Forcing suboptimal trades is always good.
Add more class shenanigans, and you get a solid legendary card.
Jaundice, eh? She doesn't look yellow to me...
Interesting mechanic but still a semi-lackluster card. I'm not super excited about any of the rogue legendaries this expansion.
Wow, a dual class card that actually fits both classes, and for completely different reasons, that's cool.
Rogue has bounce, mage has CC, and either of those can be played either on the 5 drop that you chose to die as soon as it takes damage or Jandice herself. There are also a few minions with taunt at 5 mana that would make killing the additional minion quite hard for anyone but mage. Even more than that, minions with deathrattles you would be ok with triggering...
I find it weird they chose to show the effect with two of the extreme low rolls you could get. If I were Blizzard, I'd show her summoning an Earth Elemental and a Waxadred or Convincing Infiltrator, but I guess we'll have to wait for the highlights for those.
I can see Shadowstep being used with this card almost always, especially if there is one worth bouncing and can take the debuff out of the equation.
Lackeys and CC for mage say hi
I think this card will be better than a lot of us are assuming. It’s not good on its own... but Hearthstone offers plenty of mana-cheating options for your “fragile” minion. Just immediately upgrade it with your Witchy Lackey or play Conjurer's Calling. Bamboozle has potential, though your opponent can usually play around it.
I don’t think this is nerf-bait, but I see it surprising us all in a tier 1 deck before the end of the year.
People have no idea how crazy strong this card is. Even if she summons two copies of herself which would make a good reddit post, it's still not much worse than Doppelgangster. The average outcome is far far better. What's crazier? She may not even make it into a meta deck. Ahh these days.
Does this mean we can tick off the Barov square on the Scholomance Bingo?
In Rogue there's a clear synergy with Bamboozle, but it's hard to imagine anything about that play would be secret - if your opponent sees you have a secret up, they'll assume Bamboozle, and depending on what 5-drops you get, may very easily determine which is the one that dies instantly (e.g. you're probably not going to make Earth Elemental the vulnerable one). So, it may be too easy to play around this even with support.
In Mage the case for this seems harder to make. There's no synergy with Spells Only Mages, where minion generation is particularly valuable, and currently there are no secrets like Duplicate and Splitting Image which would better support this the way Bamboozle does in Rogue.
All that said, I don't think this is a bad card. Obviously it's very vulnerable to any cheap AOE, but if result is that your opponent spends a card and you're left with a random 5-drop (albeit injured), that's a decent trade. And if your opponent doesn't have any AOE, they may be stuck attacking into what is admittedly a lot of tempo for the price, potentially making bad trades as they go to test for "instant death." And in cases where you get a particularly good deathrattle (e.g. Convincing Infiltrator, Waxadred, Totem Goliath, or Scrap Golem, etc.), the "instant death" downside may be easily mitigated.
Mage has Khadgar and Conjurer's Calling
Yeah, that's true, I guess I was imaging something you could set up for early, rather than a late game combo play, but these combos are totally valid.
Scholomance already has a lot of excellent 5 drops so that helps. I'd include the warrior legendary because it has rush,
It's a funny card that i just hope wouldn't be meta
Secretely give one "Enrage: Destroy this minion" LUL
What is enrage? I only know while damaged...
exactly
well hopefully one of the two is deathrattle...
Alright, so I just glanced over the 5-drops currently in Standard and...well none of them really have a benefit when destroyed...outside of Convincing Infiltrator and maybe Waxadred
As pointed out below, you're essentially paying 5-mana for a random 5-drop (of which there are many poorly statted ones) + two 1-health minions. The whole "Secret" aspect really only comes into play when there are two minions with comparable stats so there is no reason to pick one over the other. 90% of the time you're gonna piack the weaker one to die. I can only imagine a few very specific scenarios where you would choose the stronger minion to mindgame your opponent....but at the end of the day it won't matter anyways because any small 1-damage AoE takes care of two and reveals the other.
I don't think it's a bad card, but overall it's just going to...exist? OUtside of gimmicky ombos like Khadgar or Shadowstep there's just no real use for this other than to fill a vacant mana slot.
Its an amusing card, featuring a mechanic that we haven't yet seen before.
Unfortunately, I think its functionally too weak. A simple 1 damage AoE will instantly kill one of them and Jandice Barov as well, leaving you with a random 5 drop. Even something as simple as a ping with a reasonably amount of guesswork does it over. The lack of rush on any of the minions means you're in reality just playing Former Champ with a small upside most of the time so this is something that is only truly strong in an empty board. A tricky ask.
For rogue, Faceless Corruptor is a more consistent if not an outright better card, and for mage, well, maybe this can find a place in highlander, but little else.
There are some really nice 5 drops you can get. Earth Elemental, Headmaster Kel'Thuzad, Sandhoof Waterbearer, Convincing Infiltrator, almost any taunt minion will do. But again, its still just a chance, just as easy to get as Mortuary Machine or Abomination or hey, herself, potentially game ending rng summons. Especially since both classes can't really heal, I'd still think faceless corruptor's a better card.
