I like your general idea and the lore behind it, please make sure to add that to the description textbox! The wording seems a bit off, I suggest sticking to the usual "that died this game" term or even reducing it to "that died this turn" to tune down the power level a bit. That's my second gripe: the card is too cheap for what it does, even as a legendary. Hadronox players would love this, but I advocate for changing the cost or the text as mentioned above.

I like your card, but I don't really understand why you used "they" instead of "it" (…may attack again). 4 stars for now, might go to 5 after I've seen the rest of the field. I also do hope things are looking a little brighter on your side and wish you all the best.

Cool idea! I agree with everything that Wailor had to say.

I'm sorry but I'm not a big fan. The art doesn't look very hearthstone-y and the effect gives me PTSD from Big Priest shenanigans. If you choose to go with this, you should change the wording to "on your side" and try to avoid the single word in the last line.

I like it! Please add the info you gave to the descirption box as well, specially the part about the Tentacles was clear to me at first glance but makes a whole lot of sense.

Hmmm… my first thought is: Can a minion that is dormant lose stats? Maybe I'm missing something but I'm a little confused. I do like the versatility though, as ayou can also target your own stuff to set up a combo turn. Last but not least, for us non-WoW-players a little explanation about the connection between the violet hold and this being a Priest card would be cool, because from a HS point of view I see purple / violet, I think "Arcane" = "Mage".

All of them look incredibly cool art-wise. I'd discard the Shaman one because I don't think anything will ever make that archetype work. Between Druid and Priest it's a close call, but if in doubt go with the more innovative idea which is defintely Priest. Nice work!

The Frozen Throne is very iconic, so great flavor here. I fear it's nearly impossible to balance though, because there's a high chance for a low roll and the card is way too expansive for that. Making it too cheap is also dangerous for the possible outcome, so I really don't know what to do here. I'm also part of the crew that is not happy with the word "graveyard". Orgrimmar gets lots of points for flavor as well. My gripe with that one is that locations aren't supposed to work like minions so this feels a little off. What might solve this is giving a friendly minion Taunt and whenever it takes damage, the location loses durability instead.

  • Late to the party due to RL stuff and successfully grinding Warlock to 1.000 wins before Discolock got nerfed (yay!), but I actually had a nice idea:

I'd very much like this to be neutral but I'd be open to change it if you think that would be better. Some late feedback would be very appreciated!

  • There was a discussion among the devs on twitter about this. I can dig it out and send it to you on Discord if you like to know the details.

If I remember correctly, the reasoning was something along these lines: lore-wise, The Purator and The Curator are not Mechs, but someone accidently used a ... garment? gear? on The Purator's art that makes it a Mech so they had to backpedal.

  • I don't play Duels but the last line of the riddle would fit Kingsbane very well.

  • Congrats to Demon!

I disagree with you in this case linkblade. The two of you do us all a service by organising these competitions, but that doesn't change that you're still regular competitors and should earn the big prize if you can accumulate enough wins.

  • There are more characters already in the game than I'd have thought. Heigan has an interesting ability according to Wowpedia though, so here's my first idea:

  • A card that got nerfed from Kobolds that I remember playing quite a lot myself was Possessed Lackey. Man, what a cool set that was. The power level was completely through the roof, many of the cards are still staples in Wild to this day.

  • Congrats to Demon!

  • Three clear favorites for me this week with the Vampire, Necroman-sea and Anon Anarth. Awesome design all three of them, I hope one will take the win! Good luck everybody :))

  • Congrats to BloodMefist and above all: all the best wishes for you, linkblade. I fear I can only echo what Wailor has said and send positive thoughts, but please let me know if there's anything we can do to support you. Sending a hug as well, if you want one.

  • Good luck to the finalists. Sigh.

  • I'm stupid and submitted my card in a hurry, so I forgot to point out how the art compliments the effect: The hand on the left side channels green (Fel) magic to fuel the skull spell that emerges from the other hand. I thought I'd at least post this here so people can take this into consideration when voting.

All in all I'm super happy about the final outcome, thanks to everybody who encouraged me to drop the highlander condition for something more interesting. This was a fun and educating experience.

