Toki has tinkered with the Hearthstone shop to bring us a great deal for players of the Wild format. 56 card packs, 1 great price.
- The bundle is only available on the Battle.net Web Shop. It costs $35 USD.
- You have about two weeks to purchase the bundle, it is available through July 1, 2019.
- The 56 packs are divided evenly among the 7 wild Hearthstone expansions - 8 packs per expansion.
- You may purchase the bundle once per account. It may be gifted.
If you're a standard player and want some dust, this isn't the worst deal we've ever seen. The value increases quite a bit if you've opened a bunch of these packs previously since you could hit your pity timer. If only this was 10 packs from each expansion, all players who never opened some of these packs would be getting a wild legendary per set to disenchant.
Wild Expansions 2019
These are the expansions you'll be getting card packs from.
- Goblins vs Gnomes
- The Grand Tournament
- Whispers of the Old Gods
- Mean Streets of Gadgetzan
- Journey to Un'Goro
- Knights of the Frozen Throne
- Kobolds & Catacombs
Are you picking up the bundle? Tell us why or why not in the comments below.
Personally, I'll be picking the bundle up and leaving the packs in my collection for a while since they all look so awesome. I'll unpack them as soon as I desire dust.
Comments
I'm bored of having dust triples with RoS...time for some brand new cards to play with my oldies!
I joined a couple of months before the 2019 rotation so I just have enough wild cards and decks to miss them.
I sincerely hope they add some more wild modes one day!
Does anybody know if this is going to come to the ingame store?
I'm not complaining about the value of the deal, but if I could get a few extra percent off with amazon coins I would be a lot more likely to buy the bundle.
Since all of the wild stuff is not available in-game, I would guess that the answer is "nope".
Ha! Awesome!
It looks like Blizzard's finally cottoning on to the difference between Dollars and Pounds!
On the UK version it now sells the packs for £29.99 (instead of the US $34.99)
Taking into account conversion and fees, this finally works out at the same price.
While it was always nice to get it cheaper going to the US site, I'm glad to see that Blizzard have taken an active step in lowering the price for EU people like us. :-)
Well, the "real" EU still have 34,99 USD vs. 34.99 EUR :-)
This is really dirty. The pity timer is 10 packs and they only give you 8 packs each if you never got cards from the expansion before. I have bought from all these older expansions and will not spend the money on this. AND if you didn't didn't play any of these expansions you will miss the pity timer by 2 packs. The first 10 packs are supposed to give you a legendary but most of the time the pity timer triggers at 10 packs instead. This is the biggest scam I have ever witnessed Blizzard doing so far. This is worse than the hero locked behind 80 euros. They just couldn't be damned to give two extra packs could they??? So scummy my god. Why are you people upvoting comments favoring this? There is so many new players that didn't buy these cards before that will miss the pity timer by only 2 packs. It's disgusting.
If you are opening the first 10 packs of an expansion you will get a legendary somewhere in those 10 packs. You don't need to open 10 packs. Sometimes I have had my first legendary show up in pack 2 or 3.
Yes..but over 70% of the time it seems to be given on the 10th pack. You are much less likely to open a legendary before pack 10. If you do you beat the odds.
One of the best pack openings ever!
8 legendaries (Geosculptor Yip, Sherazin, Corpse Flower, White Eyes, Varian Wrynn, Icehowl, Chillmaw, Nat, the Darkfisher, Hemet Nesingwary), some epics, one gold common and one gold rare.
0 legendaries, 2300 dust. Not happy.
blizzard should really make it possible for people to buy wild expansion packs with gold
The main reason they haven't is because they don't want new players buying packs and then getting annoyed when they can't make a standard deck with the cards.
Open a Wild shop permanently that lets us choose whether to buy packs/adventures with gold or money, Blizzard. Is it really that hard to implement?
I could see it potentially bogging down the mobile client on the shop, but even if that's the case they could make it all available for gold or cash purchase on the pc client and keep Wild purchases off the mobile store. If a mobile only player finds logging with their pc to make that purchase too inconvenient, oh well! At least they’d have the option somewhere
3 legendaries (Sunkeeper Tarim, Wilfred Fizzlebang, Malorne) and some nice golden goodies. Someday I'll get into Wild, so this was a pretty juicy deal. I know Tarim is good, but no idea about the others, as I just started last year.
Tarim isn't just good, he's in the "how did this card avoid getting nerfed?" category.
Wilfred is a bit too slow is most decks, but he does work in Even Warlock, in my experience. Keeping a 0-mana card in your hand helps reload the board after a clear. And Even Warlock has enough threats that the opponent doesn't always have the opportunity to remove Wilfred on the turn he's played.
Malorne's ability isn't often useful. While it does allow you to escape fatigue, other cards like Jade Idol and Astral Tiger do that as well. What can be useful is the beast and deathrattle tags: you can resurrect him with Witching Hour and N'Zoth, the Corruptor.
Tirion was sort of the gold standard for under-costed legendary, and then Tarim busts on the scene, and it still took me a couple months to realize that Tarim is always the best pick from Stonehill Defender. Stonehill Defender is what really made Tarim shine. 3 Tarim's was basically an auto-win.
Thanks for the insight - much appreciated!
Would have been so nice if they had added Toki as payable hero for this pack.
Newcomers will get at least 8 legendaries GG
