Playing a Wild game, admittedly using Odd Demon Hunter with a few additional Inspire cards after the nerfs including Dragonhawk Rider (what?!?!). I get matched up against a Time Warp Mage, a deck I've also played a lot of in the past. It's not a super tough deck to pilot in my opinion, but this guy... rope turn 1 and play the quest at the last second and pass. Does it again turn 2, so I started doing it back. Eventually he starts playing faster and so I stop roping too. Once I stop roping he STARTS roping again...
"Dude, this is the Pepper Thread, not the Salt Thread!" I promise I'm getting to the Pepper!
Anyway, he's down to one card, empty board except for my Glaivebound Adept that just cleared his Flamewaker Top decks Evocation with just three spells needed to complete the quest. No problem for me there, especially since his third spell he played after Evocation was a second Evocation that the first generated.
So the second Evocation fills his hand and triggers the quest completion, and his extra turn is no more! The very next turn (because he didn't immediately shame concede) he draws Archmage Vargoth! He didn't really have anything left in hand to threaten me anyway, but had he not been an idiot he could have at least bought some time... But I guess this is one fine example of a roping bastard getting what he deserved.
It's a combo of these two cards because the discount is not just this turn, but it's on the next spell you cast, not just on the discovered card. And all three can discover themselves and immediately recast for free to try again.
This makes me think of how in the initial design of the game they wanted to make the board interactions actually affect the game, but thankfully opted to just make them fun little clickables with no effect on the outcome. Now they've flipped that idea so that the card interacts with the game differently depending on the board.
Last bundle was 90 packs, so they likely adjusted to 80 plus 5 golden packs rather than change the price. But this would still be a little higher value. Or a lot higher if you’re like me and DE golden cards when you also have them in regular. My only goldens are Basic cards and some legendaries that I got in gold and weren’t terrible enough for me to DE and craft a useful card(s)
My first thoughts as well. Also, I'm now hoping for five Necromancy Houses with some bi-class cards similar to the tri-class cards seen in Mean Streets. If they don't do that... then that's just a terrible missed opportunity.
They could honestly do that now, it'd be like Waste Warden but with a buff instead of damage, and you could use it on a single minion with no type or on a group if you're using tribal synergy.
I think that was just speculations and wants from players, but I am also someone who wants tribe tags for all minions. Even if it’s just “Human” or “Orc”. Wouldn’t have to dedicate a lot of cards to synergizing with a lot of the tags, but it just gives a little extra design space for Discover and buff synergies if they want it.
An Undead tribe tag being added was also one thing I thought of right after seeing the leaked title.
"The magic within", roses and nice pavement, purple, gold and silver colors: is this a Nightborne and Suramar themed expansion?
That would be awesome! Largely untouched area of WoW lore, great characters like Grand Magistrix Elisandre and Withered J'im, beautiful art.
"An illusion! What are you hiding?"
Nightborne is possible. Saw an article back when Outland was announced saying the second teaser image looked like a Void Elf banner with tattered ends. Similar to Nightborne, not in Suramar but I think they are from one of the surrounding zones.
This article gives good in depth analysis of the teaser images. Summary of their theories.
Next expansion:Seems likely to do with Void Elves as the banner around the teaser image gem matches banners on some of their tents. Same color scheme and all.
Third expansion:We may finally be getting a Darkmoon Faire expansion this year. They discuss it in the article and give side by side comparison, but the gem and gem border in the teaser image for expansion 3 of 2020 matches the Darkmoon Faire card back gem and gem border EXACTLY. It also has a few other similarities. While you could say it's just lazy reusing of old art... come on! Blizzard may not be what they once were, but if they reused this art they had purpose and intent in doing so.
I only have one Backroom Bouncer somehow, so I added a Faceless Corruptor. I also removed one Feast of Souls and added a Witch's Cauldron. Seems like a fun deck. Only 3 games so far, but 2-1. Here is one of the replays (beating a Resurrection Priest) that actually showcases the usefulness of the Cauldron.
It's decks like this that keep Hearthstone fun. I looked through this list and was like "Hey! Some of these cards still exist!" Like Volcanic Drake... What?! Or Necrotic Geist... What's this old Arena card doing in here? Thought that was deleted from the game. LOL
These changes kind of hit Wild as well. I believe some Pirate Warrior lists in Wild ran two Corsair Cache to pull their only weapon in Ancharrr. It’s a soft nerf there and won’t really have much impact there.
I wouldn't call Soul Split bad, but it definitely needs more targets to use it on. Right now there aren't really any small demons you'd want to use it on, and the big ones first have to stick for you to take advantage of Soul Split.
You could use Fel Screamer to then drop Priestess and Split in one turn for 9 mana, but unless Screamer is part of your turn 8 play with those two cards waiting in hand and have the mana to play them the next turn you risk holding back other demons and losing tempo for a few turns while you wait for that very specific play.

Hey there, Primordial Glyph! What are you up to these days? I see you and Haunting Visions had a baby! How cute.

(1) 1/4... seems okay. Would be broken if it had a Beast tag.
Most likely. It's a cheaper Arfus.

Spooky Tree is the only hero Druids need.

It’s a wizarding school? Harry Potter crossover?!?! :)
But seriously, what if we get bi-class cards similar to in Mean Streets, with the “students” divided into five houses?! I’d be up for it!

Could be a more general Broken Isles theme too.

But Warglaives seems like a big deal for Odd DH.
No.
Looks like they forgot to take her down from the store. Bundle still showing up for purchase, so get it now if you want it still!
I like that you guys have all these detailed patch notes from patches that happened PRIOR to this site's existence. Nice work!
