    I feel personally attacked friend, considering you downvoted all of my decks. Even accused me before of falsely advertising my decks, when I didn't list any winrates or even say the deck was powerful.

    You know what other type of people were annoying on Hearthpwn? Hypocrites.

    I didn't downvote your stuff

    Why would you lie?

    I'm looking at a terminal output right now with all your voting data. You've downvoted 14 things on the site, 9 being decks Colin wrote guides on.

    That is shit we don't want to continue here and you bet is going to be actively policed. Vote harassment is beyond stupid and is the real plague of community sites.

    And just so we're clear, you're not the only one who has done this. I've removed close to 600 negative votes over the past couple of days with one of the biggest offenders hitting 142 decks.

    This site asks users to pay money or donate or whatever. In exchange, it should try to to eliminate the type of unreliable claims its deck sharers put in their posts. This isn't Hearthpwn. Make it not Hearthpwn. Make it worthy of donations by assuring the end user a certain level of credibility.

    Here's the deal.

    We're a community deck sharing website at the core. If you don't like that, I encourage you to use a site like HSReplay that uses pooled stats or to check out news articles that come out from us which highlight decks that are either fun or have proven records. You aren't the person the deck database is for and won't be unless we're able to collect enough of our own statistically significant data to have sortable winrates.

    I don't want to enforce any sort of rules yet on what people can and cannot share at this time. People should be intelligent enough to figure out that decks can't actually have a 100% winrate, just like they should also know that a "Legend" deck doesn't actually mean anything at the end of the day since you can't actually drop out of Legend. Plus, getting super strict about stuff just makes us the bad guy. I'd rather have a bunch of chill people on the site than elitist pricks - the entire Hearthstone game is fueled on a casual audience =).

    Also, we're already not HearthPwn.

    • We're not a sinking ship;
    • We're not run by people that ignore ad problems (no ads atm btw);
    • We're not run by tyrannical morons who will do anything to push ads ads ads;
    • We have one of the strongest staff teams that I'm crazy proud to be a part of (competency is amazing);
    • We actually have plans in place to build tools the community has desired for a long time.
    • We've got the support of the community because people actually know who we are.

    Sure, we may lack a few features people would like, but those only take some time to build and yet we're on a path they are without a doubt jealous of.

    Also, yeah, people should consider a monthly contribution on Patreon. Every dollar helps pay the server bills without resorting to ads and we're constantly making the site a better place to hang out on.

  • Everything that happens in China is separate from the west, being run by a contracted provider. I doubt Blizzard has any oversight in what they are doing with the game, considering everything different about Hearthstone over there for the past few years has not shown up here.

    I'm pretty sure we're about to hit year 4 of Hearthstone in China having replays as a first-party feature.

  • I did some more digging and you're right. I'm glad this was pointed out so we didn't report on it again as this isn't the first time I have. Thank you!

  • Uhh, how were we wrong?

    We still haven't seen special brawls, and Blizzard even stated we were going to have some special Uldum brawls. That's what those quests are for, not some random duplicate brawl that we've seen for a couple of weeks.

    Blizzard doesn't just add random quests to the game.

    Edit: I should add nowhere did I say it was a launch day thing or even launch week. I'm smart enough to not do that with datamined information.

  • Yeah, I would not expect anything from a separate client over here. It would have to be baked into the game, available on all platforms, and require resources to actually implement it. RIP

  • You should check out the deck guides for decks you are interested in. All the decks should have ways you can improve it to make them more powerful =)

  • I've since clarified what the final design team is responsible for. Just wanted to make a note of that so it doesn't look like Demon didn't read the article. Rushing to get the news out ftw.

  • Cannot recommend Zilliax enough. The amount of play the card has gotten over the past year has proven it a worthy craft.

    Mech Paladin tons of fun though, its so great to see a starter version that can evolve.

  • Revolutionary! Never would have thought to put these cards together.

  • I actually really want to get optional sounds on pack openings, and I'd like them to be a bit more animated too. It was indeed not done to start with because I wanted to get the feature out. See that we still don't have achievements for the pack opener.

    The scrolling thing is also not going to be required if you're opening additional packs, we had talked about that right after the feature went live.

    Not sure if we'll reveal the entire logic behind packs though, if we do that may come at a later date when its more finalized. I think we could use some tweaks still =)

    Overall though, great feedback, thank you clawz!

  • Such an awesome deck!

  • It is because of the no dupes legendary rule for pack opening.

    If there is a particular legendary you want to craft golden, you want to do so before opening card packs because there is a chance you will open it with the "normal" version. By crafting it first, it won't be possible to open a normal version of the card until you've got every legendary from the set in your collection.

    It would be so sad to want to craft a golden Zephrys to get it in one of your packs as a normal. If you were to craft it golden, the only use for the non-gold is to turn it into 400 dust, which sucks considering the alternative was to open a different legendary.

  • Mythic+ is plenty of fun, join us! :D

    Agreed though, fantastic article from Goliath!

  • Yeah, it would have been helpful to actually indicate it was a random drawing. My assumption was that of everyone assuming it was random unless otherwise noted was a bad one to make. Going forward, I'll make sure all giveaways state the way the draw will occur. If that doesn't happen, hold me accountable!

    Appreciate the response, jagu!

  • No, but you can ticket Blizzard support and ask them to refund your purchase because you won a community giveaway and the code cannot be redeemed because you had already pre-ordered. They should understand the situation and go through with it.

  • Reposting my comment on the giveaway post here so it gets viewed.

    It is my understanding some people are giving me a hard time about the giveaway, some claiming its just rigged and staff are going to win it. I'm disappointed that people feel that way and think so little of me.

    There is zero incentive to rig giveaways. There is never anything to gain when you are ultimately risking your reputation and potentially putting yourself in legal hell by doing so. Imagine caring so little about your community you'd give it all up for a couple of hundred dollars; I cannot stand people who don't follow through with giveaways or "give them" to friend. Social media has been such a plague for that stuff, it is worse than the "Free iPods" of the mid 00's. I don't care who wins, as long as you follow the rules, you can win. Yes, there have been staff members who have won giveaways in the past, I don't forbid any of them from entering as they are not paid employees or contractors of the site.

    Anyway, I do apologize it took a bit too long to announce winners for this giveaway. The winners should have been drawn the morning after the giveaway ended, plain and simple. There was a miscommunication though, which is also my fault so don't shoot Frosty, he had stated I hadn't drawn the winners yet yesterday though they did end up getting drawn last night. I just went to take a nap (card reveals recovery is so fun) afterwards so I could then work on our announcement post with a clean slate and unfortunately slept for just over 12 hours.

    We're not going to be doing a community compendium for the expansion based on voting data on cards. We don't have enough vote data to make it interesting enough. This will be fixed going forward by making the voting available in other areas of the site to help encourage everyone to click those stars!

  • If you check out the data, there are too many cards at 0 or 1 votes to truly do a "Magma Rager Award".

  • Hey CovenantKevlar,

    This past reveal period has been eye opening into what kind of resources are required to run the site at a high load due the constant surges of people visiting. In preparations for the expansion next week, we'll be adding some additional caching for logged out users and I'm going to be bumping up the number of instances powering the site. There will be a very small, less than a minute, service interruption late on the weekend to enable this new configuration.

    I'm confident we'll be fast, and without a doubt faster than HearthPwn ever was with launch days. It was always frustrating when people at HearthPwn knew the expansion was launching and didn't scale up the site correctly in preparation for the day. I remember when we went offline for a few minutes as an expansion was launching, the key moment of launch day. I don't plan on bringing that curse with us here =)
