Keeping Boar as is in Wild may prove  to be a bad call with the Caverns double revert.  Only time will tell though.

What's the general consensus on disenchanting classic cards? Before rotation or after?

I haven't DE'd them since the news broke. I have a pair of duplicate legendary minions in classic now and wonder if it makes more sense to hold for a full refund or if we may see a situation similar to what happened with HoF cards in the past. (IE Sylvanas/Rags were auto-refunds but only for 1 copy so holding dupes wasn't advised.)

In terms of getting a “full refund” they’ve already stared that the Legacy set (Classic and Basic) rotating to Wild is no different than any other set rotating.  They are treating it this way because they are also giving away the whole Core set free, so they see it as a fairly even trade (I guess).

So if you never play Wild, and don’t care to play the new Classic mode, once they rotate you could either DE them then, or wait to see if you can get more value down the road with nerfs, etc.

I am around lvl 180 and right around the 14,000 gold I was predicting I’d hit when looking at my progress two months ago.  Seeing as 8,000 gold to 9,000 gold was pretty typical for me in past expansions, earning around 12,000 gold (plus 2k still rolling over from last exp) is pretty good!

One thing I am wondering about these sweet rewards... perhaps the cumulative rewards track levels over time will be how you earn golden Core cards?!  Something like that.  I’m not going to get too hyped for anything better than that just yet or I may just feel disappointed if it isn’t that sweet in the end

I like the idea, but it wouldn't auto-complete because the Villain doesn't resummon with buffs.  So the summoned version would be 3/6 and wouldn't summon anymore after that.

I love that I’m not the only one who immediately thought of Umbra + Recurring Villain with that Rogue Quest!  I may actually craft it again just to try that list or one similar to it once the patch drops.

Or maybe right now.  It already works as is I guess.

    Golem > Topsy Turvy > 2x PW Shield > 2x DS > IF.

    7 cards, 8 mana, 32/32 with charge.  :)

Probably a more efficient way but I'm not in the mood to think right now.

Wild is already crazy powerful so honestly, making cards like Undertaker and Golem that see little to no play in the format better might not be as bad as you think. Personally if these changes can push some of the existing strong deck types out of the picture (Secret Mage and Big Priest, in particular) then I’ll be happy! Big Priest only recently had a resurgence, but Secret Mage has been gross for a little too long there!

Honestly though, I expect some experimentation for a little bit, maybe a month later we’ll see the same strong decks still on top.

    undertaker will see litte.

Arcane golem will see tons of play, its better then leeroy which is already in many decks.

I could honestly seeing it making the cut in Rogue decks, both Odd and Kingsbane.  But if Nitroboost is going to 2 mana, Odd is taking a hit.  So we'll see.

All true, but I guess where I was going with my comment is that the combo as a whole will still take the same amount of time regardless of whether or not you are playing a 4 mana or 5 mana card that gives the copy effect.   Because you still need to draw and set up the other battlecries and then play Shudder on turn 9 at the earliest, unless you have coin or Bloom, or some other cost reduction going on.  And so while this may slow down aggro matchups a little, most match ups are essentially the same because yes, you impact the board more one turn sooner, but the overall time it takes is the same.

So slow opponents still get beat as long as you draw your combo pieces fast enough, still lose to fast burn decks like Secret Mage where the taunts don't matter, and you have a slightly better chance to survive long enough to get the combo off against aggro, but it might only buy you an extra turn.  Two extra turns if the aggro opponent has bad draw and can't smorc you fast enough.  But if they establish a good board too quickly, two 2/3 taunts isn't going to slow them down much.  So that is why I think it isn't a big deal, because I am not optimistic in this change really having that big of an impact on many of the deck's bad matchups.

As an avid fan of Shudderwock, I don’t know if this is that big of a deal.  Yes, makes it more consistent with more copy effects if ran with Doppelgangster too, but most decks with the Shudder combo play the double battlecry quest and Tour Guide anyway.  So in regards to the combo not failing it’s a minor win.  Mostly it’s good for the combo because they are taunts and can maybe help slow aggro a little.

