Quote From Blizzard As the Battle for Silvermoon rages on, a massive shadow blots out the sun. To their horror, the Blood Elves see a floating necropolis, Naxxramas, approaching their fair city. This evil entity is unnatural, but something about it feels familiar. They brace themselves and call for help. This is the March of the Lich King Mini-Set, Return to Naxxramas!
Return to Naxxramas, launching worldwide on February 14, consists of 38 new cards: 4 Legendary cards, 1 Epic card, 17 Rare cards, and 16 Common cards. Those new cards can either be opened in March of the Lich King Packs or purchased as a complete 72-card set.* Normal versions of the Mini-Set can be purchased in-game only, for 2000 Gold or 1500 Runestones. The all-Golden version can be purchased for $69.99 or, for the first time ever, 10,000 Gold. The Golden Mini-Set option also includes a bonus Diamond Legendary!
Return to Naxxramas unlocks Death Knight’s full potential with the class’s first Location and Colossal cards! But the Lich King isn’t the only one getting support. The Mini-Set also includes all-new Dual-Type minion creations, advanced synergies, and a terrifying new way to win the game! Check out the official Hearthstone Card Library for a full reveal calendar as the necropolis draws near.

We got a new amalgam! Two amalgams in the same rotation year, they are spoiling us
Deathrattle OTK Rogue - here I come :)
Not a fan of the rune system, and this dual-rune idea will be bound for failure, unless team5 pushes it hard.
The main problem with the rune system is that it simply does not allow for flexibility when choosing cards. The current frost, unholy and blood archetypes in the meta basically builds itself, I think its 90% similar to the one built by team5. So they designs these very powerful 3-rune cards, why wouldn't you just play a 3 rune deck with a really powerful card, instead of mixing and getting less powerful results.
And I fear its impact on the meta. All three rune decks are so extreme in their identity that it kinda warps the meta slightly. Blood decks will always be an auto win vs aggro, etc. And all this design fun team5 must be having also has unintended effects; discovering cards in DK is a lot stronger than in other classes because you can easily end up with powerful cards your deck should theoretically be unable to play. Not to mention the number of times I see Vampiric Blood being played out of discovers.
It doesn't help that Frost Queen Sindragosa is so painfully average, kinda like a more expensive Crabatoa, but with no face damage potential. Now, with the dual-rune requirement we can more or less be sure it'll never see play outside of discovers because imagine building a deck that doesn't play Frostwyrm's Fury or Vampiric Blood
The riders are cool. More likely to be played simply for the extra cards in the deck. Its hard to see this work though, because of the requirements, and susceptibility to silence. Maybe in druid? Because each of those riders do something and druid ramps, draws like the wind anyway.
Sindragosa i think is a good card held back/in check (whatever you prefer) by needing 2 diffrent runes.
While less face dmg in end then crabatoa, it does just kill any minion with its wings unlike crabatoa which is 4dmg.
ANd if lives or got enough mana (or just get with horn of winter) you can clear more with your other freeze cards
Naxx is out!!!
..not before Feb. 14th, or so I'm told ^^
Pretty dope, I wonder what a ainbow DK Legendary would look like.
I hope Colossal becomes a deciduous keyword like Immune, where they can put it in any set where appropriate. It's such a thematic and flexible effect.
They said before they’d use it again if appropriate. But it’ll likely be very very rare.
I feel like Zeliek, Conquestrider should be the actual card you can put in your deck, as he's clearly based on the First Horseman, which rides the white horse of victory.
Sorry for being a huge Bible nerd haha (I'm not even religious, I'm just really into mythology)
I like the idea of giving DK call-backs to the rest of the year instead of just giving them even more basic class identity stuff.
I also like the idea of "polychrome" cards that mix different runes, but I fear they will just end up as a failure. Right now Sindragosa is basically unplayable. You cannot build a functional deck around mixing Frost and Blood. Frost wants to just burn you down while stalling, but without Frostwyrm's Fury you can't do that. Blood just wants to outlast you, but without Vampiric Blood that doesn'T seem too great either....so essentially you're just mutilating two archetypes in order to play a gimped Crabatoa.
Also more Freeze for Frost DK, for some reason that was needed. I'm not even sure if it's better than Might of Menethil (which doesn't see play, just saying)
Also recycling Battlegrounds Art for Rivendare, which is weird.
This is not a new article; it's just a copy of the previous one.
Did you mean to do this?
You're visiting our guide for the mini-set. This is what will get updated throughout the reveal period and we'll be cross-linking to it on the main page each time there are new cards. Gives everyone the information they need and it's easier for us to update since it's pretty much just Blizzard doing reveals - outside of the one PCGamer one.
No. They're referring to the mislink on your frontpage: the article "New Legendary Rivendare, Warrider Joins Return to Naxxramas' Mini-Set and Brings the Horse Riders With Him" links to the page we're on right now and shouldn't.
You are mistaken.
It is fully intentional it links here.
There isn't a unique article created for the rivendare card reveal. I gave the feed item a title that says something about new cards, but the destination was intentionally to the guide.
That is extremely confusing, doubly-so because it contradicts how webpages usually work, including this one (as previous reveals had links to secondary pages even though edited culmulative pages like this one existed). You'd be better off changing the artwork and font to suggest that the second entry isn't an article at all, but a reminder of the previous article.
Edit: Also, the primary -- okay, the actual article -- doesn't have a direct link to the comments section on it.
I understand that this is a busy time btw and that y'all are working hard, but this implementation has some issues.
Yeah, this confused me at first, too. However, I think this will be a much better system moving forward: putting it all in one place with a new link to that place every time there's a new reveal.
With proper signposting, I can believe it.
After years of meme, it almost feels silly : Naxx's out?!
Cool to see that Death Knight is finally getting that new border.
