I haven't read the full article, but I really hope they bring back the old Death Knight card border. The current one is just a recolor of the Warrior one, which is not great for colorblind people.

(Also, the previous one was very cool)

    Very cool mini-set!

I like how experimental some of the cards are, especially Mirage Magician and Gaze of the Shadows and Hand of Defiance.

There are some minor spelling mistakes and a card that doesn't feel like it belongs to its class (Living Pyramid; maybe if it had Reborn instead of Divine Shield it would be less glaring?), but very good job overall.

My Cryptographer has the same effect and wording as the new Tight-Lipped Witness. I just missed the stat distribution a little bit.

This kind of things always make one feel validated as a designer :)

(Also, I'm an IT guy and my girlfriend is a lawyer, so this situation is kinda funny considering the theme of both Mini Sets)

    Very simple prompt.

    1. One person proposes a combination of two classes and the next person must create a dual card for those classes.
    2. The person who makes a card has to propose two new classes.
    3. You can also enforce a a card type to the mix (minions, spells...) although it's not mandatory.

I'll start by asking for a dual Mage-Warrior card :)

Thanks, that wouldn't be a bad idea. I like the current art, but it's just not Hearthstone-y enough. How can I find it?

Yeah, that's what I meant. The art is fine but it's not very Hearthstoney. I just googled "time mage wow artwork" and it showed up in the first result.

Here's the link, in case it doesn't show up if you search it.

About your new card, I like it a lot more than the previous version and that the Warlock card.

I already submitted a completely different card, since this week is being quite busy for me and I didn't feel like waiting for feedback (opinions on it are still welcome, though).

It's kinda like a safety net card: if you're forced to Hero Power on turn two, this guy can pull the 2-drop you missed. It's mainly meant to be an Arena card, as Constructed decks are generally more consistent, although he could also be used in a very HP-centric deck.

As for the flavor, he brags about the supposedly heroic things he has done, which attracts rookie adventurers to his party (while everybody else in the tavern rolls their eyes).

Not sure how well this Arena-centric card will do, but I don't have much to lose because my other cards weren't very good either xD

    Feedback:

    AeroJulwin
It seems like a very dangerous card. I mean, if your opponent can't kill it right away and they don't have removal in their deck, it's pretty much gg. Also, not a fan of the artwork (you can use the one I used for Enrera if you want).

    R
As everybody says, the refresh version looks better (I see you've already changed the art for it).

    linkblade
I like the new wording, as it makes it clear which part of the last turn it's taking into account. Also like the change of Battlecry for Combo, seems more balanced.

Still not sure why this little guy has "teacher" in his name, though XD

I like this card, but balancing it is quite hard. I feel like it should be more expensive (with buffed stats), but then again, powerlevel has risen a lot since I used to play, so I'm not sure.

Beyond this, I'm not sure the teacher flavor makes sense. Maybe I'd call him something referencing his boomerang, dunno.

    Demonxz95
My favorite of these two is Divining Cartomancer. In fact, it's probably my second favorite card of all posted so far. My only gripe is the name, but for other reasons: a cartomancer sees the future, while this card's effect is based on the past. I'd go for a croupier or card magician related name, which I think make more sense and also fit the artwork you picked, which is pretty sick.

Felwarper Satyr isn't bad and could easily be printed in the future, but it's too basic for my taste.

    R
I could easily see this winning.

Not sure if it's a bit OP, though. Maybe it should only refresh Mana, instead of gaining it. Dunno, wait to see what others think about this.

About the artwork, I think it's a fine Naga art, but the flavor doesn't seem connected to the effect. I'd probably go with some Arcane Druid art, which can be found easily on Google.

    BasilAnguis
Pretty interesting concept. I see this doing well, but not winning, unfortunately. It's one of those meme cards that is very cool unless it's good, in which case it breaks the game xD

    Moondreamer
The flavor is a bit weird but kinda works. I'd drop the "The" on the name (just Rehersal).

I'd also rise the cost to 2. 1 Mana draws are very dangerous because they give a lot of consistency to your deck. Im fact, this would probably be run by decks that don't have EoT effects.

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that... Depression and similar stuff is really hard to deal with, but it can be done. I recommend seeking the help of a professional, it really helped me when I was dealing with anxiety and impostor syndrome back when I started working.

