For reward track progress, I originally thought I’d g get around 140, I’m currently 162. I of course didn’t factor in achievement xp, nor did I include a proper calculation of the time played xp.
I didn’t buy the battle pass either. I wanted to go through the first expansion without it to see if I felt it was needed. And I don’t really think it is. Yes, I’d have even more gold, and the portraits, but ultimately I am finding that with how much I play, a pre-order plus gold is enough. I even managed to get the whole mini-set off just reward packs I got post Darkmoon launch and my unclaimed lvl 25 reward. That was a bit lucky in my openings, but hey... that’s gold I now get to carryover in case I need it for the next mini set. Or if I want to fill some gaps in my Wild collection.
Overall, as we near the end of this cycle I’m happy with the current state of the rewards track as I’m already 2000+ more gold than I might have earned in a previous expansion cycle without any noticeable change in my play time. And if they continue to improve it over time as they said they will, it’ll only get better, right?
I believe in one of Dean’s Q&A sessions he said it would come out in March “if it’s ready.” That was also prior to BlizzConline though. So while I would hope they’d tell us if there are any delays, it could be possible that they are still making some last minute balance changes prior to getting the reveals underway.
If we don’t at least get an update with a reveal schedule and such today, I may be a little worried about a potential delay.
Kibler had a Quest Warrior list during the Ulduum expansion that was pretty fun! I played it for a little bit with some success. But it was something he made late in the expansion cycle, and it didn’t carry over as well into DoD. A big part of it was getting Sul’thraze online and then next turn dropping a Goon to gain a lot of armor! It was fun!
I'm not stressing over it, Shuckle. I'm honestly not. And you make good points. My feelings are likely more of my own expectations being wrong than anything else. But I can't blame myself for my anger now can I?! :)
I was looking forward to all this free dust I thought we might get so I could potentially craft some Wild legendaries I missed back in the day when I didn't play as much. Not a ton, but a few from the GvG and TGT era that I can likely still craft anyway as I have over 16,000 dust right now anyway. Cards like Dr. Boom, even though he doesn't really see play anymore. That and they were talking about making cosmetics craftable so having a big boon of dust to use if/when that happens would have been nice too.
Thanks for ruining my day with a dose of reality and proper reading comprehension! LOL Also, I love your profile picture. If you're going to be named after the best Pokémon of all time (indisputable, btw) then you better have great art to go along with it, and you do!
Okay, I definitely read that wrong then. And to be quite honest, if they are not disenchantable I am going to be a little mad! I mean, I get before when they were evergreen in standard and being given for free. But I would expect that as before they would make them disenchantable Common cards. Yes it’s a lot of free dust, and it’s not the same situation as something like Mind Blast rotating out, but to stay consistent with past practices they should be disenchantable!
We’ll see what happens but after realizing I read that part wrong I’m not as hopeful.
Frosty, they should be disenchantable seeing as the part you quoted says in it that they will be craftable and disenchantable. I hadn’t seen the tweet regarding them being free of rarity, mostly because I hate Twitter and never get on it.
But now I’m very confused! Why even bother making them disenchantable and craftable if they have no rarity or associated dust value? Or will they have a dust value but no rarity gem? If so will it be the same as Common cards?!
I guess we’ll only really know when the change happens. Which in my personal opinion, can’t happen soon enough!
Glad you are having fun with it. I had to switch it up after Platinum 5 because the game was like “Here’s a every Big Priest player in Wild. Good luck!” Was not working out for me!
Switched to an Even Paladin list and nearly into Diamond ranks now. Which getting to at least D10 is kind if my goal in both formats each month.
In the past, when Basic cards were sent to Wild via Hall of Fame we saw them become Common rarity cards which could then be Disenchanted. One perfect example is Mind Blast, which I have the regular copies of still, but disenchanted the golden copies. I am expecting the same to happen when the Core set is implemented, although I haven't heard or seen specific confirmation of this yet. It might have been mentioned in one of Iksar's community Q&As, but I can't remember.
