Chapter 4, breezed through with Brann, double Capture the Flag, the 0 mana spell that refreshes your mana and a full hand to use it on, and the basic treasure, power, and deck. Final chapter, Reno did 172 damage, passed his 22 damage Torch and a few other things on to Elise as they were in my hand when Reno died, Finley took over with 56 left, never needed Brann. Had cleared a plague on all heroes so I had at least the four treasures for each, Finley also had the fifth (Karl the Lost) but didn't need any of his treasures.
Ultimately, I have really enjoyed this adventure, and will try to go back and clear a few additional plagues with other heroes. So far I've only cleared Chapter 1 in Heroic so I've got that to do too.
The interaction of Tekahn and Rafaam in the final fight, and the "Final Plague" that Tekahn releases near the end of the fight have gotten me very excited to see what the third chapter of the Year of the Dragon will bring to Hearthstone!
Side Note: Reno died in spectacular fashion during my run, which is typical Reno! I had cast Shadow of Death on Tekahn's Octosari earlier in the game, and when my first one died it drew the remaining cards in the deck for the first hero. Next turn another Octosari died, over drawing me so freaking hard! I went up to 9 fatigue on the final draw! It was glorious!!!
That and the "final plague" that Tekahn releases in the final stage of the battle does have some connection to Deathwing and the Cataclysm as well. As you may know from lore, Deathwing's was influenced by a powerful evil force. Some have also speculated maybe a Caverns of Time connection in the third expansion. Maybe Rafaam took an artifact that will help him go back in time and bring forward some old, powerful foes? Which would be similar to resurrecting them if he brought a long dead enemy to the present.
"Who am I?" The guy giving me PTSD!!! That's who. LOL
Also, I want to put Call of the Wild into my standard Highlander Hunter deck. Question is which card do you swap it with...? Siamat? Not likely. Dinotamer Brann? HELL NO! Zul'jin? Nope! Likely going to have to pull out a lower cost card and potentially mess up the deck's curve to make it work. Almost a third of the cards in my list are 3 drops, could remove Masked Contender as he doesn't seem to do much for me very often. I seem to pull him pretty late, often after playing Subject 9 which makes Contender a vanilla 3 mana 2/4.
New deck tracker called "Firestone", from Overwolf, has achievements built into it. If that's something you're interested in, they have a few that would make for interesting challenges. One I kind of laughed at was to have a full board of nothing but 7 Snowflipper Penguins. And that might have been in the Tombs of Terror solo content. Good luck with that!
I've been mainly using it for tracking what bosses I've faced and beaten in solo content, and it also tracks your pity timers if you have it running while opening packs! Tracks how many more packs before a guaranteed legendary and epic.
Leeroy is a staple, an evergreen card that will always see play
Not to mention if he ever gets nerfed you can get the refund, or if he gets sent to Hall of Fame you get the card plus the dust! I personally crafted him a long time ago, before you couldn't get duplicate legendaries. So of course that meant I opened him 3 days and a few packs later... To quote Arthas: "A misstep."
They are referring to the way the plague lords keep damage from your previous encounter with them. AliRadicali is basically saying there should be an option to turn that off so that every run the plague lord is at 300 hp when you reach the boss fight.
For me the first three runs were very frustrating using Elise. But then I got the "Play an odd cost card, reduce all cards in hand by (1)" treasure, along with Stone Fox Statue for two copies of anything that cost 0. In multiple games I reduced Stone Fox and Lich King enough that I could play LK<-Fox, 2x (0) LKs, and before turn 8! That with a lot of discover and hand refill made it easy, going from 276 to 0.
Hell, the first time I got to the boss I was not prepared for him with my deck I built. I just couldn't keep anything on the damn board. and with his 0 mana Play Dead hero power + Khartut Defender... He was at 300 again before that first encounter ended. LOL
While people farming at low ranks could be a problem, the specific problem isn't necessarily the ladder but the cards he's using. While some basic cards have stood the test of time and show up in decks year after year, having a deck of ALL basic cards is tough to compete with on Ladder.
I haven't seen a streamer do it in a while, but I know Toast would occasionally start a new account and see how long he took to get to legend on a brand new F2P account. He may have done it last when they added ranks 50-26. Usually what he and others did was disenchant anything they didn't need to make the deck they wanted to make, and craft things they weren't getting through packs. Another possible strategy could be to save up dust and craft Whizbang the Wonderful, which will allow him to play various constructed decks without having a large collection. Each possible deck from Whizbang is listed here, and if you use Hearthstone Deck Tracker on your computer it should display and track each deck properly when playing a random deck from Whiz.