Speaking of impostor syndrome, I don't think your creativity is gone. I mean, you've been killing almost every comp you've participated in this last season. I don't want this comment to come off as frivolous, I know you're dealing with much more heavy stuff right now. I just wanted to point out that we usually perceive ourselves in a much more negative light than people around us.

I really hope you manage to feel alright as soon as your emotions allow you. I also hope to see you around if you ever feel like it. And if you don't, it has been a pleasure sharing this hobby with you and I wish you luck in all facets your life :)

Here are my initial ideas. Not overly creative compared to other cards already posted here, but the flavor is decent I believe.

I don't have much to say about Living Paradox besides the fact it can go infinite, although you're probably better just copying a stronger Elemental. Of course, if you played several Elementals, you get a random one.

Comission Artist could've participated last week, but here it is anyways. I want to know if the connection between painting and Sigils makes sense. Maybe I should go for a tattoo artist instead?

Edit: Added Chromomancer Enrera. Not satisfied with the wording.

does it count itself or other beasts only?

Other Beasts only. I changed the wording a little to make this clear.

@linkblade I finally decided to submit it as is, since it's currently a Crackling Razormaw that can be played without Beasts on the field, and +1/+1 is already one of the best Adaptations for this card. Only drawback is that you can't highroll with +3 Attack. Thanks for your feedback anyways, sorry to be such a contrarian xD

@BloodMefist I like them both, but I prefer Putress. Still, both are very solid options. The balance seems on point in both cases.

    Some quick feedback:

Wailor - I think it would be safe to add a Banana to your hand *and* cast it on another friendly Beast, but you'd have to add "another" in there to avoid it just going to the Rascal. Amusing card :)

Do you mean add a Banana and, if you have another Beast, cast another Banana on it? I guess that wouldn't be OP, but it would get a bit too wordy, I think.

I gave Izzy 5 stars, btw. She seems not that dangerous with the new restriction.

Didn't remember Kotori Lightblade, maybe I copied it subconsciously. Even then, it's too dangerous, sor here's another design.

If you don't have a Beast, you get a Banana. If you do, you give it +1/+1.

It's supposed to belong into a Banana Hunter package, but its powerlevel is easy to grasp even outside this context.

This is a very hard call, as the cards are radically different.

Of course, Massive Macaw is the safest choice, but I think I'd go with Izzy. I'd probably remark she's meant to be a freebie legendary, as her effect really feels like one.

    Demonxz95
Very flavorful card, I really like it.

As a very minor note, I'd probably make the adult version a 4/7 in order to make the Attack-Health difference consistent in both versions.

    AeroJulwin
I like the first version a bit more, although I'd specify it casts copies of the spells you generated. As it is right now, I think it'd consume the spells you haven't cast already, which I believe is not intentional.

    R
Very cool card. I don't believe it's broken, since Rogue doesn't have many big weapons.

    adamsleungcn
My favorite here is probably Arcaneburst Dawngrasp, but it should read "If any minion dies" instead of "If any die".

BladeFlurry is a also a pretty cool card for Enrage Warrior, but it has several flaws:

    • It's name is too similar to Blade Flurry (a card which is already very similar to).
    • The wording is quite iffy. I'd go with something like "Destroy your weapon. Cast 'Whirlwind" a number of times equal to its Attack.".
    • The Mana Cost seems a bit too expensive. Blade Flurry is very similar to it and costs 2, so I'm inclined to say your card should cost 1. However, there might be a broken combo with Enrage minions I'm not taking into account.

I don't enjoy the other two cards, unfortunately. Relic Chest is just not my cup of tea and Ice Manipulator Dawngrasp's double damage effect is broken against heroes but almost worthless against minions.

    Moondreamer
My absolute favorite card here. The flavor is outstanding.

That said, I'd probably give it Taunt, as right now seems a bit weak: it's effectively a four Mana minion that forces you to play badly in the following turns. Considering that, 3/8 Taunt doesn't seem broken.

About the wording, it should say "cast 'BEEEES!!!' on this" or "cast 'BEEEES!!!' on this minion". I'd say the word "any" is also expendable, in case you run out of space.

Two variations of the same idea. I think they count, given the examples provided by the prompt.

I think the dude version will be preferred, but I don't know if the idea is inherently too aggro. Maybe they would be more balanced as Legendaries, dunno.

