I opened my eyes and saw this....love at first sight! <3 <3
I don't think it's as good as everyone is giving it credit for, but hey face hunters are losing a lot of cards anyways (Trampling Rhino, Adorable Infestation, Demon Companion, Intrepid Initiate, Rinling's Rifle, Wolpertinger, Guardian Augurmerchant) so if it turns out to be insane then let them have it I guess.
Altough, If I see this in a standard questline hunter deck instead it does get significantly better so it's probably gonna find home there.
oh jesus mary and joseph what in the hell is this
Oh no...
I do not think this one will see that much play
Looks to be a solid Face Hunter card, since they do run a few decently-costed spells like Piercing Shot. It is not a Quest Hunter card, though, especially in Wild where Dragonbane does this card's job, but with more oomph.
At first I thought "Oh wow, this is really strong!" - but my second thought was: Lets say you play this while you have 7 mana, you spent 2 mana for the minion and then you play spells for 5 mana so the minion deals 5 face damage.
Don´t get me wrong a 2 mana minion which deals 5 face damage is nice for hunter - but at the current power level it doesn`t seem "very strong" for me. It has to stay on board more than one turn to get really powerful and that is quite unlikely with 3 health. But if there is a way to mana cheat this out or protect it in some way, this could be quite strong.
At the moment I see this card only as "potentially good" - but maybe it will not even make the cut at the end, because hunter normally want to play on curve and this is not a "curve card".
This card is still strong just getting 4 damage from it. That's 2 hero powers. Face Hunter likes all the chip damage it can get.
You would play this when you get your hero power to 0 mana with the quest.
The only bad part is drawing it too early.
Also this card is a distraction to shield you from a bit of damage because enemies will be forced to destroy it.
Not to mention discovering this card off RNG could be game winning in other classes.
Yeah there'S no way this isn't getting nerfed within a week. It's basically Il'gynoth for Quest Hunter, a deck that's already insanely good at just killing you.
Like..this is scaling spell damage. If you play a 1-mana spell it's a better Kobold geomancer and it only improves from there. This should cost at least 4-mana. It's not even limited to a tribe or spell school, it's just "fuck it, all your spells are now burn damage, you get up to 8-extra damage in one turn for just 2-mana" How is that fair?
When was the last time a match with hunter lasted until turn 10?
That's why I specified "up to". It doesn't need to deal 8. It just needs to deal enough to kill you. The fact that you can that much damage for basically free is insane and I don't understand how nobody picks up on it.
Probably because its fullest potential is an extra 8 damage. But realistically its probably doing around half of that, because hunters suck at control, so games will barely last more than 7-8 turns at best.
The scaling is best if you can copy this card, but if you can't and you run this solo, its only doing additional damage equal to what's left of your mana after playing this. How is that comparable to Il'gynoth, who can deal more than 70 damage?
Blizzard: This next expansion will have board-based strategies in play. Except Hunter! Hunter smorcs!
Hunter doesn't have another style other than face huh?
While I agree face is stronger Ickman worked out better than anticipated. With the new guy who adds colossal minions to the bottom and most colossals so far are beasts. I think that could be a really fun deck.
Yes this card is crazy powerful, I agree. I still think with with the right tools big beast hunter could still be a decent deck. It depends alot on what cards come in and what cards go out for other classes, especially in core. Still I have high hopes as it was my favorite deck of Alterac.
Blizzard Creative Team (Tom): Hey guys I have a cool unique and original idea for a card!
Blizzard: Yeah, what is it?
Tom: When face play taunt me still go face
Blizzard: Holy fuck that's unique original lets print that shit!
Actual Competent Blizzard Creative : Wait don't we have enough face hunter decks?
Blizzard: You're fired
Anyone remember spell hunter?
Oh F***. I'm already hating it.
Where was the "Let's give Wild a Theorycraft" when they printed this card?
I hope in this expansion other races get more defence ( Armor, Removal spell etc)