The Whizbang decks aren't always the strongest, but some are very close to top meta versions of the same decks, and should be enough to help power through to rank 15, or higher.
*Sidenote*:If the Whizbang recipes look familiar, it could be that some of the all golden deck opponents you're facing are playing a golden Whizbang, which makes their random deck all golden.
Yeah, she said that to me one chapter one. I strongly dislike the whole weakening mechanic TBH. I get why they did it, so there'd be an easy out for people who don't enjoy the struggle, but it really takes the challenge out of it. There should be a way to turn it off, especially on heroic.
I get the feeling that his comment is in reference to a Priest overhaul. Where they would remove DS and other Basic/Classic cards to kind of re-invent the class. Basing this mostly off the fact that he states "We have some plans to remove DS, but it comes with some other sweeping changes." And follows it if they go that route it would be "a big maybe". So their plans to remove DS have to be something much much bigger than just nerf or HoF for the one card. I would love to see them move towards a full on balance between Holy and Shadow Priest cards, seeing as Anduin's hero portrait actually has light and shadow in it.
I wouldn't mind a larger deck mode, but maybe 40-45 instead of 60. But more than something like that, I'd rather have a regular third constructed option similar to the Brawl Block tavern brawl. Could do a monthly rotation of sets in that mode, or maybe restrict it to cards in the current Arena pool. Could be fun!
I played Kromaga a few years ago and I loved the game for a the time I played it. But truthfully I just never got super invested in it and eventually lost my interest in the game. Which I should try to play it again sometime seeing as I bought the "welcome bundle" back when I created my account. I think it was only $5, but still... Should make sure I get my money's worth out of that game before it shuts down completely!
I just did Auto-Complete for one of the classes. I forget which one... Maybe Paladin? I just chose which ever class I needed quest wins for so I could earn both gold and my free pack. The auto deck was able to out tempo the "Most Obnoxious Deck" as well as control the board pretty easily too. Since they never had a chance to do the thing they wanted to do, I feel like my deck was more obnoxious to them really.
Correction: It is a Priest deck, but not the one listed above. Either Auto Complete doesn't work with this format, or it's better to just play for tempo and control the board. My guess is it's broken for Brawl Block as no matter what class I Auto Complete a deck for, it consistently adds the same stuff: Green Jelly, Violet Wurm, etc. Looks similar to Auto Complete decks prior to the new functionality. Funny how the game seems to really value certain cards when not taking win rate data into account.
Evolve Shaman with Thrall, Deathseer is the reason I have the golden Shaman hero! As soon as I opened that card I built the deck and played it at a 75% win rate for over 100 wins... Insane! The dominance of that deck dropped after a few months though after they nerfed Corridor Creeper followed by the sudden rise of Prince Keleseth tempo decks.
Blizzard should fix this as a mechanic, if you paid a certain mana cost for something it should keep the mana cost you paid for on board this would solve CC and any other future problem..
This seems fair to me, and I have heard it suggested before.
My question is, if the minion gets bounced back to your hand.
By your own OR by say, SAP. What cost does it go back to your hand at?
Or to the deck if it gets shuffled?
Concistancy would become a problem. The discounted card looses it's discount when used.
It would definitely go back to hand at the original cost, with only additional cost reduction effects or cost manipulating effects on the card itself bringing the cost back down again.
The same is pretty true with cards that have been buffed or debuffed when they bounce, the stats all reset.
We got two different boards in the original League of Explorers. The first one was the dig-site and the other was was the museum.
Forgot that those were both from the same expansion. Also, I'm noticing a theme here... the Explorers get together and bring two boards.
EDIT: I wonder if the original LoE had two boards due to the adventure taking place over several locations? Maybe we get two this time simply as a nod to the fact that LoE had two.
I haven't played this much in the last week, but a lot of my wins came more from charging Shudderwocks than the old combo. As mentioned, I did this build after seeing someone elses highlander list that included the two Hog Riders. I forgot those cards even existed until seeing that list. lol

Can't wait to see what it is!
I'm thinking about trying this for the only simple fact that it has Octosari in it, and I have a golden Octosari.
Cursed Blade... nope!
Also, thanks for the spotlight on Anka’s Jades! Not the strongest deck, but I have a lot of fun with it. Maybe others will too.

Quest Re-roll is something I often do to get "harder" quests with higher rewards, not easier and lower rewards! WTF?!?!

20-25 min Brawl matches... yay!
Or at least a reset button
