I should get an appointment regarding my health and the job search, but honestly I feel in a weird limbo, life feels pretty pointless and even reading is a bit useless and boring... feels like there is no future anyway.
I can't speak from the viewpoint of a professional - only someone who has sought treatment for depression herself - but I say that you absolutely should consider getting help regarding your mental health. For ages we as a civilization have been dismissive of its importance; it's practically ingrained in everyone that you should just shut up and tamp it down, not be fussy or bitchy or whatever other term someone can use to hand-wave away problems. Don't be like that, especially to your own self. You don't have to deal with such feelings alone <3
Link, after getting to read all your Baldgur's Gate content, it makes me want to check it out (would be my first BG game) but I have no idea if I'll actually have the time considering there is a million other things to do outside of playing games. Maybe one day when it goes on sale...
In my totally-unbiased opinion, I think you should drop everything you're doing and buy it. Once you, our glorious leader, have seen firsthand how amazing it is, we can work together to overhaul Out of Games into its true purpose: being the best Baldur's Gate wiki it can be! XD
No but seriously, the hope/expectation(?) is that BG3 will be the finest cRPG of this generation, so if you have any interest in Dungeons & Dragons - or just turn-based RPGs in general - this game should be worth the look. You don't need to play the first two games; they're from so long ago, I wouldn't judge anybody for not going out of their way to access them. Just think: BG3 is based on D&D 5th Edition, while the original two use 2nd Edition, first published in 1989. Watch a summary video on YouTube if you feel the need lol.
Time for another installment where we talk about the games we've been playing! This time, it's the month of August (July? Never heard of it).
Throughout July, I was partially completing all sorts of stuff, losing momentum as my priorities shifted to the next thing and the next thing after that. Patapon 2 Remastered, God of War: Ragnarok, Final Fantasy XVI, Theatrhythm Final Bar Line, a (fourth?) playthrough of Final Fantasy X; all of them have been started and yet none of these games are finished. Not sure what it is that's keeping me from seeing them through.
As for August, I (im)patiently await Baldur's Gate III tomorrow, so I can work on our guide and then maybe actually play the damn thing myself! Steam says I have 20 hours of Early Access playtime, but that's been basically me camped in the character creator pouring over the information (or just "AFK" while I'm writing in the guide); I haven't even watched the intro cinematic! D:
What're you playing currently? Anything new you look forward to playing this month?
It's cool that you pulled it off, but surely you're running too many minions to pull it off consistently, no? It's very possible that Fanottem is not a Discover option because Watcher of the Sun, Suspicious Peddler, etc. are diluting the pool.
It seems, if anything, that you were lucky to manage the combo this early at all :P
Or the disney genesis platformers, which is astonishingly well animated and so difficult you'll never guess it was mickey mouse fucking with you.
I played (and failed at) Aladdin when I was a kid. Good times.
One of these days I might have to make my own Retrospective about Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete for the PS1. They left a major impression on me when I was younger.
Severed Steel's gameplay embraces what I always considered a weird design choice with Samus' power armor: her one hand/arm is completely taken up by her signature blaster/missile launcher. That must be a huge pain in the ass to both wield and to accomplish other things like typing at a console.
I quit the game just before the reveals began, and I'm confident I made the right decision. That being said, the Death Knight's plagues, Shaman's Golganneth, the Thunderer, and the Warrior's Odyn, Prime Designate are definitely concepts that would appeal to me.
Ratchet & Clank is one of my absolute favorites - I hope people buy it, directly increasing the chances that Sony brings the entire franchise to the PC.
I mean, he was practically flooding the LoR forums in this website, but you can argue no one's really affected by it other than himself.
I wasn't going to weigh in, but when you say something like "Just kill yourself plz", you get flagged for it and somebody ends up talking to you. It may have been aimed at the void, but it's still not appropriate.
Seems like a hodge-podge of support cards, rather than a unified package. Discard here, self-damage there, imps and healing and removal and tutoring. That can have its place, certainly; just more rare in this age of super-synergy.
Powercreep on Snowchugger. No alternative stat-line or anything; just "here's the chugga-chugga, but now with Magnetic." Kinda sad creatively-speaking.
It looks so fucking cool; I would buy it in a heartbeat if I didn't already have a PS5 lol. I know there are plates you can get, but I can be a klutz in those situations so that's a no-go. For the safety of my PS5 and the safety of my wallet, I must decline.
In general it feels like they stripped out some of the good so they could sell that power, survivability, and XP-stuff back to us with the Seasons. Maybe not literally, but still they entice you to jump to Seasonal content just to get back what you lost. Probably feels really bad for anyone who planned to stay in the Eternal realm (and thus won't access the boosts or Malignant Hearts).
You cannot: the card only lets you revive Paladin minions. That being said, it's probably the Earthen Golem itself you're looking to recover, or the Stoneheart King. Could also get Astral Serpent for its drawing-aura, or a Divine Shield minion.
So far I've seen two cards that generate earthens. I suppose if you can resurrect both copies of this with Tyr's Tears, that gets you up to 8/8, which is a start, and there's Disciple of Amitus, but I doubt that will be enough.
Tyr's Tears can also restore the Earthen Golem itself to life, thus providing you another one to continue scaling with. Tyr himself can do the same thing, as it starts out being a 2-Attack minion before the text activates.

Half-gravity, rockets only!
...is that a thing? I was only 8 when this game came out: I was playing Pokémon Silver and Final Fantasy VIII, not shooters lol

"Soundwave on thumbnail. Soundwave superior, all others inferior."

Awesome choice of thumb hehe :)

I mean, it's probably just an excuse to give us a modern Power Overwhelming.

...alright, maybe the controller.
Hit Monkey in a Sera+Silver Surfer deck would be pretty cool...if only it had happened before I quit the game :(
Seems more like Bioluminescence OTK stuff with the Nature cards, to me. Flash of Lightning cheapens your spells, then next turn its Turn the Tides and Champion of Storms to spawn tokens, play Bio, Lightning Bolt x2 and attack their face for the kill.
