Well I finally did it! I hit Legend! And I did it by accident, kind of!
I've been playing since a few weeks after launch with a few periods of playing very little, or not at all for a few months towards the end of 2014 and into early 2015. I've also played more casually for the life of the game, the first two years I literally played Casual only after earning my end of month rewards chest. And I'm the type who never played card games prior to Hearthstone, so when I first started playing and would drop Arcane Missiles or something on turn 1 and my opponent emoted "Well Played" I didn't realize they were being sarcastic... Anyway, I have learned a lot since then. Here's my Legend story!
I've been home a lot more lately with the state of the world and not working a ton, so while my wife's been busting her ass in the hospital I've been staying home with our son a lot. What do you do when you're home a bunch??? Teach your 8 month old son to play Hearthstone, of course!
Yesterday after he went to bed and my wife was working a night shift I decided it was time to play some Shaman. This is my favorite/most played class, but I have ignored it for several months now as I pushed for the golden portraits in the other heroes. But looking at the Tempo Storm meta report last night I saw an Even Totem Shaman list and was like, "That can't be that good, can it?" It can! In fact, for me it was 22-6 good from D5 to Legend (79%)!
As I got ready to face the final boss this afternoon, my son woke from a nap. I went and grabbed him and sat at my computer with him in my lap. It wasn't until after I clicked "Play" that I noticed something was very wrong. My son had shit his pants! I frantically tried to click "Cancel" so I could take time to change his diaper, but I was too late. I was matched with a Worthy Opponent; a Quest Mage! Now I had to pilot the deck while also being delirious due to the stench of a thousand corpses rising from my son's diaper as he sat on my lap. Sure I could have put him down, but if he started moving around a bunch on the floor, well... do you know what a blow out is?! If not, I envy you! I kept him on my lap to avoid further incident involving the Bog of Eternal Stench (you know, from the movie Labyrinth).
I got ahead on board, trying to maintain control while hitting my opponent, held off attacking into a secret which I was certain was Flame Ward (it was) to ensure my totems would live an extra turn to buff my Draenei Totemcarver, etc. Eventually I got to a turn where I could hit him in the face and bring the Mage to 8 HP while adding some spell damage to the board to power up my Crackle to "6-9 damage". a 50/50 shot! Do I take it???
That's when it hit me... "6-9"... 69! NICE!!! This glorious number was a sign from RNGesus that it would work! I hit for exactly the Mage's remaining 8 HP. I had done it! I had won, earning the Legend card back and Natalie Seline, completing my collection of Classic legendary cards. I also had a muddy mess in my son's diaper to clean up still. Celebrations would have to wait.
I never really intended to push for Legend, I've always just kind of played whatever I felt like bouncing around from meta lists to memes, aggro to combo and all deck types in between. I always figured if I found a good deck I had a lot of fun playing that I went on a great run with I'd get Legend but not stress over it. This Shaman deck seems really good in a meta full of Quest Mage and Discard Lock, and my win record would back up that feeling.
If you are looking for something really strong to make an end of month push in Wild, try Even Totem Shaman! There's nothing more fun than killing your opponent with a giant Idiot Totem!
Depending on how the card works, even if he takes enough damage to kill him Kreen may stay on the board until the effect finishes. Kind of like Mass Hysteria, how even though they die, minions stay on the board until the spell finishes. So if that’s the case, positioning doesn’t matter. Unless the minions stop attacking when the enemy minion is out of health, then in a predictable attack order you would position him last to hopefully avoid him swinging in.
It might be fingers, now that I look at it again. Perhaps from an Ancient (giant treant) that is either lowering her down or picking her up as she stands in the Ancient’s palm.
You laugh, but if they allowed 0 cost spells and someone chained together 15 Totemic Surges to OTK you with a Healing Totem on turn 3 you'd be pissed! LOL
More like a 1 cost card. You only get more than 1 if the opponent doesn’t immediately remove it. Which of course they will unless they can’t or if they don’t need to because they have lethal. If this guy becomes a problem (maybe when he does?) I can see him becoming a 7 mana 6/5 or 6/6
This effect already exists. It's called poisonous.
Similar sure, but against any minion with 4 or more attack it’s better. A more accurate comparison is a new Keeper of Uldaman that potentially gets the effect off multiple times.
But unless Pally gets more tools to support this archetype it’ll likely see little play unless generated off other cards.
I just think this deck would apply a lot of pressure with the non stop waves of 4/4 lackeys but I could be wrong.
Getting the 4/4 lackeys takes time and luck of the draw to set up, at least that's my experience in past efforts. Some of the new tools might make it a little easier, but I'm still not sold on this idea just yet. We'll see how things go once the set is out and everyone can play with the new toys.
I expect some decent control decks out of Mage and Shaman if there is additional support for this. That new Mage legendary could also make a good pairing with Ras, but both would need to stick AND you need small spells to drive up the spell damage on Mozaki. So it's a swing turn that takes some set up and control of the board. Again, depends on the meta and what other support a Spell Damage Control Mage archetype gets.
I don't know the exact list(s) but Big Shaman in Wild could maybe use it? Again, not knowing the lists I have no idea what you would cut for this, but I am pretty sure they run more high cost spells like Eureka!.
It also guarantees drawing Mecha'thun so it can be dragged out with Dirty Rat. But of course it all depends on the players drawing the correct cards in time.
That underlined portion is like 50% to 80% of winning any TCG/CCG
I guess the one downside is you get that Maly, but if you don’t have damage in hand it gets buried at the bottom as most of Warlock’s damage spells are low cost. Might have to play a 0 mana Maly next turn, Plot Twist and pray.
Dear God! Battlecry: Guarantee you draw a 0 mana Maly with your new hero power! Haven’t played that deck much. I think DQA is the only other 9+ mana card, right?
Interesting effect. I’m sure in some cases it’s going to be useful to guarantee pulling combo pieces, or just your big, powerful cards for later in the game. Think it’s rating of good or bad is really depends on if there is a deck in the meta that can use this effect consistently to win games.
But 5/5 stars due to the bonus effect of this guy being a shoe chef! I believe that’s like, what, second in command of a commercial kitchen... I learned that from watching Ratatouille
So, if on turn 5 I play Wisp and buff it with this, it can attack next turn like normal as a 9/9, right?
In case you want to see the win stats. Just realized in the first image I included the overall collective stats on HS Replay.

How many legendaries are in this set? Normal is 23, I’m pretty sure this makes 24. Maybe the neutral weapon is an extra?!
On my phone right now so I can’t dig too deep in the list to see if there are any missing that we should expect.
Nevermind! I had a long day and forgot: 10 classes!!! So one more legendary to be revealed for a total of 25.

Future me in a game vs a Priest. I’m playing anything but Priest.
*Opponent plays Convincing Infiltrator*
Me: I can’t wait to not play against that card in Standard next year. I can’t kill it this turn (for some reason).
*Next turn, opponent plays Coin, Grave Rune, and this for maximum infiltration*
Me: FFFFFFUUUUUUUU...

I hear from Echo that Crocs are easy to eat.
“Avalon will eat a shoe...”
Oh dear God!
Going the safe route...
Have you seen Lightning Bloom?!?!