Personally I feel like this does more for my hand buff Val’anyr Paladin list.  In fact, with this change I could almost make a hybrid of that and my Even Paladin lists.  We’ll see!

To an extent I agree with others that this feels a little rushed.  The timing of this expansion just seems off overall for me.  Yes, it’ll be a little over 4 months since Darkmoon released, but because that came out earlier than expected this one is also earlier than the usual first expansion and rotation (by only a week or two now with the one week delay on release).

Now, I’m pretty sure Dean said in a Q&A when asked if this expansion would be out in March he said yes, if it was ready.  When he said that, I don’t think we the public knew about the Core set yet.  But he of course would have!  Meaning he was aware of the large task ahead of that team to impliment some major changes.  So not only are they likely putting the final touches on the new cards, debugging, etc, they are likeky going through even more stuff to endure the Core set launch, and Classic mode launch all go off flawlessly (or at least with minimal issues).

Remember, this is their largest patch to date (I think they said that).  So there are likely a lot of things to test before they ship the patch.

The deck recipe brawl might still be coming this time around, but likely not until the 20.0 patch is live so that the cards are all in the game and ready to be used in the brawl.  Not sure exactly when that patch drops, maybe March 23.  So that Wednesday, March 24 would be the first chance to do it.  Maybe they will, maybe they won't!  The only reason not to do it that day would be to avoid rotating cards being generated off cards in the recipes.  So maybe the day after launch would be better for that reason.

I don't get it. What is the unintentional welcome by product?

(I'm F2P, so I'm not that clued in to how the pre purchase stuff works)

They are referring to the end of month packs you get based on your rank.  Those packs are typically the most recent expansion, so in theory at the end of March we should get Barrens packs instead of Darkmoon packs for those rewards.

While it SHOULD work this way, it'll be interesting to see if that is what actually happens or not.  I'd say after the 20.0 patch check your rewards chest in the in-game profile section and it should show what packs we're going to get.  Right now of course they show as Darkmoon packs so we'll see if that changes.

Yeah, but I think Rook was asking more of when does patch 20.0 launch?  They said it'd be before the expansion launch.  My guess is maybe following the final reveal, or the day after.  But definitely going to be sometime after the final reveal but before the Pre-Release weekend (March 26).  They need the cards patched into the game so people can open them and use them during the pre-release event.

yeah, a bit tired of BM kibler, day9 or krip always on the streams, is always good seeing new faces

Kibler still pretty involved, but I don't think I've seen Kripp on a final reveal stream in a LONG time.  And pretty sure Day[9] quit playing Hearthstone around Rastakhan's Rumble.  I know this because the launch day for that set I noticed all the HS streamers I follow on Twitch were in opening packs and/or playing the game, but he was playing MtGA.  I don't know exactly when, but some time during the Boomsday expansion after MtGA came out he stopped with HS and that's basically his only CCG he plays now.  Not counting things like Slay the Spire

He's done the final stream at least once before.  I forget which set he did it for.  Maybe one of the Year of the Dragon sets.

Well he hates women, so he'll probably hide all of the breasts!  Because he finds them to be quite disgusting!  LOL

For those who don't know or watch Lt Eddy: First, you are missing out.  Second, this is in reference to something said on one of his Mishaps videos.  It's meant as a joke.  Don't freak out!

Also, was just thinking, I think Firestone deck tracker has a feature that will track your pity timers.  If you download it now it won't show accurate numbers until you open a legendary, unless you have never opened a pack of a certain set, or if your last pack opened for a certain set contained a legendary.  Lastly, Firestone must be running when you open packs to track your pity timers.

I don't use Firestone because I just preferred to stick with HDT, but this was one cool feature that I wish HDT would incorporate for users.

Call to Arms is exciting!  I’ve been playing Even Paladin recently anyway, so this could shake up the list I put together.
