vicious Syndicate published the Wild Data Reaper Report #20:

    https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/wild-vs-data-reaper-report-20/

    Here's their tier list:

    T1:
Odd Rogue, Aluneth Mage, Odd Paladin, Mech Paladin, Sn1p-Sn4p Warlock, Even Shaman

    T2:
    Reno Mage

    T3:
Murloc Shaman, Reno Warlock, Mech Hunter, Reno Shaman

    T4:
Reno Hunter, Reno Priest, Quest Shaman, Big Priest, Thief Rogue

As I already stated in the pepper thread, I am still surprised of the low amount of Sn1p-locks between rank 15 and 5. VS blames that on the high skill cap of that deck while also mentioning that it's pretty much unbeatable in the right hands. What also matches my experience are the huge numbers of aluneth mages swarming said ranks. It's a pity that warrior has no really competetive deck right now, when they just got an awesome new hero skin :/ Let's hope for a strong standard deck with the arrival of DoD.

The big surprises for me are Odd Rogue and Evolve Shaman. I can't remember playing against a single Odd Rogue this month, but according to VS it sits right there on top of T1. They go even further with Evolve Shaman, which they don't have enough data for to place it in the regular tier list, but strongly support the claim the deck is T0.

What are your experiences? Do you agree with the provided data and the following conclusions?

  • Joined the wild only a few months ago, having fun with Kovachuts Thief Priest. When Blizzard anounced the 1.000 wins portraits, I started grinding with Mech Hunter. Then I realized that I was equally close (around 800 wins) with mage and decided to give Secret Mage a try. Long story short: Reached rank 5 in wild for the first time and once I teched in one copy of Eater of Secrets it wasn't even hard. Rewarded myself with a mega bundle preorder  and will now proceed to farming wins with hunter, mage and paladin taking turns with thief priest :-)

  • For me, it depends on the decks I play.

Druid: Malfurion, but Elise for Quest

Hunter: Rexxar (grinding for 1k, less than 150 to go)

Mage: Medivh (less than 200 till 1k, no idea what to do then)

    Paladin: Uther or Arthas

Priest: Anduin (would be willing to pay for Lazul for my thief deck!)

Rogue: Maiev, but would switch to Valeera if I ever got to 1.000

Shaman: Thrall, but Morrgl for Murloc decks

Warlock: Gul'dan, but Mecha Jaraxxus in Zoo Decks (don't like Nemsy)

Warrior: Garrosh, but will switch to Deathwing soon :-)

  • Looks cool! And since zoo lock is traditionally strong during the first days of a new expansion when everybody's trying out the new stuff, it probably will even be competitive, at least for a while.

  • Nice approach with the auctioneer there! This built looks interesting too. Have you considered adding questing adventurer as a second Edwin? I'm so looking forward to trying out Galakrond :)

  • There are no more invoke cards to throw in (other than a second Shield of Galakrond) for now. Deadly Poison is a good idea though, I might add that. Finally, there is no Questing Explorer, but a Questing Adventurer in the list for obvious reasons (0 mana cards and lackeys).

As I already mentioned, the point of the deck is to abuse Galakronds and Togwaggles battlecrys. I know trying to get high cost cards off those effects is risky, but that's why I followed RandomGuys advice and put in Waxadred and Siamat which are good on their own. Colossus is the only liability left, since Malygos is an additional win condition. Somewhere between all those big guys, questing adventurer and edwin people will run out of answers, even if Maly doesn't get reduced to 0 mana.

Thanks for throwing deadly poison in there!

  • Ah, my bad. Took out Ragnaros for Waxadred, I forgot about him. You're also right about Living Monument, I put in Siamat instead. Inconsistency sure is a problem, but I'd like to stick to the game plan of drawing high value cards for free with Togwaggle and Galakrond for now. If it's not consistent, at least it should be fun! :)

    Thanks for the feedback!

  • Put together my first ideas for a Galakrond Rogue deck. I know we're still missing most of the new cards, but what do you think about it so far? (Guide included)

    Deck ID Not Found

  • You're right, I got a little overconfident there. What I meant was that after playing Myra's and hopefully filling our board with waxadreds, our deck may be empty but every killed waxadred shuffles another Candle in our deck which resummons a waxadred. So we technically suffer one fatigue per turn but otherwise go infinite, while Nomi only fills the board only once.

  • Definitely the strongest Galakrond card so far. Also makes Heistbaron Togwaggle way more consistent. Those two might provide a buildaround on their own: early game is lackeys and the usual tempo package while constantly invoking Galakrond, then go Togwaggle or Galakrond around turn 7 and draw some heavy minions like Colossus of the Moon, Living Monument, Big Bad Archmage (or rag in wild). The hero power and Umbral Skulker can also lead to a huge edwin. So all in all this looks really powerful!

  • Really nice for DR Rogue, I hope I'll get this card. Might also try it out in wild.

And then there's meme potential galore in there: play Waxadred, trigger its deathrattle as often as possible with Necrium Blade and Necrium Vial (prep says hi), Shadow of Death it for good measure and then hit Myra's Unstable Element. Should end up with a Chef Nomi like board state without having to worry about fatigue, the only hard counter being Plague of Death.

  • I like the mech tag. Probably too slow for wild, but it could help giving standard mech hunter another shot.
