While I love this card, I feel like they should have removed the ability for it to transfer at some point. Makes card backs a little more special when you can't get them all the time...
Could be an addition to Big Spell Mage in Wild. But given that you probably need to use some of those spells prior to turn 10 to stay alive, you may not get much out of it in most games. Especially if you draw him late.
Yes, it would, so you'd have to stay alive with enough health left to pull it off. OR the other option is you still use Emperor and drop Violet Illusionist to be immune... But now the amount of cards involved is just getting ridiculous! Cute is a good way to describe it, definitely not good! (None of my ideas are every good! lol)
My first thought was Silence Priest. If the board is relatively empty you can place this down, next turn Wailing Soul for two big boys without the downside. If it’s taken some damage use Circle to heal up!
The downside only lasts a single turn that way, so they either play a bunch of little crap or one biggermid game minion.
Get a tick or two from Emperor on a few cards, get Corrupted Healbot to stick. Next turn, if you’ve got a way to trade off the bot, cast this on it, Vivid Nightmare, Auchenai Soulpriest, trade the bot to kill it, x2 Spirit Lash for a lot of damage to your enemy.
Pretty good, especially when you realize it has pre-nerf Saronite Chain Gang text. So any hand buffs to your taunts from cards like Armagedillo are applied to the copied minion as well.
Now that we've seen Titanic Lackey and its effect, I had a moment to rethink this. I was also thinking it'd be a lackey with a Reborn tie in. However, I'm really glad it's not. Rogue already generates a TON of lackeys. Did we really want a Rogue turn with Spirit of the Shark on board, play Leeroy Jenkins, Reborn(x2) on Leeroy, then Reborn(x2) again, Leeroy hits face, Backstab Leeroy to spawn 4 of him with 1 health left and charge face again for a total of 30 Leeroy damage in one turn?
Granted it would be a super situational combo requiring you get the two lackeys, you would need Shark to be your only minion on board, no taunts or secrets in play to stop you... However, could have been very strong with 30 charge damage possible as early as Turn 7.
If this would happen (bring back some old sets/cards) to constructed mode, it would have to be another game mode, but... they would face 2 problems: first - would they allow people to buy packs with gold? Second - how would they deal with thousands of complaining players that dusted their rotated cards?
I also thought about this myself. In my opinion, there should be a third constructed mode, with rotating sets, in a seasonal fashion, just like the arena nowadays. So, in an economic point of view, for Blizzard, I think it wouldn't be feasible...
I'm not sure how many people who constantly dust Wild cards would even be interested in playing anything outside of Standard anyway. But this could be good or bad for Blizzard. (For the sake of this post, I'm going to refer to this hypothetical new format as "Limited")
Bad:
Yes, some players might complain that they dusted all their old cards, but that's not Blizzard's fault. They would have made that choice on their own!
Could feel like restricted access for newer players who don't have a lot of the older sets
It may not attract a very wide base of players who are already fatigued on the game just from normal ladder play, making match-making take a long time, maybe not making for fair match-making either.
Good:
If they wanted to redesign the Ladder experience, they could try something different in this mode first
They could offer Wild packs as part of a monthly rewards system for climbing in this mode. Offering a few Wild packs in rewards, especially if they are for Wild sets featured in the following month's lineup, could help alleviate some of the pain in the first two "Bad" bullet points.
They could actually ban the use of certain cards each month as a way of balancing this mode and avoiding super OP combos. They can't really do this in Wild since that'd basically be deleting a card from the game, but if a super strong Wild deck can be built that month in Limited because all the cards you need are in the monthly set list, hinder it with a few card bans to balance the mode that month.
It may actually encourage some players to invest more in Wild packs if they 1) are newer and never opened a lot of them or 2) are missing some cards from old sets. Example: I didn't play much during the GvG and TGT releases so I am missing a LOT of cards in those two sets.
In terms of the "using gold for Wild packs" thing... I've heard a few excuses such as "it's confusing for new players and frustrating for them if they buy packs they then can't use in Standard" or "the client can't handle it". That second one I think is more mobile. I personally see no reason why they couldn't make any Adventure or Wild set that is usable in Limited for that month available in in-game shops for gold during that month!
I've thought about this many times before as this idea keeps coming up in various forums. Would the new mode be a huge money maker for Blizzard on it's own? Probably not. But do they need a new game mode or two to help keep interest in the game up to continue making money in general? Yes, they probably do.
Any lackey addition is a “soft nerf” if you think about it as reducing your odds of getting the exact lackey you need for a specific situation. But I can see this still being very useful to force a trade or two if you miss generating a Kobold lackey you need to clear something off right away.
Armagedillo because I enjoyed playing the old Quest Warrior, and this card has potential to help me build a great wall, a magnificent wall! You will never have seen such a great wall before. And believe me, with Armagedillo’s help we can Make Taunt Warrior Great Again! It’s true, folks!
I don’t mind Peter or Brian, but Chris has kind of come off as someone who doesn’t really know the game at all. Just my opinion, but it’s the vibe I got from him last time.
I’d honestly like it to just be Iksar and Brian. Kosak could work too, but on a recent OmniStone episode, Iksar was a guest and actually answered questions beyond the typical canned responses. Which was refreshing!
Lastly, I miss a big personality like Brode for these reveals.
Yeah, IF you can pull this off it's like a Deathwing that doesn't empty your hand, and also damages your opponent's face for 20. Your opponent would have to have an answer to remove this right away or it's likely game over.
I love cards like this that have a huge payoff, but a ton of risk and difficulty in trying to pull it off. Ex: The Darkness, Blood of The Ancient One

If the card doesn't specify it's all targets, both you, your minions, and even enemy minions/heroes. Similar to how Zandalari Templar is worded.

I regret not playing much in October 2014 the most... one of 3-4 card backs I didn't between late 2014, early 2015.

1 month after is better than 2 months after!

I’d be fine if Chris forgets to show up for this.
The expansion does happen in Uldum, after all.
In the website announcement it listed the next Arena rotation.
So Shovelfist and Kraken both rotate upon Uldum’s release.