    Some final feedback:

Now I like your card even more :) Windlord's Blessing misses a period at the end of its text.

    Wailor
I actually prefer the first version, I generally tend to value more simple approaches over the complicated effects. The power level might be a concern here since you could potentially roll 5 Huffers on turn 10… I could live with that though. If anything a small Cost raise to 6 would probably take care of that. Hunter isn't exactly stacked with useful 1 Mana spells either and you might have to play some of them before Rexxar comes down.

  • First of all thanks again to Demon and linkblade for hosting the competitions! We really appreciate it <3

From my point of view, the changes to the competitions have been for the better. I don't mind the smaller group of finalists and the addition of the textboxes to the finalist voting behind spoilers was a very cool idea. Participation seems to be fine and one of my personal gripes of finalist cards receiving very low ratings is no longer an issue as well - almost all the finalists receive a rating of 3+. Great work!

One new (?) idea I'd like to contribute is adding a preview site or window to the submission form. That way it would be easier to work around spelling or formatting errors (yes, I've misspelled a card's name in my textbox for this week's entry because I was in a hurry).

  • More feedback, as promised.

Contrary to linkblade, I actually prefer Valeera. I don't really like changing spell schools and minion tribes because I imagine it being hard to implement into the game and potentially confusing for players. That said, Valeera looks like a really fun addition to the Thief archetype. Easy 4 stars from me!

    Demonxz95
The new Jaina looks very cool on its own, I'd love to play with it. The card would need a dedicated set to come out with though, because it doesn't fit the usual Mage flavor very well imo. You can always go with a custom expansion of course, but in this case I'd probably suggest to go alternate timeline: What if KotFT's legendary Hero cards would have been minions instead? CursedParrot aso has made a good point with their dual-class suggestion, I think I'd like that as well. All in all, I can't even tell which card I prefer. Thrall is the more conservative approach and has received positive feedback. Jaina is more creative which has a lot of merit on its own. For me personally, both are 5 stars contenders.

    BlooMefist
Garrosh is a potential winner card in my books. Very well done!

    AeroJulwin
I second what the others have said. Solid card!

    Dolphinslayer
I'm with linkblade here: The third version is my favorite, but you should adjust the stats.

  • I just randomly stumbled into this guide and all I can say is WOW! What a cool guide and what a cool deck! Thank you very much for writing this for us!

  • Since a certain someone mentioned that the Highlander condition on my Gul'dan card might be a little too boring, I'd like to hear your thoughts on this alternative version. Will give more feedback about 9 hours from now!

  • I had an arguably better idea than Valeera:

Probably want to go with this, look at this beautiful art piece! Do you think I should zoom in on the character a little more? Maybe find a shorter name?

  • Of course it does. How embarrassing.

(I've never actually played the Jailor)

  • First round of feedback

    linkblade91
I really like the general direction but I'm not sure if you're quite there yet. Destroying your own stuff isn't very mage-y, so maybe you could build upon your teleportation idea? "Shuffle all other friendly minions into your deck. Summon a 3/6 Water Elemental for each of them." might do the trick. I do also harbour some worries about the power level of the card at 4 Mana though, even if I agree that it would be very cool to keep the stat line.

    Demonxz95
I don't think people will look kindly on adding Heros to another class than their own this week, so I'd recommend not using Jaina even if her effect is quite interesting and fits the Frost rune DK very well. Thrall on the other hand is a simple, flavorful and strong design. Thumps up from me! Maaaaaybe buff it to 5 Mana so the value of the card really jumps into your face?

    Wailor
Nice one, you win this time. Both cards look solid, but I think Jaina is a little more powerful and more interesting. What I don't like about the card is the formating of the text box… I'd try to the squeeze the Battlecry into one line somheow.

    BasilAnguis
Defintely my favorite card so far, perfect flavor and power level. Creative, iconic, strong but not OP, I love it. Are you sure there shouldn't be a comma at the end of the first line on Neptulon's and Rag's card as well?

    Neoguli
Anduin looks way more interesting to me, but you'll have to explain why he's a dual class card for WoW noobs like me. He might also proof to be too strong in a Taunt heavy deck, so you could consider raising his Cost or changing the effect to the adjacent minions being Elusive I guess.
