The thing is that the majority of big priest players don't visit any forums because they most likely don't know how to read. So good luck getting an answer from them.

    Lol.

As i akready wrote tons of times, i am pretty sure the main traits loved by BP players are:

    1) extreme abuse of synergies, to the point of the feeling of cheating.

2)connected to #1, knowing you are playing a deck that upsets people: it's like trolling in a forum.

3)almost no decision making in key moves: the player is never really responsible of their losses. Highroll is.

If one likes BP, they like at least one of the above traits, more probably all of them. None of them is virtuous. All of them are toxic. Even in Wild.

None of the above justifies the deck staying at average winrates.

ALL of the above are normally the definition of MEME DECK (t4 in the very best case).

  • Should rename the class into "Necromancer".

  • Weapons Project + Harrison Jones exists already, but is hardly seen in the meta.

It will be no different for this card.

  • I unlocked my golden cards, so i'm good.

As much as i'm curious, the contribution of each player is next to nothing in terms of percentage.

And it's not like the cards won't be released otherwise.

  • Been enjoying casting DevolveMass DispelPolymorph on it/them.

I have yet to lose a game against it.

  • Why? Warlock is part of EVIL: Arch-Villain Rafaam.

  • In Wild, outclassed by Open the Waygate.

Even if you can complete this new Quest fast enough, the reward is just too slow and unreliable for Wild purposes.

And even in Standard, putting it in its most favourable environment, Miracle Mage, will just translate into a winmore card, since it won't cover any weak spot.

  • This is definitely interesting fuel for Floop's Glorious Gloop

At least in Standard. I doubt they can be(eee!!!) consistent/fast enough for Wild tho.

    But i'm going to try.

  • Finally we found what scared Addled Grizzly and it was not those silly tentackes: it was a swarm of angry BEEEES!!!

Flaourwise, this is the combo of the year.

  • Standard ensures that in the very worst case people will be given new toys to play with, even if equal to some old cards: Standard players miss those old cards and will play with their new iterations, as if they were new design.

Anyway, i think combinations are so many that reaching saturation will take a while.

Finally, they can always push for the powercreep and powerlevel to renew both Standard and Wild.

All in all, i think it's easier that we get bored of the game as a whole, rather than of card design.

  • At the end of the day, it's just a matter of theme, and these cross-class themes are not necessarily good cards, ie schemes.

So non-evil classes are not really left behind, just given different theme.

  • Old decks in Wild is bound to disperse in time.

Because Wild meta decks will slowly but constantly evolve away from their "old" form, or even disappear entirely.

I think that point is quite dead already tbh.

PS: they don't even need to destroy the archetype. They just need to make it so bad as to be nearly unplayable for meta purposes. That is, shrink it back to meme tier, where it belongs.

  • I am not sure i can stand any more of their BS about Big Priest.

It's ridiculous how they do not notice or purposedly ignore the fact the deck is so broken as to be toxic for the fun in Wild.

  • It's not worse than Mecha'thun Warlock. They can kill you before turn-10, and you can do nothing except trying and killing them first.

Tbh, i also think Archmage Vargoth is broken, but because of Big Priest, not in Quest Mage, where he's just a winmore card in most cases.

    Thanks for the write up.
Feels like if you don't draw pyro with some cheap spells early on, it's pretty much a lost game. Especiall against Aggro.

Almost. Northshire Cleric is pretty nice to stall against Aggro, especially if you adjust the deck including also Extra Arms.

If their summons are perfect, it's pretty hard to win.

But not impossible: hold your burst power as much as possible, freeze with Ray while rushing for the Quest.

Once the Quest is ready, gather more burst, while paying attention not to wait too much.

The window is narrow, and not easy to spot, but it is there, and Miracle Mage owns tons of burst.

PS: you can include Archmage Vargoth for triple turn (and increased burst).

What do you do about an Obsidian Statue though? Do you kill that before you go in. Do you kill it while going in and risk losing a Sorcerer's Apprentice or Flamewaker?

Not a fan of Archmage Vargoth since it seems pretty dead in many occasions.

You can wait to kill it during burst, and try to use several minions minions together on the board and/or if you are holding enough burst no matter what (eg. Ice Lance & co).

Mirror Image can be included both against Aggro, and Obsidian/Ragnaros.

Ultimately, you can also include Polymorph: Boar which can also be used on your own minions for burst, whenever you don't need it to deny dangerous bodies.

  • Faster than people think.

Even and Odd decks have been consistently top tier, and only really require 1x legendary and few epics. And Miracle Mage too btw.

Aggro Druid and Mech Hunter are even cheaper.

Problems come when you want to play Renodecks or Combo decks: those are expensive, and are much harder to play.

But do count in the fact that an investment in Wild stays forever available to play.

  • I would never use such an option, especially on release opening, when i still need to learn cards.

Also, i like the thrill of unveiling cards.

  • 1 month to new expansion, i would hold any dust for now.

None of the two options you mentioned look like good dust investments right now.
