It's another ranked spell in disguise* ... I am enjoying this trend.
*a cheap card that gains additional value in the late game
Wow this looks bad. I guess it pairs well with the new spell that burns cards from your deck? But in the late game when this will actually activate, it doesn't even go face.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
I like it. Vanilla stats +lifesteal, but big bonus damage/healing later
Looks like blizz wants to push Envoy Rustwix mechanic, but needs more shuffle/copy cards.
By The Holy Light!
I don't understand what you mean, this wants you to have a small number of cards in your deck. This has direct anti-synergy with any sort of shuffle card
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Decent Card but not sure if this will realy see play - maybe but right now i think this will not be worth it to play over other cards.
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
I don't see where this fits current Warlock game-plans. as a generic 3/3 with life steal it is only ok. And late-game in zoo, am I looking for minion damage or face damage?
Sacrifice warlock coming in!
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
Nice spot removal for control variants that rely on waiting for your deck to be low. Could also be good for 'late' game zoo when you've drawn your deck low.
Easy effect to archive and really powerful, even without lifesteal. Its time to go back to game which lasts 1h.
Murlocs <3
Maybe in control warlock with the new jaraxxus?I like the effect but until you have 10 cards left that kind of hurts ,but hey tickatus synergie if you dont corrupt it.I can just see this dead in your hand until you have 10 cards left but maybe we get more cards that help it or in the mini set later .
Really cool design! Don't think it's enough for Soul Rend to be good, but this could be slotted into Zoo or Control, since Zoo mills themselves pretty quickly and Control really likes the health boost.
3 cost 3/3 lifesteral is already good enough and now if you top deck it late in the game it is also creature removel. niceeeee
A good card to save you later one, but if you are already winning, this is not the card to play. So something for extreme controldecks.
Good effect brought down by bad condition and overall costs. The 4 mama flamestrike is great to enable this, but the fact that this only hits a minion and you hit you own minions with the other spell and likely have no board to fight with means this won't see play until either an overpowered synergy card is printed or this is adjusted to go face
Really like this. 3/3 life steal for 3 is alright. But the deal 6 gain 6 at the late game is nice. Warlocks can burn through their deck fast enough that this guy is likely to actually kill what he hits.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
Looks quite good with the lifesteal
This is a card you don't want to have in your first 20 cards. Most of the time you will. And then it's either just a 3 mana 3/3 or has to sit in your hand the whole game.
Look, I really love this idea of a self-milling Warlock deck that constantly balances on the edge of life and death...but the nature of the game makes it so you just don't have control over what parts of your deck you end up destroying.
NOt to mention...Warlock has Tickatus. Tickatus will win you the game just by making your opponent die faster than you. Why would I, on top of that, want to nuke my own deck, throw away that advantage, just to get a tad of extra healing?
10 cards is not a lot. There are 30 cards in your deck. Getting down to 10 will take a while, even if you aggressively melt your own cards.
I suspect the second Warlock legendary will synergize with this in some way, but it will have to be very good to justify this playstyle.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
It's still a 3/3 with lifesteal, which is at least something, but I think there are better options
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
The idea is empty your deck quickly using your HP and cards like Soul Rend or Tickatus and refill it with extremly good cards like Envoy Rustwix does, thats why i am talking about shuffle/copy cards. Blood Shard Bristleback would work as a defensive tool when your deck is low on card and you didn't start to refill it.
By The Holy Light!
Acolyte of Agony didn't see any play and was a 3 mana 3/3 LS.
By The Holy Light!
You could also run this in a zoo that draws the deck really quick, still I don't think you want minion removal and lifeasteal, I guess you are looking for more agression at that point, but it could work though.
Eh, I'm just not seeing a viable deck that wants to destroy (not discard) itself to get some type of late(r) game benefit. Unless there's a Warlock Legendary at some point with Battlecry: You take no Fatigue damage this game. Even then, probably not lol. This is okay in a regular deck. The healing is nice.
it would be bad in zoo for the simple reason that it's a dead draw early on and the deck really benefits from exploding onto the board quickly.
Also Manari Mosher is much better for recovery anyways
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Okay, this is one of the cards that you want to put to the bottom of the deck using the sphere of sapience.
card is good, but keeping a 3 mana 3-3 in hand most of the game is questionable, some kind of deck discard inc
Late game cheap control Warlock heal with a body.
Good. Good.
Papa Nurgle wants to share his gifts.
6 lifesteal!
Actually quite decent. Warlock can always use good healing, and they go through their deck quite quickly. Shame the quest rotates though.
There are a lot of cards with conditional effect going round this expansion.
Disclaimer: if the above is factually incorrect or complete rubbish it is definitely both intentional and comedy genius.
Good stats for the cost with a small upside. Warlock has a few ways of milling through their deck.
Ribbit
Not convinced on the self milling archetype. Yes it has instant damage with lifesteal but more than often this could end up as a dead card in your hand
English is not my native language, so please excuse occasional mistakes
good effect but... nah... wont see play
not sure if it deserves a slot ...
