I think the best scenario would be: they let you convert the changed cards into wild cards ... you dont get to keep the cards and get wild cards, but you would get an option to get something else. I think that would be pretty fair for both sides.
That being said, i dont think they will refund at all, since they are comitted to do an update every two weeks, that would potentially be a lot of "free" stuff. Not that it would be that bad to give that out, but given how they do updates in LOL, as already said, they dont just outright make things unplayable, they try to find a balance and they are not affraid to buff it right back if need to.
I think Shark Chariot is kinda the same as The Undying. You invest mana into reoccuring attack power with no defensive capabilities. So the answer is either 1) Kill it before it kills you or 2) Purify it.
I think the strongest cards are never combo cards because they are inconsistent. Yes, Butcher + Keeper combo is strong as hell, but needs 2 distinct cards in your opening hand to work.
For single cards, I'd say Elise is the strongest by far. 2 mana 2/3 fearsome summon a 1/1. Still a good deal even if she dies to the first trade. And the potential to snowball with level up. 10/10
I think guys talked about this on Discord today, if you Purify Shark Chariot, it comes back anyway, since the card is restored to default status in graveyard > has its text back.
you don't go to the store silly, you go to your collection, select "show unowned" and then you can craft any card you like
Legendaries cost 3000 for example (although that amount of shards is better spent on expeditions tbh)
This. Or even if you own the card but want additional copies. Just right click on the card you want to craft. While you're there: click on the eye at the bottom right: you'll see the card's full artwork, which is usually really cool but so big that the card face only has room from a small cropped version. (My personal fav is Shark Chariot: did you know there's actually 3 sharks, and they're pulling Hecarim along?)
I would also argue that buying a specific Legendary could be better than buying an Expedition run and getting a random Legendary. All depends on your situation: how good you are at Expeditions, what constructed decks you want to play, what's in your existing collection, etc.
Getting an Expedition entry instead of a Legendary is really good when you're just trying to grow your collection, since the Legendary will cost you less than 3000 shards guaranteed. Ofc if you want a specific one, crafting it is probably going to be the best (not counting wild cards)
I mean the fact that you die first from a resolved spell before your opponent dies from your board makes sense mechanically, but thinking about it, it is a shitty mechanic in its core.
I guess this is more about the back and forth action trading, but yet another example of a loss you can sustian from a commanding lead on the board. I dont know if i like this.
Okay so I just played an open expedition and I've come to the conclusion that this is actually a great way to earn a lot of experience and/or to try out crazy stuff you would normally be too hesitant to try out in expeditions.
In my run I picked almost every poro card I was offered and I ended up with a deck with 5x Mighty Poros, 5x poro snax and 3x iceborn legacy to buff my mighty poros even more. I had some crazy games, got to 4 wins, and gained 900xp next to the normal amount of xp you get after each expedition game. So if you're in dire need of more xp, I'd definitely suggest playing some open expeditions.
So you need to have enough to enter three times, then you can farm up xp, right? I might be able to do that next week after i get my token from the vault. I can then lvl up some regions via expeditions, sounds like a plan! :)
Skills of followers are the "play, strike, attack" cards that affects the opponent. Effects like draw a card doesn't affect the opponent so they are not skills.
You can see more cards that i didn't write here. Skills affect the opponent player so you can easily identify a card with a skill if it does something to the opponent like deal damage, destroy a unit, obliterate etc.
Aha! I was wondering why "draw 1" didnt have the "play" keyword.
Also, pity timer of the sets does not work with them
Pretty sure ppl reported it did work, so the pity timers are in fact tied to the type of pack, not a set itself, which makes sense ... Golden Classic pack has a separate one outside of regular Classic packs too (if there is any at all for it, but this latest blunder would suggest there actually might be).
I get that and i agree it would have been pretty cool to have it as a brawl reward, but then you would see posts about how unfair it was that someone got the legendary from the 1st pack and others didnt and how now they are "forced" to buy the bundle otherwise they cant get to the pity timer and so on and so on, ppl always find a way to complain about everything :D or maybe im just a pessimist :)
Maybe they are testing the waters how will players like a pack like this, they can then create different combinations down the road.
Tho that being said, they are mostly only good for new players (which is good) and to get your guaranteed legendary in first 10 packs. If you are a regular player, chances are you would rather get packs from the newest expansions, since whatever else is in a "year pack" you might already have, or at least it would be more than regular chance on a duplicate.
So in the end, while really a cool design, we are not losing that much here by not having them in the shop.
I totally agree that they could be doing more in the terms of exposure, having an arena ticket be a quest reward, similar to a Classic Pack, has been suggested for the longest time, but i also like your idea of having it in the season chest reward.
And while i would LOVE to have something similar to ranked season chest for arena, the problem is, that the top arena players would farm ridiculous amounts of rewards from such system, which to be honest, those players wouldnt probably even need, but i think that is what is stopping Blizzard from implementing such a thing. I hope they do it sooner rather than later, but they never did pay enough attention to the Arena in a first place. It got better in last 2 or so years, but it has a long way to go.
I wonder if they will try another big change to Arena as they did at the start of last year. A year worth of data must be enough to decide on the next step, surely. Could also be enough for them to keep it the way it is if they like where it is at, i suppose. But if any bigger change was coming, the start of the next HS year would make most sense.
And to anyone who thinks about applying to be part of our Content team, do it! We've been pretty lucky with our last round getting some amazing ppl on board, i hope we can get more of you <3
I say give it your best shot and we will see, worst thing that can happen is you wont be picked which is the same as if you didnt apply at all. So by applying, you can only gain.
That being said, the strong English skills might seem like a "snobby" requirement, but it is no fun to spend literally hours to edit an article week after week after someone ... might have as well written it myself and done it faster lol. That is not to say that such a person did anything wrong, it just creates a huge time sucking wormhole that no one really has time to get into, which i hope is understandable.
So in conclusion, dont be affraid to apply, we might like what we see, you never know. And if you dont get picked, dont get discouraged, keep using the forum or discord, engaging in a conversation with other members is about as valuable as writing articles! So good luck and thanks ;-)

Loving the cards guys! Great flavor too, you did great job! Will have to think of mine to contribute.
Well, about the two quests ... that was a brain fart on my part :)

Looking good, tho Cosmic Breath = Avenging Wrath for 2 mana. And 2 Sidequests?:o