EDIT: linkblade's Massive Macaw reminded me of another Druid Parrot I made back when Deadmines was announced. It's a bit too similar to both Pathmaker and Raid Negotiator, though.

I'm very late, but I finally came up with a refined version of Razuvious.

I like this a lot more, and fitting within the rules always helps, too :D I have but one niggle: the Poisonous/Unholy Rune costs 2 when the others cost 1. This feels weird; I'd honestly have it cost 1.

I thought it was a bit too strong, considering you are potentially able to get basic Runes multiple times. I might make it cost 1, though.

I'm very late, but I finally came up with a refined version of Razuvious.

I took Shaman's basic Totems as inspiration for these basic Runes: they are token spells with very basic effects that can be generated by several DK cards.

Since you'll be able to generate many of these during a single game, I made them weaker than a collectible card. This, in turn, turn allowed me to combine the effects of both previous versions without it being broken.

Finally, there would be other collectible Runes with more complex effects.

    Late feedback:

    BloodMefist
I like Painsmith Raznal more. Most self-damage cards are quite aggro for obvious reasons, so it's refreshing to see a control oriented one. Balance is hard to judge without seeing the support for it, so I'd say it's fine.

Lord Marrowgar seems to have a very weak payoff for a very harsh tribute, so I'd probably swap Taunt for Lifesteal. Even then, I don't enjoy burn effects, so I'd still go with Raznal.

    linkblade91
Izelair is my favorite of your cards, but it's hard to know how balanced she is. On the one hand, healing and gaining Attack are strategies that go in opposite directions. On the other hand, I'm still worried this could get out of hand too easily, as she's a Vessina with a stackable effect. I might nerf her to a 2/4 or even a 4 Mana 3/5.

    FooBars
I think they're both a bit too wordy, but the base effect is interesting. I'd probably make a new version with the following text, using Aegwynn, the Guardian as inspiration:

"Rush. After this attacks and kills a minion, summon a copy of it that inherits these powers."

    or even simpler:

"Rush. After this attacks and kills a minion, summon a copy of it with Rush."

    Moondreamer
I really like your new Lord Marrowgar. He would probably be fine as a 3/6, as his effect depends on doing something detrimental. Also, not sure if he's the best character for this effect, so I'd suggest finding a more Frost-centric character.

Wailor - The runes strike me as too verbose by trying to be both weapon and minion, I'd suggest making them affect just your weapon like rogue poisons. Maybe then try a "Battlecry: Equip a X/X Runeblade and discover a Rune to cast".

The point was precisely make it different from Rogue, both to create an identity and because I'm assuming DK won't have a hero power that equips a weapon. If other people dislike this aspect, I'll probably try a completely new idea.

    Feedback:

    linkblade91
Both are solid designs that make sense within the flavor of a Death Knight class.

I'd say I like Sapphiron a bit more. I agree with Arkasaur, the tokens should have another name. Maybe Frost Drake, referenced just as Drakes in Sapphiron's text? Since 4/4 seems too big for a Whelp.

If people don't like the infinite effect of Lord Tamakeen, I'd suggest making it an aura effect and give it Rush to make up for it.

    Demonxz95
My favorite is probably Teribus the Cursed. I like how it interacts with dead minions in a very different way compared to Priest.

Lady Frostheart is also cool and her effect is very flavorful, but having to deal damage to Frozen minions kinda goes against the point of Freezing them in the first place. The tripling damage part is fine IMO.

Finally, Alexandros Mograine is alright, but a bit boring. I think hand-buffs aren't very exiting.

    Arkasaur
    Both are interesting.

I'd say I like Lady Deathwhisper a bit more. I like how it uses mechanics from other classes and combine them to create something unique. I really buy DK being like a Mage-Warrior-Warlock hybrid, honestly.

Gothik the Harvester is also very interesting.

    AeroJulwin
Very cool card, probably my favorite. I don't think Stealth would be broken, since this is basically a Halkias but for Freeze.

Only issue is it could be a Shaman card, as they use both Freeze and resummon. However, this is not too big a deal: I can buy a hypothetic DK class using these mechanics more intensively.

    Moondreamer
Not sure if they would use a Colossal minion in the Initiate set, but besides this I really like the card.

I'd probably make the spikes 1/3 minions, though. In the current state, they lock your board too much, and they're spikes, so it makes sense that they can deal damage.
