What makes a deck hard? I guess the learning curve for some decks is a bit longer than others, but anyone can learn any deck reasonably quickly. Just play it a bit.
I always draft greedy pretty much regardless what treasures I get. The only time I would consider trying a slightly lower curve (yet always picking good legendaries if given the chance) was if I took the +1/+1 passive (Captured Flag) from the start.
For treasures, Robes of Gaudiness, Rocket Backpacks and Glyph of Warding are some of my favourite picks. The first two should be autopicks (robes not if you went for board flood tactic). Potion of Vitality, Expedite and Crystal Gem help if you have a strong deck but might need some time to get rolling. I also tend to pick [Hearthstone Card (Wondorous Wisdomball) Not Found] if none of the above are available.
Haven't played anomalies yet so I don't know how they'd affect my choices.
When I started playing Wild, my first picks were cheap decks, as this one:
Aggro Overload Shaman. Sir Finley Mrrgglton is replaceable. You can also replace something with: Sludge Slurper or other cheap spells. You can steamroll with this deck to rank 10 and if you master it enough, rank 5 is also perfectly achievable. A strategy is to pressure and distract your opponent with powerful early minions and board control, then you start cycle spells and burst the face. Overload management is of a high importance.
So I took a good look at your deck and I am going to comment on some things. I have not played this deck as at this moment I'm unable to play Hearthstone at all.
You are working with 3 different types of cards here; Taunt, Rush and Beasts. These are all put into a highlander deck using Reno Jackson.
RUSH The reason to play rush minions is because of three cards drawing your rush minions, thus providing your highlander deck with the desperately needed draw that it needs to survive. These three cards are Akali, the Rhino, Countess Ashmore and Town Crier. The first two cards are high cost cards that need to either be played by themselves or by utilizing the rush mechanic from Oondasta. I'd say that's too late in the game to even need the draw to survive against aggro. I will put up some questions for you: -Why are you not using Town Crier (one of the best card draws in the game)? This mechanic lets you draw specific cards you need to survive your opponent's aggresion. -Untamed Beastmaster seems to only be worth the pick when played in combination with Countess Ashmore. Is that worth it? How many beast that profit from being buffed are still in your deck by turn 10 (using the combo)? -How quickly are you running out of steam? You seem to only be using card draw cards of 7 and 8 mana, with a maximum draw of 4 cards. -You are running quite some deathrattle minions and you could use a good board swing as win condition. As you are playing WIld mode anyway, every considered running [Hearthstone Card (N'Zoth, The Corrupter) Not Found]?
Lets tweak this, Ill play the deck to tune this deck more, seems fun. Ill be back later :)
Just wanted to say that that this deck is an absolutely blast to play and helped me get legend this season (playing this and Jade Druid). The amount of stats and burst that it can generate is bonkers, and its fantastic to see chillblade champion get his day in the sun at last. If anyone wants to play a competitive deck that is fun to play and also hates mirror matches lol (didn't play against one all month), definitely give this a go. Edit - I actually ran the anti- control version he highlighted in his twitter link minus the card draw. The point stands - both are great decks.
1) Renolock. Missing: Zola (replacible?), Kazakus, Godfrey, and Mal'Gantis.
Pros: Competitive, and looks pretty fun. Cons: Not great Big Priest matchup, which I hate. Also, it's pretty expensive.
2) Darkest Hour Warlock: Missing: 2 Bloodbloom, 1 Darkest Hour, Mal'Gantis, 2 nerubian unraveler, Ysharaj (not even gonna try to spell that, and replaceable?)
Pros: Looks pretty fun when it works, faster than Renolock, and a better priest matchup
Cons: probably not the best competitive deck, could get boring after a while?
3) As writing cubelock I crossed it out because of how EXPENSIVE it is
4) Mecha'Thun Warlock: Missing: Mecha'Thun (lul), Bloodbloom, cataclysm, Hemet (is there a version that doesn't run him?), Solarium (probably replacible), Godfrey
Pros: Fun, good big priest matchup
Cons: expensive, especially if those two legendaries aren't replacible
Cons: Doesn't look super top tier, huge reliance on the snip snap draw
So my question to you is: which deck should I craft (if any), and do you have any other fun decks that I am missing/should try?
Sorry this is a few years long, and thanks for any answers in advance.
1) You should have Kazakus to play Renolock. Everything else is replacible, feel free to ask for anything. Being an highlander deck, you can play it in so much different ways that you really shouldn't stick on the always similar high cost version that tier list sites spam...
