  • I want Naga to be their own tribe: this could lead to more cool interactions, more fun for N'Zoth, and would tick another box on my ability to unintentionally predict the future lol.

A couple of things have come true after I put together an entry in our Custom Year competition over on HearthPwn before we left. They weren't 100% perfect, of course, but ETC came back, Dr. Boom was a major player once again, Dragons had an expansion about them, Freeze Shaman became a thing, Ashes of Outland happened, and now (hopefully) the Naga will become prominent in an underwater expansion :)

  • Went with "Beastdormu" without Mulverick: procced Noz once, won one game. Better than nothin', I guess.

  • OTK with The Ancient One? Might be too strong with the Warrior's high Attack minions, but it's ultimately just a Shadowflame that can hit face.

Next up: the signature move of my favorite starter Pokemon, Decidueye, I choose you Spirit Shackle!

  • I own everything but Thekal and Molten Giant; might have to check this out :D Edit: Whoops, forgot Kangor. Guess I don't have him either.

  • Me: "BG-Tamsin is terrible, even after the update."

Sinti, like not even a day later:

  • I'm not of the competitive variety, but a Just For Fun tourney would pique my interest :) I'm on NA

  • Hell Yes to Elementals

    Hell No to Murlocs

  • Do I not count? :(

  • The bare minimum is my just reward for going with Pogos again in the Tavern Brawl. This Tyrande played Voidtouched Attendant and swiftly realized her mistake lol

  • Welp, another instance of me starting in "1st place" only to fall far when the actual finalist voting began. Didn't even get a single 5 :/ Not to sound like a Salty Sally, but it's pretty frustrating.

Anyway, congrats to BloodMefist on winning our final comp of the Season! We'll be back soon-ish: hopefully we'll have better news this time around about updating our systems and coming back better than ever :) Demon should have his WCDC Recap up soon as well. Until then keep creating, and perhaps share it on our forums!

  • Good luck everyone with the voting and the finals!

Based on your feedback, Wailor, Demon, and linkblade, I've made a new version of The Perfect Challenge, this time as a Paladin card.

    That looks much better :)

Do you prefer this or the previous 3 Mana 3/4?

I would maybe cut the difference and make it a 2/2/3 or a 2/2/2? At 1-Mana it might be too good; as Sinti noted, Reckless Apprentice combos in particular would be quite the machine gun effect on the enemy's face.

I think going for a Wild card is a bit risky. Sure, every card was Standard at some point, but with the prompt specifying "seeing play at the moment", this feels like an odd choice.

Since it's a dual-class card, I do think you should make sure to include a match for both classes in your submission.

I see what you mean about name-dropping Mutate, Muckmorpher, etc., but it's supposed to be paired it with Druid of the Plains from Forged in the Barrens. The Shaman cards are technically a coincidence after the fact, because they share the theme of transformation; I thought of the Druid first and realized the dual potential afterwards. I can always submit it alongside Druid of the Plains + Bogstrok Clacker.

Hey look, it's Quest Druid support, and it's only 2 years late.

Swizard and I experimented with a new Untapped Potential deck of my creation, seeing if we can't make some of the newer Choose One cards and whatnot work. After various amounts of tweaking we concluded:

    • Pathmaker - Doesn't work at all after the Quest is completed. Very unfortunate.
    • Pride Seeker - Not worth it.
    • Capture Coldtooth Mine - Included as a one-off to nab Cenarius or to fill in gaps. Decent enough with the Quest.
    • Gear Grubber - Hard mulligan for it. It'll be a 1- or 0-Mana minion by the end of the Quest. A good addition.
    • Raid Negotiator - Underrated card. Most of the time the extra effect doesn't matter because the Quest will be done anyway, but it's still appreciated.
    • Boomkin - Fine. The deck either gets stomped or it doesn't; there might not be a middle-ground. As such, the healing is probably overkill with Hidden Oasis.

Not a great deck overall, but I enjoyed what few victories I managed lol

  • Quick Feedback:

    Show Spoiler

AeroJulwin - I think I like the -2/+5 as well, like Wailor said. -1/+4 doesn't feel like much of a difference, to me.

SkeithDE - I think The Perfect Challenge should be a Paladin card, like Wailor said. Chill Out is too good in a Mage combo deck that doesn't care about playing a card: Freeze the enemy out and just stall for a few rounds. Screeching Nightmare is too niche, in my opinion. I like TPC the most.

Wailor - I love when a dual-class card has dramatically different results between them; cool card :) My favorite so far.

BloodMefist - I like Ambitious Acolyte. It feels Rogue-y, but so what? Not like different classes can't have similar cards.

Demonxz95 - You know my feelings on this :P

  • Varden's passive Hero Power in BG always copies the right-most minion in the Tavern: it's not as random as it might imply. It kind of doesn't matter, because the results of refreshing are random anyway, but still. It doesn't feel as good as the minions are loading in because you can tell immediately that it won't be the ones to the left, even if one of those minions is the one you want. Your eyes become glued to the right-most position, and it becomes increasingly frustrating when it refreshes garbage in that slot.

Was probably playing them wrong; should've just embraced the garbage and got a bunch of triples from it, I guess.

  • Used the "Beastdormu" deck for something different to my norm, and got it to proc for once! Won all three games, too, which was nice.

  • Congratulations to Shadows, who won his own comp! That sneaky turtle... :D