I am 69 years old and still reach Legend
I think I'm following you here... So one uses burny guy to burn up one's deck, envoy rustwix a bunch of primes in there, tappity tap tap tap, and heal-a-roo remove-a-do with this guy later... Hmmmm... Seems fun but unlikely to work?
Chumbawumba is the worst band name.
Need to see more cards revealed to evaluate this.
Banned for spamming.
Really cool design. Pretty good in warlock, where you already draw a lot of cards, and maybe it can help with warlocks new theme of burning and milling their own cards. I'm really interested at what the big pay-off card will be for this strategy, and if it's good enough to even play an uncorrupted Tickatus to mill your own deck. (Who knows, maybe we will see a Mecha'thun style of card printed as a warlock win-con that's not Tickatus?)
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
I like the design, but the requirement may be hard to achieve.
OBLIVION!
You really don´t want to draw this early, it´s kinda "FeelsBadMan" feeling.
♡ u 4ever 2008 - 2022
Love the idea. Hope there's more more support for the archetype coming.
Interesting to see how many people think that the card is weak, I was already jamming it in all sorts of Warlock decks. I do agree it's quite lackluster without the effect proccing but when it does it's amazing tempo.
i dont know what to think about this card is a strong minion with lifesteal, but i think the downside of the battlecry make this card too much inconsistent, but lets see if this will be good or not
It heals for 6 and deals 6. That's very tempting honestly.
Unless there's better ways to either temporarily remove your deck, or to refill your deck, I can't see any warlock blasting through their deck trying to make this work.
Good card, possibly awesome with the right support
I like this card, but the chances of warlock playing it before next rotation, might not be high, but who knows.
Cool card, but idk what deck this goes into?
FeelsBAD. Need synergy.
Seems like a solid card that warlocks can pretty easily get good use out of. Not good for all locks, but great in control and card draw heavy decks
At first sight seems weak, but is a huge tempo swing on late game.
Very good imho
Sinergy with the new spell that burns cards? Seems difficult to trigger
Very conditional, i doubt it will see play
Sounds like such a niche card, I'd assume it's good for early healing and maybe getting rid of a key enemy minion.
This synergizes well with Soulock and their tendency to draw, but not super powerful over all. 3/5
4 Mana 7/7
Decent minion in quite a few Warlock archetypes
I am envoy from nowhere in nowhere. Nobody and nothing have sent me. And even though it is impossible I exist. ©Trimutius
Really bad card :/ Cant think if a deck with this in it.
Very good card! Save it for the end of the game to get a great reward!
Maybe Soul Rend won't suck as much? More often than not if you can trigger it, it will remove something, and restoring 6 health should be nice. Otherwise it's a 3/3 lifesteal for 3. Meh.
3/3 with lifesteal is just ok. Good pick in Arena though.
I'd say this might be surprisingly better than expected on control Warlock. Sure, the deal 6 to a minion with Lifesteal sounds pretty big, but attrition match-ups don't care about HP that much, so the battlecry effect will basically be "destroy a mid-size minion on turn 12" or something of the sort.
The reason why I can see control Warlocks adding Blood Shard Bristleback to their decks is the fact that Blood Shard Bristleback is a 3/3 Lifesteal for 3, which means he'll come into the board in the early game to contest the opponent's early plays and try to delay aggro decks before you can stabilize. He might not succeed in that task (the statline is still vulnerable to value trading from lower cost minions), but I can see him being tried, maybe in a deck that also includes Man'ari Mosher as another early game anti aggro tool.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
I'm sure there are some brave warlock players out there who will make the most of this reckless card lol.
I have no clue how to rate this card. I've never been able to get a handle on playing warlock anyway. I think I'm just risk averse and the prospect of trading health or cards (tapping and discards) for a power spike is hard for me to learn how to use. We'll see how this one turns out.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
Well, for 3 mana, and given that it is on a stick, if it had also went face, it would be totally unfair.
It's a situational control card at best, not a win condition per say
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
It's a neat idea. I like that Warlock is getting some new flavor with this and the other new card, as well as Envoy Rustwix. It'll be fun to see where it goes. And a 3-3 with Lifesteal ain't too bad on its own!
Better call Thrall!
Seems slow
Rogue DH
3-3 life steal good, with 6 damage, really good
really not a good card since you have to go thru 2/3 of your deck to benefit the battlecry. Stats are ok for a 3 drop best thing it has going is the lifesteal.
First impression is this would fit well in Darkglare zoo with the Nightshade Matron and the Hand of Gul'dan Combo. In a 4 set meta, zoo might even run Backfire which synergizes with this.
Not really sure how this can be used, but it's interesting nonetheless. Maybe a fast Warlock deck that draws lots of cards can make full use of it. I'll have to wait and see whether any other Warlock cards can synergize with this to form a new archetype.
Seems a little too gimmicky. I feel like this is the sort of card they print when they don't want to support the classes current archetype too much. They try to push a weird new game plan that usually doesn't work.
That is a quite good card.
Super cool card, that was the synergy I was looking for.
I like it
I've been here a while; just hanging out in the background.
