Slowpoke of Quel'Thalas
So part of hunter's identity this time round is weapon attacks, but done in a such a way that resembles dhunter.
I guess they're pitting it all on Candleshot being meta for a time. Because you'd think that such a design decision would at very least feature a weapon that is functionally infinite or at least capable of being so. Without which, the entire archetype tends to fall apart fairly fast.
Im going to guess that the second half of hunter would be about arcane? Arcane Quiver was revealed earlier but there is yet an arcane spell that actually works well with it
Sadly the Weapon is way too expensive to be relevant in Wild, would have needed to cost 3 or 4 to find a home in a relevant deck like Copper Hunter.
As my friend JambaJooze pointed out though, Keeneye Spotter combos very nicely with Candleshot.
"Hope of Quel'thelas"
well, they're fucked then....
He also revealed a 7 mana neutral card along with the weapon. I do not speak French, but it was Acolyte something
That was Selfless Sidekick from Forged in the Barrens
Thank for info
I'm going to put the Spotter's flavour text here because it is simply too good not to: "No Rexxar, not the face, the minion right there. Yep that one righ-- Rexxar no!" XD
I was thinking that exact same thing 🤣 why print a minion that has a bonus effect for targeting minions when Rexxar only knows how to go face?!
As (former) Farstriders of Quel-thelas, I have to assume the Windrunner sisters were its intended companion heroes, but the poor spotter got tasked with working with Rexxar instead. I guess this sort of thing must be quite common within the Horde, where the disparate races have very different ways of doing things.
that weapon is pretty good, cuz it indicates that even if your minions are rezzed somehow or custom made by Zombeast they'll have that bonus
To work like that they'd have to make a C'Thun-like aura, which I doubt. More likely 'wherever they are' is just shorthand for board, hand and deck.
I'm not sure but maybe they did? Because the text says exactly the same wherever they are - as C'thun does :) If it's only in deck, hand and battlefield, why they just didn't mention it? As they did on Survival of the Fittest. So will see :)
I just checked with Warsong Wrangler (which uses the wherever they are wording), and it doesn't apply to either re-summons or subsequently generated copies. I expect it is preferable to specify all 3 domains, but card text space limitations sometimes force them into the 'wherever' wording.
yeah, you're probably right
that one weapon from alterac valley that boosts itself with a honorable kill probably shines with these, except the spotter for obvious reasons