But here is an interesting wrinkle: 11 of those Basic cards which will be part of the Core set are being assigned a Rare gem, and 1 will be an Epic. So now I'm wondering if they will still all disenchant as Commons, or will those 12 cards have the higher rarities? Technically the Core cards are not the same as the Basic versions of the same card, but would they assign them different rarities?
Personally, I'm only going to be dusting the golden Basic cards because I don't need them in gold, but I play a decent amount of Wild and I want to give Classic a try so I'll need the regular copies of all the cards for those modes (mostly for Classic though).
If all the Basic cards are assigned the white Common gem, all 143 (x2) golden Basic cards dusted as Commons is still 14,300 dust, or 100 dust short of crafting 9 legendaries. But if these 12 cards follow their Core rarities, it's 16.100 dust for disenchanting all the golden Basic cards, which is just over 10 legendary cards worth of dust.
Either way I will be happy to cash in those golden basic cards for some major dust! But still curious to see what happens with the rarity of these 12 cards at the rotation.
One way to make sure you aren't miscounting: Make a Google Sheet to track how many packs you open. It's a little tedious but you just go in and update how many you've opened without getting a legendary each time you open some packs. I started doing it a while back to try and be more efficient with my gold, and while I have had some go WAY too close to 40, I've never tracked it going over that.
And as a side note, my personal experience this expansion has been pretty good with legendry drop rate. Not trying to brag I'm just saying I haven't personally had any issues, or even noticed any sort of lower rate.
One last thought: Did you buy the mini set bundle? If you're absolutely positive you are over 40 packs without a legendary and you bought that, could it have bugged your timer and reset it? I feel like that's not likely, but... maybe?
The sooner you can get this in play, the more likely you will be able to get the effect. With some luck you could basically create a never ending deck of "Jade Raptors".
A lot of potential in this card. And with Menagerie Warden coming back into the set they seem like they want to go all in on Beast Druid finally after a few failed attempts over the years.
The best part about this card is the cost. If you are truly desperate then the 5 hp to your opponent wouldn't matter much, but if you are that desperate is this spell really going to save you? Maybe if it's just used as a combo piece, or rather a cost reduction tool with the Nazmani minion.
These guys don't seem that great, but also not the bad either. I'm sure someone smarter than me will come up with a Wild combo deck that uses these and hand buffs to somehow OTK an opponent.
I hope Frenzy triggers if the minion gets one-shot...
To activate Frenzy the minion must survive damage. Cards like this and the Hunter raptor card could be great, but yeah... if you don't draw them early then you have much less chance to activate the effect because your opponent may have a spell or minion to kill it straight up and deny the effect
Already loving this guy in combo decks, both Wild and Standard. I think I might run him in my decks with [Hearthstone Card (Norzdomu the Eternal) Not Found] simply because some people have been telling me a 7 mana 8/8 dragon is bad. But it I can bounce back a good Battlecry minion while guaranteeing an 8/8 summons in it's place... Pretty good!
Also someone wrecked me in a game last night by using their Vol'jin to swap a minion of mine for one in my hand and I lost a combo piece. I hadn't even realized that you could use it that way until someone did it to me! LOL
I prefer Maiev over the original Valeera art, but Nightslayer Valeera from the Rewards Track is currently my favorite Rogue skin. Just my opinion!

I got such WC3 vibes off this spell reveal! It almost made me buy Reforged! But they I remembered... it's WC3 Reforged...

Underwhelming on it's own. Interested to see what it might pair well with.

That was happening with the new Vol'jin too when I was typing on my iPhone. Turned out that the ' that my phone was putting in was not the right one.
On PC now, let's see if it works. Shadow Hunter Vol'jin
EDIT: Apparently it did! To fix it on my phone I tapped and held the ' on the keyboard and made sure to select different options until it worked.