So deck depletion synergy is a thing now? Well, why not? This card is really good when triggered and as we all know Warlocks can empty their decks pretty fast.
This card has some nice healing potential but that restriction seems like a high bar to consistently accomplish. We need to see some more insane support for this type of deck thinning or this card won't see play.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Doubt it will see much play
I'm not online it's just your imagination
You need to see this as a 3 mana 3/3 lifesteal, which is nice in Warlock, with an upside that in late control game it can deal 6 damage and heal you for
-=alfi=-
well that just makes it bad because noone would play a 3-mana 3/3 with lifesteal that does nothing else for 2/3s of the game
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
That doesn't seem great, but I'm assuming there is more support coming other than that one warlock spell.
This is basically Omega Devastator, which saw play in control decks quite a lot. Deals less damage but heals you, which is great in Warlock.
-=alfi=-
Only good enough in Arena.
false. Omega Devastato saw play because
a) 10 damage is a lot
b) it only needed 10-mana...not 10 cards left in game
on all accounts Bristleback is much much worse than Omega Devastator, a card that wasn't even that good to begin with (for the exact same reason, being that if you didn't have it active it's dead weight in hand)
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
too weak of a pay off for destroying your own deck
I assessed too quickly, didn't think about the fact that the Lifesteal would activate on the battlecry as well. I was thinking about ZooLock (seen too many of them recently) and how quickly they pull through the deck, but you're right, this is a control tool, and a damn good one, if you can last that long
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
Obviously this has some nice synergy with Soul Rend and an uncorrupted Tickatus, but it's also just a decent tempo play in the late game, sort of like a tiny version of Omega Devastator. Seems strong.
Damn this seems good.
Too situational.... But effect is quite good.
Seems meh we need more support to destroy our deck.
just meh card
Brilliant to see, no deck warlock is becoming a reality.
At this point I have spent too much money on these games to quit.
Now pass me another pack, and lets see what I pull.
Man, I would LOVE to see more "if your deck contains 10 or fewer cards" effects, but I would prefer them to be powerful effects that help close out the game. This one seems like it will more frequently draw the game out longer. This will see play in Duels, at least.
This mechanic is a super neat idea, but I feel like it probably won't work that well in practice. At least not yet.
Control Tickatus Warlock became even more insane
good card
Kenny's little poet. 😇
OK for the lifesteal early game, with an upside late game in the self-mill deck.
Whoah! The new Warlock archetype is remove cards instead of adding them to your deck (with the soul stuff from scholomance)
For The HORDE!
"I can't wait to synergize with this this Discard deck! See, he's playing Tickatus right no-"
Too much waiting for this one, but the payoff might be worth it in something like Supreme Archaeology kind of deck.
I like this in Control decks. On turn 3 its a Lifesteal minion, but later on it will probably destroy a minion and heal 6. Unluckily Brittlebone Destroyer is still available and is stronger imho.
Horrible. Can't even go face.
Would likely be really degenerate if it could go face, what a finisher that would be. As is, kinda too slow, but I could be underestimating this.
Burst-healing in warlock is never bad, especially if it comes with removal. The only issue I could see is that in aggro matchups you usually needs healing way before your deck is empty enough...
Blood Shard Bristleback is basically an Acolyte of Agony until later in the game. The tricky thing is that you want the six damage earlier on in the game, and that damage starts to fall off later in the game once the effect becomes active. Thinning your deck with cards like Soul Rend don't seem effective as you risk discarding Bristleback. Overall, I think you'd want to focus more on removal that works when you want it to.
For glory, honor, and gold!
Loved it :)
If the self mill warlock works this is an easy include...as long as you don't burn it first.
not terribly sure about burn your own deck warlock - but this effect is really strong if triggered
Obvious inclusion in Fatiguelock, probably not good enough anywhere else.
Arena > Wild > Standard
good
Decent removal and stabilization for Toss Warlock, if you get deep enough in your deck for the Battlecry to actually work. Otherwise it's a 3/3 with Lifesteal, which is OK. I'm not picking up what Tosslock is putting down, if you catch my meaning.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Kinda bad
Seems like a decent way to make it through those last couple of turns until you can play Neeru Fireblade.
~ An expertly disguised dinosaur
i dont care about this for self-milling, but I can see a lot of play in some long-play control decks.
Nice one for discard warlock. And maybe in other types of decks, but in late game
The fact that the Battlecry also has Lifesteal makes it a very strong card. Without the Battlecry it's still pretty decent
3/3 lifesteal with a bonus, not bad
Strong value card late game. Possible 9 heal.
can be ok on its own
Seems alright as long as you don't actually try and do a self Mill Warlock. Just use it as a good tool in a Control Warlock for the later game.
Welcome to the site!
good removal/sustain tool for self mill lock
Another card that seems pretty good, but only if you make it to the late game. I feel like warlock doesn't really struggle finding good plays on later turns. Maybe if you're playing zoo-lock and you happen to go past turn 17, but by then you're likely to be struggling no matter what.
Decent effect late game, tho it kinda sucks early game.
decent stats, good effect for sacrifice lock
