G'day! We've got some United in Stormwind mega pack bundles to give out courtesy of Blizzard. We're going to be doing something a little bit different this time around that involved deckbuilding with the new cards.

We are giving away THREE Mega Bundles in total in this giveaway.

How to Enter the Stormwind Deckbuilding Giveaway

1. Create a Hearthstone deck on Out of Cards via our deckbuilder and save it to the site.
   1. Your deck must contain some United in Stormwind cards.
   2. Your deck must have 30 cards in it.
   3. Your deck may be for the Standard or Wild formats.
   4. Your deck may be for any of Hearthstone's 10 classes.
   5. The name of your deck must be descriptive of the archetype.
   6. Your deck must have the "Theorycraft" tag.
   7. You may use an existing deck you have created on the site for United in Stormwind.
2. Write, at a minimum, a 2 paragraph guide (170-200 words total) to teach players how to play your theorycrafted deck.
   1. Your guide is written after your deck gets saved from the deckbuilder. Click on the "Edit Guide" button on your deck page.
   2. Guide plagiarism is grounds for disqualification.
   3. Try to talk about the new cards and how they work with the archetype.
3. Embed your saved deck as a reply to this thread using the "BBCode" found above the deck list.

How Winners Will be Chosen

• One bundle will be given away to a deck guide author as chosen by Out of Cards staff.
  • We will be judging the guides and picking the "best" one to receive the bundle.
  • We're ultimately going to pick a guide that does its best to educate the community on their theorycraft deck.
  • Formatting will be considered, so make use of headings, horizontal rules, and other available options where it makes sense.
  • Tips: Do not change the default font sizes or fonts. Do not bold your entire text. Do not use text colors (card bbcode is okay though!). Link cards using card bbcode.
• Two bundles will be given away randomly to two deck guide authors (one bundle each).
  • All respondents to this thread that follow the above rules will have their name entered once into a list.
  • The list will be inserted into random.org and we will have the site pick two winners for us.
• The number of upvotes on your deck do not matter, though we do encourage participants to find decks they like from other community members and give them some appreciation using the upvote function.
• If we find anyone abusing the downvote mechanic on decks, you will be disqualified.
• Staff are unable to win the bundle that is chosen by staff members.

How Winners Will be Contacted

• We will be contacting winners via private message on Out of Cards.
• The competition entry period ends on August 2 at 9 AM Eastern.
• We expect to post the winners list in a news article, and private message the winners, by 11 AM Eastern on August 2.

You don't see something as gloriously weird as Maestra of the Masquerade without at least trying to make practical use of it beyond just bamboozling the opponent at the start of the game. The dream is to somehow exploit it with Tess Greymane, but that has problems with not being able to run anything other than rogue and neutral cards, so you'll quickly return to a normal burgle rogue except for being able to get a couple of extra cards from Maestra's pretend class with things like Wandmaker. 

That's fine, but not exciting.

Then it hit me. The most glorious little unused meme card that turns our hopes for a meme into reality. Behold, Wyrmrest Purifier!

Originally intended for Pure Paladin, now used to make a genuine, bona fide dual-class deck. No need to waste time generating cards, just transform all your neutrals at the start! And if you don't draw the purifier early, no worries because you can make a fully competent deck that just happens to run Maestra, Tess and 2x Purifier.

Will it be good? No. But is it the sort of thing that I keep playing HS for? Absolutely!

With the new expansion drawing closer and all the cards revealed, what do you guys think are the best cards from UiS, or ones that will see lots of play? What are the sleepers and potentially broken cards of the set? I'll start: 

Defend the Dwarven District - Even before seeing this in play in the theorycrafting streams, people were already predicting this to be really strong, and it is. Very easy to complete too; opponents are gonna have to race it down or tank up in order to avoid the inevitable.

Entitled Customer - Just a ridiculous board clear. Any Control Warlock deck in standard and wild will definitely run this. 

Alliance Bannerman - This is a card that will boost handbuff decks. You draw a minion, buff all minions in your hand, and you stick a 2/2 body on board. 

Voidtouched Attendant - If Shadow Priest becomes a thing, this 1-drop with premium stats will enable some OTKs. 

Battleground Battlemaster - A scary card that will be run in board-centric decks. 

Overdraft - Can unlock some burst damage for Shaman, especially in Wild. 

Bolner Hammerbeak - Nerf candidate, has the potential to terrorize Wild. This could enable some OTKs. 

Fun cards that I don't think will be competitive:

Raid the Docks - I love the flavor of this questline, but I'm not sure what kind of deck you can build around this. Maybe a control deck? Either way, I'm still crafting this for fun as a Warrior main. 

The Demon Seed - I watched Regis play this, and it looks incredibly fun. Balancing between life and death all game, then ultimately killing your opponent in fatigue just looks so satisfying. That said, this probably won't stand a chance against aggro decks. 

Just quickly pointing out that Noggen-Fog Generator gives a minion full stealth, not just for 1 turn, making it the only option in the game to give any minion quasi-permanent stealth since Master of Disguise got nerfed.

Most of the time that isn't super important, and it almost certainly won't ever be meta-relevant, but it does open a lot of doors for meme rogue players. Basically any card with a useful 'end of turn' effect, or one that triggers whenever X happens, would love permanent stealth. Shadowjeweler Hanar is an obvious choice to annoy the hell out of your opponents in Standard, while Wild has everything from Sonya Shadowdancer and Spirit of the Shark up to Troggzor the Earthinator and Mayor Noggenfogger* himself.

