Still think Equality was extreamly overnerfed at 4 mana.. think they should readjust Equality to 3.. just cause it was done such an injustice to the iconic card..
justice demands retribution!
Anyway strong card dunno already every class gets INSANE cards this expansion.. so much for not powercreeping as much.
play 2 Sorcerer's Apprentice (4 mana) + Potion of Illusion (2 mana) + 3 1 cost 1/1s (3 mana) in total 9 mana. then you should have 2 fireballs from last turn or any 4 or less cost spell and you spam fireballs.
while that sounds plausible you have to consider that:
a) Mage doesn't really draw as well as it once used to
b) any combo Mage is vulnerable to being bursted down since no more Ice Block (the main reason no real combo deck has been a thing for a while
c) you're talking about a 7-card combo that needs at least 2 turns of set up: one for the Adventurer (the easier one) and one for the Antonidas one, which is essentially skipping a turn and leaving yourself open (which is extremely hard to do in the current meta seeing how even slamming down Alexstrasza is a chore these days)
Also, I don't get why you think Sorcerer's Apprentice is the issue. Mage has always been about discounting spells and throwing out lots of them. Archmage Antonidas is the real culprit because he provides infinite damage. Rework Antonidas (or replace him like Velen) and you won't have to worry about Exodia MAge in Standard ever again.
a) they added a new draw card last expansion, they still can draw from other sources.. mage has decent draw options.. yeah I know Acolyte of Pain is gone.
b) still have a lot of freeze.. that's why combo decks normally have 45% average win rate..
c) the secound path (the one with the apprentices.. let's you cast Frost Nova and some other cheap spells while setting up so that way you don't skip your turn as much.
discounts are the problem not antonidas whenever a class is problematic mana cheating are the problem.
antonidas is a balanced card without the ability to discount spells.
With Potion of Illusion as long as your opponent doesn't silence/steal this card you are immune to fatigue and get infinite value from the other copied cards
This is just the right cost to prevent exodia mage from going off. Phew! Or have I missed something?
There gotta be a combo someday with this though!
nope, just need one coin and it's there, and guess what? you can generate the coin with Licensed Adventurer, you don't even need to run the terrible quest just run side quests.
[Hearthstone Card (archivist elesyanna) Not Found] was ran.. and nerfed.. sure this needs to die and at least can be silenced but.. damn he counters fatigue quite good.
If control/fatigue decks are a thing this card will be highly considered in those decks.
This card is insane WTF for 2 mana you get the best stats on board? if you play buffs this gets also buffed, and it can match the opponent's best minion (AKA punishing enemy buffs)

Hunter have no aoe spells, and not many damage spells are currently ran in standard, but this card is a reason to go that direction so.. We need to wait and see if this gets enough support.
Hunters get AOE spells from time to time, it’s just usually stuff that hits 2 or 3 minions.
Its hard to say how good this card actually is though, because there’s a good few small pings Hunter gets with its spells that were never quite good enough to run, and this makes them a lot better
That's what I meant, hunter doesn't really have full board aoe spells the only ones he has are Explosive Trap and Deathstalker Rexxar one is wild and one will NEVER trigger with this card on board unless your opponent has negative iq.
sure it makes most spell viable but this card is not enough to ditch the dragon package hunter currently uses and that package has one damage spell.
TBH after reviewing all the cards and seeing all the package as a whole this seems like galakround shaman all over again I agree with AngryShuckle... the enablers are good cards, and the payoff cards are TOO GOOD it's quite obvious to me this will become quite oppressive and will be nerfed.. they could made some generators have some cost to them instead of this being "extra" like they did back then with bomb warrior which was balanced.. those cards are insane and will be too much.

The class has synergy for this kind of effects with cards like Warglaives of Azzinoth or "if you attacked this turn do X" but you can get a similar effect for 2 mana and no requirement with Twin Slice, I don't see this card as the reason to run soul fragments in DH it's more of a card that will be there.. the reason to run soul fragments is the 3 mana Duskbreaker.
Outside of a combo I can't see this card seeing play so there's either an OTK that this card enables or it's pointless.

Shadow Word: Pain Kappa.

Freeze shaman was a bad meme.
basically Frostbolt for 1 mana but can't target face with combo requirement you are 99% of the time want to fulfill.
Tempo mage is gonna love this.. in rogue.. nah.
This card is must have in every spell based shaman or druid.. the power level of this expansion is off the charts.
even a 2 mana spell makes this minion insane for it's cost.

5/5
OTK enabler -> need The Coin or any discount on a combo piece that is a minion or [Hearthstone Card (potion of illusions) Not Found]
there are 2 ways both require a set up turn and an execution turn.. in wild it's even easier cause of [Hearthstone Card (emperor thaurisan) Not Found]
6 cards OTK The Coin, Archmage Antonidas, 2 Sorcerer's Apprentice, 2 [Hearthstone Card (potion of illusions) Not Found].
In standard you can get the coin via Licensed Adventurer (just play Elemental Allies without elementals in your deck).
So it's 8 slots in the deck to have the combo in your deck.
Path 1:
Setup:
play Archmage Antonidas +The Coin + Potion of Illusion
Execution:
play 2 Sorcerer's Apprentice (4 mana) + Potion of Illusion (2 mana) + 3 1 cost 1/1s (3 mana) in total 9 mana. then you should have 2 fireballs from last turn or any 4 or less cost spell and you spam fireballs.
Path 2:
Setup:
play 2 Sorcerer's Apprentice (4 mana) and double Potion of Illusion (4 mana) = 8 mana
Execution(order is important if you don't have another 4 cost or less spell):
play Archmage Antonidas + The Coin + 4 1 cost Sorcerer's Apprentice, then blast away..
In conclusion:
HOF Sorcerer's Apprentice already.

Seems great in quest or control shaman.. Well basically.. Any shaman deck it's just solid even without the second effect.
great statline and 3 damage? wow this is insane actually and all you need to do is play decent cards? I am in.
reminds me of Blastmaster Boom, only much faster (in terms of board control).
if soul fragment decks see play this IS in the deck.. probably day 1 craft for me.
Has a lot of synergy in the class also with the help of the hero power hits the 5 hp breakpoint to kill most 4/5 drops.
might even see play without other soul fragment cards as it's 8 damage over 2 turns.
