YES This goes so well with the new Mage ranked spell, Freeze Mage was my favourite classic deck, can't wait to try this guy out. 5/5

Excellent. Glad Flurry was revealed first so we'd have an idea of what it can synergize with.

I don't know why but I was expecting something...newer? This is effectively just Frost Nova + body and a bonus effect

Freezing the whole board isn't bad. If nothing else it will see play for that. If you are able to combo this with the upgrading mage spell though, the effects could be devastating.

A Frostnova or a Flame Strike- good either way for 4mana

The fact that it freezes everything and develop a 3/3 is decent enough. Its a stall card though, I just don't think it'll fit into other decks. Dealing 4 damage to a frozen minion is kinda an extra that's only occasionally useful.

Flurry (Rank 1) is still the better card in both stall and tempo, in my opinion.

Frost Nova with a body and sometimes can give damage if you can freeze than before playing Varden

Ice Lance to all enemy minions. Glad it's not "all enemy characters".

It's already here! Flurry (Rank 2) + this on 5 will pick apart most boards.

I love this new direction for Freeze Mage, and I really love that Glacier Racer is totally playable now.

The two aren't in competition. They are supposed to work together. This Freeze Mage isn't going to work the same as the one you are used to.

Very strong card! Wished they'd be a 3 drop so can be used in the same deck with Kazakus. But I guess 3 mana frost nova with a body and extra effects is a bit too much to ask.

Also, the effect is nice, but does a Mage, that uses freezes really wanna use 2 of them on one target, when you could just freeze it twice?

Frost nova attached to a 3/3. Paired with Flurry (Rank 1) it's ok. Underwhelming for a legendary though.

A four mana Frost Nova with a body and synergizes with Flurry (Rank 1) for a cheap former Flamestrike level of removal. Needless to say, the AoE freeze is a proven effect in Mage, so I definitely see this being competitive across multiple Mage decks, and even possibly so in more aggressive Mages thanks to the efficient body on Varden Dawngrasp.

The combination of effects in one card for such a small price is insane. The only good news in the middle of this is that, since Varden Dawngrasp is legendary, there won't be many instances of multiple copies being played for extra stall power. And lets not forget that mage has two possible control based win conditions: Mordresh Fire Eye, yet another card that does too much at the same time (although he actually has a requirement for that effect) and C'Thun, the Shattered, who is a pretty good win condition in his own right (just because the current meta is volatile towards atrition based win conditions, it doesn't mean the Barrens meta won't be).

Good. Hopefully not consistent enough that freeze becomes oppressive. 

Ah poop, more Freeze for Mage ;-; At least it's in a much more limited form. Being tied to a minion is also important since there are fewer sources of Discover/random generation effects that can clutch it out.

This expansion has a whole host of cards so far that my immediate reaction to is, "Well... finally!" 

We've seen so many iterations on this idea in community card design contests that it's amazing its taken so long to have it on a legendary, but here we are! I love it.

Reasonably costed Legendary allows for fun experimentation and wombo combos - I foresee that this is the case here - Hourray!

Imagine this with Brann Bronzebeard in Wild. I bet this goes into every highlander deck from now on.

With so many freeze support cards this will definitely be in a lot of mage decks

Not much needs to be said here. Its an insanely good card because its frost nova when mage has lost frost nova. Will it be played everywhere? No. Will it be played? Yes.

Spells on a stick almost always see play. Frost nova with a body and now that frost nova is gone, means this sees play

This is a great card, synergizes really well with the new 0-mana Mage spell (Flurry (Rank 1)). That is a massive board clear if the effect can be triggered, and Frost Nova with a body at the very least. 

Be great with Blizzard.

Definitely seems promising but I don't see this "freeze" package slotting into the same deck as Mordresh Fire Eye. The freeze options available to us currently kinda look more control oriented, so should be interesting what mage can do once expansion launches.

Hey everyone, we found Frost Nova! There it is, but now as a legendary card. Varden Dawngrasp is very good, and it has a potential upside of dealing damage to already frozen minions. Varden Dawngrasp is also very strong alongside freeze effects like Flurry (Rank 1), Cone of Cold and other freeze synergy like Glacier Racer. Yeh Varden Dawngrasp has a bright future in standard, and in wild it might be pretty good in highlander mage and probably EVEN-Mage.

Good control card, amazing to combe with Flurry at higher ranks!

This guy plus the rank spell in going to be great plus you can also combo it with Glacier racer and a spell .Plus this is a great card with the other legendary to gen some time on your hero power mini quest to get the battlecry of dealing 10 damage to all enemies .

This card will be annoying to play against.

Frost Nova is always useful! I would expect some fancier ability from a legendary though

Glacier Racer + Flurry (Rank 3) + Varden Dawngrasp = mega aoe+freeze for 5 mana. Sweet.

Great in Control Mage since Frost Nova is leaving and they need a replacement, great in Tempo Mage with cards like Flurry (Rank 1) and Glacier Racer. Lots of potential.

Frost Nova is a 3 mana spell, for 1 mana more you get a 3/3 body and a conditional Flamestrike on top (if already frozen). That is obviously pretty good

It's pretty solid if you are able to pair it with a frost effect, but even with a Frost Nova, you're looking at a 2 card combo to do what Flamestrike does. 

Freeze mage is back.  Will it be as powerful as earlier incarnations?  Hard to say, but this will help.  

I fear a Freeze/Spell damage hybrid coming out that makes opponents sit and watch all their minions frozen and dying without feeling like they get to interact...

If your mind have to be quick (Because Saurfang tell it in the expansion teaser video) is very easy if everything else is frozen.

I like the direction for freeze mage, without some of the crappier OTK bull. This is fantastic (obvs) in freeze mage, but can still be useful for stall or control. 

We've seen Flurry, and now this. I think we might be seeing a freeze mage soon.

A legendary frost nova?... ok

Not really a Mage player, but those freezes are getting boring.. Kinda like ressurection in priest, annoying and too much of it in wild

Battlecries are more reliable than spells, and this is Frost Nova on a stick, with a bonus. I think it will see play, considering that Frost Nova sees some play.

In wild, it doesn't really matter that it costs more than Frost Nova when you can run all three cards and buy an extra turn. Dangerous.

With cost reduction of some Twinspell cards, you have a 3/3 body and Flamestrike on Turn 4.

Quite good imho. In worst case scenario is a Frost Nova with a body for a 1 mana more, but Mage have ran always some spell that freeze. So  killing someone and freezing someone else to stall the board for 4 mana is nice

No real opinion on the card, but I’m definitely interested in learning more about the character.

Frost Nova is good. For 1 more mana you get a 3/3 body with it. And then on top it can also deal damage if you really want to.

Great in combination with other freeze effects, solid without. Why would you not play this card in mage?

Even if you can't deal the damage just the freeze effect is great.

Very nice replacement for Frost Nova, and works almost as well with Glacier Racer. I like what this card does. They fit well enough into most Mage strategies that it feels like they will be a part of most Mage decks in the coming meta. Solid stall/removal attached to a fairly cheap body is just a good card.

Mega Ice Lance. Seems kind of cool, but is there enough support for this Standard. Not sure. Although, a Frost Nova with a 1 mana 3/3 seems decent enough to run.

Frost nova with a body.  What's not to like.

Seems like a strong but boring card. If the pros are telling me to play Varden then they'll find their way into my deck, but otherwise I just don't care about this kind of card. 

Frost Nova on a stick is pretty good value, but if you wait and play it with Frost Nova it's more like Flamestrike on a stick, but it requires two cards.  Either way it's just an okay card, but where this really shines is versatility.
