Players who have an active Arena run when expansion launches will have their current run retired and will receive an Arena Ticket as compensation (plus any reward for current number of wins for that run).
Play out your run to x-2 (x wins and max. 2 losses) if you want more rewards from your run, or just leave it at 0-0 if you dont want to bother playing.
Friendly Neighborhood Gladiator: if you do plan on leaving your run at 0-0, you might as well start two games and concede to two players, getting some positive karma :) You will get the identical rewards for 0-0 and 0-2 score.
FAQ
Q: When should I start my run to receive a free Arena Ticket for a retired run?
A: Ideally several hours before the expansion launch, arena entries are generally closed few hours prior.
Q: Where are my rewards for the retired run? I opened my arena rewards but didn't get any pack or gold/dust.
A: This is a known bug, arena rewards are actually awarded to you once you finish your last arena game, before you open up the reward boxes. When an arena reset happens, it gets even more confusing because this happens on log in; sometimes you have to restart the game.
People often see (1) pack in their inventory, don't think much about it, open it and then go collect arena rewards only to find out they didn't get anything. But the fact is, that (1) pack on log in was actually the one from the retired arena run. Same with gold/dust, it was already added to your account even before you opened the arena rewards. You didn't lose anything.
Edit: This issue shoudl be fixed now, but i will leave it here regardless.
With the finalist phase approching pretty soon what card do you think should win and why
(please dont say your own)
I like Mark of Dalaran, Amalgamate and Nicky, the Retriever. These three look like they could be real treasures and provide a meaningful gameplay/strategy. The Last Lantern is nice flavor, but it would be probably hard to get it trigger. The rest is kinda meh for me, too strong or too gimmicky. Not saying i dont like gimmicks for PVE content, but these feel just weird. Personal opinion tho.
About a day left to submit, dont miss out! It is a kinda hard prompt, i wont lie, but i am liking what im seeing, some really great ideas! Good job so far :)
The downside of her is that you have to pay 4 mana each turn, if you are ahead, you can surely just close out games with her, but if you have a bad early or your opponent managed to reset the board or get ahead, you will struggle to be able to use her effectively.
Me too. I really wish that was a viable combo in practice, but at 3 HP/ea they both are just way to easy to kill, and at 4/5 mana they are too expensive to YOLO it.
Would be cool if it was a future card, i mean it might be, even if they havent planned it yet. I do love that different cards have relations with each other in art and voice lines, pretty cool!
"Shiraza is a great girlfriend--I mean friend--and we are in no way dating. But if we were, I would like her to know that I wish her a happy anniversary. Thank you, no more questions."
"He said what?! That man has bricks for brains. Can't fault those shoulders, though..."
Lol bye bye mechs, removing all divine shields but Cobalt, as if they werent underwhelming already at this point. Now they r going to be borderline unplayable.
Looking forward to dragons tho. They look like they r going to be pretty strong in their first itteration for sure :)
Just accept that Barrier negates damage after it has been dealt, and everything falls into place for this and many other interactions (such as Overwhelm).
You're still getting the champion (and can get it instantly by just starting the Expedition and then surrendering it) but you have the option for some Expedition fun as well.
That's missing a crucial piece of the puzzle, though: You're limited to 3 expedition rewards per week. With the previous version of the vault, you would've been able to score a guaranteed 4 champions per week (presupposing that you're able to afford the 3 expedition runs without the free token). Now it's just 3.
While that might be worse for hard grinders and ppl who can perform well in expeditions consistently, it is way more "casual" friendly. You still get your champ, and you also get a free entry to the expedition, so you are not required to cough up 9k shards to be able to play the mode for free for the rest of the week, but "just" 6k. Honestly, average player might even struggle to do 2 expeditions per week time/shard wise, so having one free entry is pretty good.
Second Arena rotation for Descent of Dragons is coming on March 4.

Q: Do Arena Tickets stack?
A: Yes. (proof)
Q: Do Arena Tickets expire?
A: No.

Looking very interesting.

She is one of the more unique champs for sure.
Definitely a non-issue. Way too big card pool to be consistent.
Could work with hand buffs maybe :)
Moo!
Ninja changes like this are simply not acceptable. Period.
Giving the card back retroactively to ppl who already bough Khadgar in the past is a nice touch.
That is a pretty nice card back!

Love Kato The Arm and Shiraza the Blade especially. So cute :D And look at the flavor texts:
"Shiraza is a great girlfriend--I mean friend--and we are in no way dating. But if we were, I would like her to know that I wish her a happy anniversary. Thank you, no more questions."

Oh yeah, nice catch! Blue ez in LOR idd, hilarious.
I refuse to accept that, it is a stupid design :p

Is it just me or are the pictures not showing? Probably bad host?
Moo :D
There is actually so many cards i will miss from those 3 expansions, it were honestly great sets looking back.
Congratulations to Shivershine, our first WCDC winner!
Simple and elegant design, it seems ppl can appretiate that 😉