2) This can be nerfed in future, and it's really expensive. And you'll lose to aggro if you don't draw well. Do this only if you really like it. In this case again, the legendaries are so much and powerfull etcetera... BUT this is wild, so you can use other high cost minion in place. The nerubians are good to negate board clear, and you should play them... However, I play the deck with only one copy of Nerubian, and if you drop the combo soon enough, it won't matter at all.
3) For cubelock, the important parts are the cubes, the voidlords, the Death Knight and possibly N'Zoth, but not that much Mal'ganis or the weapon or any other legendaries. You can play a budget version of cubelocs if you own the cubes and the voidlords and the DK.
4) For Mecha'thunlock, obviously you need mecha'thun. If you own Drakkari Enchanter you can drop it with Thaurissan and use it instead of the bloodbloom you miss. For the non Hemet version, I wrote this
5) Thalnos can be replaced by any drawing card, and (almost) the same is valid for the solarium. Put 2 Azure Drakes and call it a day, IMHO.
6) If you own Genn and enough Giants, Evenlock is a good deck to play too. Again, there are different version, included some that don't use that much high cost legendaries.
For what to use, I'd suggest you to craft Kazakus and try a version of Renolock you like, because except for Kazakus you can replace anything. If you need help, feel free to ask :P If you don't want to craft Kazakus, try to build a budget version of that 6 first, then you'll see what to craft.
Hi bsenk, thanks for the deck! I tried it but I my main issue was that my hand was full and I was not able to consume cards and draw more. Moreover it was hard vs aggro decks.
I did the following changes and I went from 18 to 14 with a lots of fun :D
I feel like Whitemane is a bit useless here. She only revives stuff that died on the turn you play her, so to get value you'd have to trade stuff. However if you play Krul and all your demons did survive a turn...why not just smorc? With Malganis and siegebreaker, plus other big stuff, you'd have lethal easily. Sure, you can use her on other turns just to revive 1 or 2 minions you played before, but if you only included her for resurrecting after krul, she is a bit pointless.
Just listen to rafaam if you can't win- cheat, no really cheat mana a lot of mana if your deck isn't cheating mana you can't win.
Small minions are bad late game you need big minions you can play early in the late game that's your main win condition in most decks tried countless times make burn decks like bomb warrior or zoolock work.. They just don't work you run out of value/lose tempo way too fast.
While it is generally true that picking big stuff + mana discounts is the most powerful option, especially for chapter V, it depends a lot on your class, your first treasure and whether or not you're playing with anomalies.
For example, the anomaly that buffs all friendly minions at the end of each player's turn pretty much requires a swarm deck that curves out, but if you do draft a low-curve deck with lots of tokens you can ride the anomaly to victory without much value in the deck.
I would go with Even Warlock or I would craft some cards you're missing and try out some of the others in your list. The decks you're having a look at are all pretty good. I would love to play in Wild format but I just can't afford it, so I feel your pain. I've just stuck with Standard. I guess the best thing about crafting cards for wild is that they won't get obsolete and you can count on maybe using them in the future.
Crafting Soularium is definitely worth it, I think, because it gets used in different warlock decks in Standard and Wild and so is crafting Thalnos because he's a classic legendary and can be used in lots of different decks. Crafting a legendary classic card for me is never a question if I am crafting it to use a deck I want to use.

So true. If I could pick one thing to nerf within the Heist, it would be how much mana the later bosses start with. Even if you have a super strong deck with a good curve and you draw the nuts, they can still stomp you simply by playing a 4-drop on turn 1 you can't easily deal with.
Unrelated: the passive treasure Recycling stacks. I'm playing heroic Chapter 5 right now with double Recycling swarm druid and the anomaly where every minion summons a 1/1 version of itself as a deathrattle. Beat Nozari when his deck ran out and I had full health and 130 armor, as well as Celestial Tiger and Malorne double shuffling themselves into the deck for eternity. After who knows how many tries, I might finally beat heroic Chapter 5. Wish me luck friends!
Which was the hardest Deck ever to be played in Standard ?

Other somewhat cheap Wild decks are: Freeze / Exodia Mage, some versions of Odd decks, Mech Hunter, Combo Priest and Pirate Warrior.
Here's Pirate Warrior (the deck is powerful, but not always consistent; extremely strong at lower ranks) :

That Ooze deck is very fun when it works, but I always found it clunky and hard to play.
