It never existed a tier 1 deck with 15+ dragon in it, if i remember correctly.
the decks that played the highest number of dragon and were quite strong were tempo dragon warrior and tempo dragon priest (called simply dragon priest) they didn't reach at all 15+ dragons and plus these dragons where good in a tempo deck specifically (the 3/6 with taunt for 4 mana, the 2/3 for 1 mama for priest, the non-dragon 2/4 taunt for 2 mana for priest). Those decks played like 10 to 12 dragons
Then basically existed only dragon priest, with two versions, one combo (inner fire) and one control, both played from 7 to 8 dragons.
I remember specifically (played a lot of control dragon priest) that trying to run more dragons just to make the "having a dragon in hand" requirement more consistent did make the deck a lot worse, so I'm sceptical that running a ridicolous amount of dragons is a good thing per se
Nonetheless, there is no way in the world that this card is worth just 1/5.
Even without the Battlecry, it would be a 2/5 at the very least.
With the Battlecry, it is at least a 3/5, up to 4/5 on paper.
I think this card is being slightly overestimated.
It dies against 3x 4/4, which is not an exceedingly big board.
In other words, it really shines when the board to clear is just fair - because DW would clear and survive, generating an enormous Tempo swing.
But if you need a full-blown board clear (against a serious board), this DW may whiff harder than its original iteration, while Warrior has safer options.
- at this point the opponent is forced to remove it (soft taunt), because of the risk of facing a 12/8 on next turn, turn-4.
Not to mention Dire Frenzy or similar efficient cloners. Or, as others said, the bare fact that a 3-3/4 Beast is still a nice play.
This card may not be OP, it might be just a Beast deck stuff, but this is by far NOT a meme.
It's like, if a card has OTK potential, then it is only valued in OTK terms, and the rest is overlooked...
This card has no direct downside, not even Tempo loss.
Cause Nightmare Amalgam is played in hunter decks just for the stats.. a 6/4 for 4(cause you are floating mana) is nothing spectacular this card is bad and I will have every epic I open this expansion be this card.
1) Amalgam is no meme card indeed.
2) Raven has a better upside than Amalgam in Hunter (so far).
My point was exactly this: this Raven is not the meme everyone thinks it is.
Real issue with this card is: are you really going to tech up for it?
Atm no Armor class looks particularly broken.
Viable, but i don't see the point.
This card is in check, as long as Priest doesn't get Play Dead.
Might be fairly good.
But a hammer in Hunter makes no sense whatsoever.
Well, good to know!
I thought his official identity was still a mystery.
Waitamoment...
Kazakus is a blue dragon?!?
I thought he was a Black or Twilight Dragon!
Or, you know, you draw Plague, they draw whatever card...?
I said "nasty", not "perfect".
I said "some Midrange deck", not "whatever deck".
Nasty anti-Aggro tool.
But probably only some Midrange decks will actually use it.
Cheaper version of doomsayer.
The fact it can be dropped on (1) is HUGE.
Comparable to Zombie Chow. But better.
This card is actually insane, as it covers a blind spot of classes without AoE, at least during the first turns.

I start having a bad feeling for this set...
What's the point of so much powercreep?!?
I do like the idea of more Dragon decks, but was this card necessary?
At just (4)? With full vanilla body?
As if mana discounts weren't already obviously flawed (ie Wild)...
PS: should have been a Highlander card.
1) Amalgam is no meme card indeed.

Counter to Bad Luck Albatross too, for Highlander Rogue.
Dragon enabler at best.
The Dragon condition keeps this spell in check.
Solid inclusion in Dragon Mage ofc, but not necessarily OP.
Staple in all my non-Even decks.
PS: i love the fact that Renolock can actually counter this with Plot Twist.
Inkmaster Solia cries in a corner.
This card alone enable Dragon Mage.
Mutate says hi.
You drop a higher cost Battlecry for (5), and then evo it for bigger body.