* You might need a bit of luck to actually hit him though :P

Deckbuilding is limited a bit by needing a bunch of SI:7 cards to reach Spymaster Scabbs and guarantee a Noggen-Fog Generator, but they at least provide a functional starting point for the deck, so that's OK.

That's all I had to say really. It got my creative juices flowing, so maybe it'll do the same for someone else too.

Is there any information about the usual firesite gathering this weekend? Usually you can set up an event Friday-Sunday before the expansion comes out, will it with this time?

Can someone confirm if this is happening to them too? Whenever I try to play it pops up the prompt to pay money or gold or exit except it doesn't make it fully to the screen. It stays blurred in the background. All I can do is exit.

Does anyone know how those two will Interact?

Could i put C'thun in my deck and still enter Shadowform with Benedictus at the start of the game? Because if C'thun happens before him not all my spells are Shadow Anymore and therefor he will not grant me Shadowform right?

Which one proccs first?

I could not find It Reported anywhere else so I thought about making a post about It.

So I was checking my Barranca achivements (as I just finished one) and noticed some of them still had Chest around them. It seems like all Golden Cards given through the battlepass can be obtained vía achivements since last patch.

Even Golden Shadowhunter Voljin is invluded

These requieres owning the original Card, But I feel this is great for the long term! 

This rewards are still undustable. Will try to finish one of them to get a duplicate and see what happens.

It seems that Diamond Samuro Will still be a tavern pass exclusive though.

Hi guys, I saw a notification that in 5 days Duels would be rotating cards, should I leave a Heroic Duels run with 2 loses so I get a free ticket like in arena?

After the latest patch I'm unable to play on my Amazon Fire tablet.  I uninstalled/reinstalled and I can play when selecting the "I'm new" button but when I select "Log in" it goes back the opening hearthstone screen and freezes.  I saw a thread on the tech support forums of people saying they had the same issues and also made a post there.  Has anyone else experienced this or somehow found a work around?  Thanks for any help.

Thoughts?

We're in the middle of the last Weekly Card Design Competition of Season 3 and I'd like to discuss how all you awesome people feel about these competitions in general as well as your suggestions for changes. Since everybody and their mother will try out the shiny new Stormwind cards next week, I think waiting for Season 3 to end before giving Shadows & friends something to ponder wouldn't work very well.

So here are my two cents:

The WCDC has become a constant part of my weekly schedule, I think I haven't missed one of them since we got started on OOC. I'm super grateful for Shadows and all other members of the staff for creating this space on the site that encourages creativity, engagement with likeminded people and an opportunity to earn internet fame points. You are awesome!

The little grain of salt I've tasted this season came with the finalists votings. Participation goes down in that second voting phase and I really don't agree with people dishing out 1 star votes for perfectly cool cards just to push their favorite contestant. I admit both of these issues are very hard to overcome, but I have a few ideas I'd like to discuss with everybody who cares to do so:

1) Expand the rating system

I think it was DestroyerR who first used a fixed system of categories for their feedback posts in the discussion threads and maybe that's a good idea to help people rate cards a bit more objectively. I'd suggest a 5 star rating in three categories for every submitted card: Flavor, Balance and Execution (= no spelling mistakes, no watermark issues, ...). The average of these ratings would result in the voting person's overall rating for that card (there are arguments for and against showing that overall rating to the voter, but I don't want to go too far down this road without knowing if it's technically possible and what y'all think about the general idea). This idea should also reduce the number of ties since the final rating of a card would be the average of an average.

2) Cut the Finalists Voting

I get that the Finalists Voting adds some flavor and excitement to the competition, it's a little nod of appreciation to people who got close to winning. The decrease in participation in these votes compared to the first voting stage just isn't worth it though imho. The more people are voting, the more valid is the result of the vote.

3) Rewards & Leaderboards

While I'm very proud to wear my avatar border, it would be cool to dish out more rewards for doing well in the competitions. I'm thinking of site currency, forum titels, stuff like that - most importantly, these shouldn't be given to the winners exclusively, but to a to be determined number of runners up as well. Last but not least, why not add seasonal and eternal Leaderboards to the site, based on a system that rewards points for wins and runner up placements (win = 10 points, second place = 5 points, third = 4, ... whatever).

Well, those are my ideas, now I'd be curious what you think about them and I'd be happy to see some suggestions of your own :-)

Really hoping this falls on the right eyes (again). How many years has HS been around? Why, can someone tell me, can we not craft decks with the new cards in them BEFORE the expansion launches????

It is so frustrating to have it land and there you are scrambling to put something together when you just want to PLAY with the cards you spent good money on??

The tragedy of course is how much enjoyment is being lost in this week leading up where it would be so much fun to get the deck building out of the way, pruning and reexamining it, then when it releases all you'd have to do is craft the cards you didn't get and be ready to go!!

Why do they continually sabotage their game with these silly super obvious oversights?

NOTE: I'm well aware you can do this on outside sites and import it but it doesn't have the same charm and is a pain in the ass to navigate.

I'm hoping this falls on the right eyes. I really hate how reveal season works. Dropping 80 cards on us like this really stinks. I for one really enjoy the slow drip of cards because it gives me something really exciting to watch during meals and enjoy hearing each streamers take on them.

When it's all dumped like this it takes all of the magic out of it. It's a bunch of new cards that hit the brain as less special because there's too much coming at it too fast

I would prefer it greatly being released evenly e.g. 4 cards a day over the course of a month. This would add to the fun of the anticipation and the spectacle of talking about cards leading up to the actual release 

Why do they sabotage their game like this?
