A friend of mine is playing Quest Soul Fragment Warlock with Rafaam as a late game thread. Looks pretty strong, the Fragment cards make for a good early game.
Would you mind sharing the list? I haven't looked into wild yet but I'm running low on dust and will have to make difficult decisions soon. This sounds like something I might have all the cards for.
I just played almost 5 hours straight after Scholomance Academy's release and I'd like to discuss our first impressions here. I'm aware of the fact that nothing is solved yet and it's probably way too early to judge the meta, but let's just put together our observations, shall we?
For me, Beast Spell Druid was the most successful deck I played. I don't remember losing a game with it. I'm not even sure if this can be kept in line by aggro anymore.
Soul Fragment Handlock was fun and looks promising, but needs some refinement. I don't own Kelidan, but I think he might be a good addition to this deck.
Aggro Alura Paladin is meh. Sometimes I managed to snowball hard, but most of the time I got out valued. Haven't played Pure Alura yet and the games against that deck felt fair.
Priest seems to be in a good place. I queued into lots of buff Priests and they are very hard to beat imho. Will probably try this out this weekend.
Zoolock was very underwhelming. This needs much refinement.
I tried a Deathrattle Hunter list for a few games, but it wasn't very exciting. Much depends on drawing Teron in time.
Big Warrior appears to be a thing. Very hard to beat if you cant apply lots of pressure early.
Demon Hunter looks cool. Not OP, just fun to play imho. I got Kreen as a golden legendary from the bundle and I'm really happy with that.
What surprised me most was mage. I got all the legendarys and finally crafted Solarian and Kalecgos but neither the Spell Damage nor the Highlander archetype worked for me. I played Flux's Pew Pew Pew Mage for almost and hour and won only two games (one was a disconnect and the second a frustrated but unnecessary concede after a misplay). Can someone please explain to me how Mozaki is supposed to work? Either I don't draw her or I'm not able to hold on to enough cheap spells to do something significant. I wanted to make this work so badly, but I'm at a loss right now. Maybe I tried too many of the new cards at once.
So what are your first impressions? I haven't seen much of Rogue, how are they doing? Have you made similar experiences like me? Where do you disagree? Any advice for mage?
No, I wouldn't run her. It's not worth the risk to have her in hand instead of Mal'Ganis, Voidlord or Enhanced Dreadlord when you desperately need an answer against aggro on turn 4/5/6 via Voidcaller or skull. Those two do the same job but earlier and without diluting the minions pool.
In other words: she offers good value but the backlash in consistency is too severe imho.
That's what I meant. I haven't gotten a legendary from the year of the dragon packs yet, so I should be guaranteed one, which could potentially be Kalecgos. I'm also pretty sure I'm getting close to the pitty timer for AoO packs, which could result in a free Solarian. While I did actually plan to craft both of them for a Spell Damage deck tomorrow, I'm now reluctant to spend so much dust with that bundle in mind.
I guess I'll take that one since I'm missing Kalecgos and Astromancer Solarian. Do you expect the bundle to go live immediately when the expansion hits? That would be very convenient regarding dust economy.
Okay, I have left my personal thoughts on all of your cards in my other post.
Please, if anything sounds weird or rude - it is not meant to sound that way - I am not good at writting even in my language (which is not English, of course).
The expansion looks great so far and I would like to see more of what ideas you have in store.

I just finished opening my 85 Scholomance packs from preorder. Here are the results:
I figured it wouldn't make a difference if I opened the 5 golden packs first or last and just started out with them. BOOM! First pack, first card, golden Mozaki, Master Duelist! No luck with the other packs though, no golden epics.
The sheer number of epics and legendarys is good, but I didn't get much of what I was planing to play with. Fingers crossed for the second opening when the expansion hits!
How was your pack opening? Are you happy with your results?

I really liked the Spell Beast Druid in the final reveal stream. Even finished the Trial by Felfire Challenges to get that shiny golden Kel'thas yesterday. Second on the list is a tempo mage, but I'm not sure if that will be a thing. When I get bored of loosing I'll switch to Demon Hunter or maybe try and put together a Hunter list.

I'll only have a few hours of time when the expansion hits next week, so I decided to use this feature this time. It's pretty easy, just go here and follow the instructions. Fingers crossed for a good haul, I'll make sure to report back what I got. I'm hoping for Ace Hunter Kreen, Professor Slate, Ras Frostwhisper and Mozaki, Master Duelist. Really lots of strong epics this expansion, that might end up being quite expensive.

Out of the 80 normal packs I got 15 epics plus one golden epic. Sadly, they were not the ones I was hoping for (not a single copy of Survival of the Fittest, Krolusk Barkstripper, Potion of Illusion and Combustion). The legendarys I got are

High Abbess Alura in pack #43
Vectus in pack #44
Archwitch Willow in pack #80
