Yeaaaah, the only real way to get into wild now is by crafting decks. I really wish Blizzard would make old expansions cheaper (like maybe a year after they rotate out) and because they cost less to buy, also decrease the dust value of cards. It would make it way more accessible.
It would also just be helpful to have wild packs earned in-game by playing the format or you know, in the shop for gold too. Would be cool if you could get a random wild pack every 5-10 wins, though I'm not going to hold my breath :P
Commander is a Magic Format where you create a 100 card deck. The deck contains:
Your commander x1 (A Legendary Creature)
A maximum of 1 copy of each card by name (Basic Lands excluded)
All cards in your deck must follow the color identity of your commander.
If you have a plains/white commander, all cards must also be plains.
If your commander is plains/white and island/blue, you may include cards that are just basic blue, basic white, or a combination.
Additionally, instead of the normal 20 life you have in magic, commander decks start with 40. You also can play between up to 6 players in the same game in a free-for-all style match. It's pretty cool. I've never personally been able to play the commander format but I've had dreams of it. There's some really cool cards that will hurt every opponent which just feels so OP. That value.
Also, to chime in, we'd really like to do some great database driven stuff for the adventures so the community could help us keep the resources up to date with deck guides and such. Chimera is right though, it's going to be a huge undertaking to backfill the old Hearthstone content. Long term goals though!
As a workaround, you could go into the <> Source Code view of the guide and manually apply the style='" line to the OL element.
I don't know what sort of hack would be needed to get this to work correctly and truth be told, I think a lot of the current fonts the editor has shouldn't be used for writing guides. Open Sans, the default font (with Arial fallback if the font doesn't load) is so pleasing to the eye and very common across the web that its a bit of a shock when it gets changed up on the site. Increasing readability of guides means keeping the main font the same and then in certain places using something different for emphasis.
Headings are a cool spot to use a different font.
Also, I'm 100% removing wingdings at some point. Such a useless font these days.
Funny side-note. I've gone to the site a few times to compare forum activity and Out of Cards on multiple occasions has had more recent discussion. You'll see the most recent 4 threads on Pwn be made within the past 3 hours where Out of Cards had 5 posts within an hour.
Deck discussion is definitely a bit more active there than here, but we're just getting things started so I think its okay.
Ultimately, good luck to them. They inherited a ton of tech debt on both backend and frontend and it is not going to be an easy pay off. People also won't get away from the ads infestation that is HearthPwn. Had I have obtained the site, the goal was to completely rewrite it from the ground up anyway since the platform it is on sucks. It basically would have become what Out of Cards is right now, just it would have been a different color scheme and things would be kept very similar with regards to UI.
We've got big plans, stay tuned.
Also I moved your thread to the off-topic general chat forum. It was not Hearthstone game related.
I haven’t played a proper Pokémon game since Platinum and I am super excited for Sword and Shield. I’ll probably go with the Sword Doggo and I’m hoping to get my brother-in-law to give Shield a try, since he likes Pokémon but hasn’t played the games.
I also loved the Banjo and Kazooie reveal for Smash, though I don’t have the game
Pokemon games in recent times have been the bane of my existence. Sun and Moon sits unfinished (as does Ultra S&M) because I'll stop playing it for a week and then not feel like picking it back up. This actually happens with more games than just Pokemon but damn is it frustrating beyond belief.
Even Lets Go Pikachu was never finished, though I could see myself jumping back into that sometime since its a familiar world (Kanto) and I won't feel like I'm lost.
I hope Sword and Shield will break that mold for me. I love the GO series "see what you can catch" mechanic so it should be interesting going into a new, much more open, world and catching me some new mons.
I think I'm going to main Sword, I've had both reserved and paid for though since the announcement.
After we got the buff patch from Hearthstone, it popped into my mind maybe the Nerf a Card forum could be more. The idea behind it was that we wanted people to go the Blizzard route with card changes and since all they did was nerfs until the latest patch, that made the most sense.
The reason it isn't called game formats is because then that begs the question "why is Arena, Tavern Brawl, and Adventure not here? those are formats too"
There will be some filtering added in the future to the personal decks listing. It'll likely come once filters on deck listings themselves get an overhaul.

Since we're all from a Hearthstone background, it makes sense that there is very limited Magic discussion right now. I'm certain once we start expanding more into the game, we'll attract more visitors and maybe even pull people out of hiding. As it is right now, many people may not even know we have plans to cover magic and likely don't know about the one forum we have for it. It's also important once we start magic coverage we give people a way that don't want to see anything magic the ability to not see it.
Once we're comfortable with our Hearthstone features and coverage, full dev time goes into Magic to give it the same treatment we've given Hearthstone. It is gonna be one crazy journey.
I agree. We should have gotten some feedback on that before making it the default.
I've changed it so those on mobile will see news first. I'd like to make an option down the line so those that are logged in could choose what they want to see. Full site patch notes will be added later tonight.
It's all a work in progress! We're going to hit that hard but right now there's a bit more focus on creating tools and features for the community that is here already.
People are stupid and don't realize it was going on for a long time at this point. Not my fault no one in the company cared enough about HearthPwn to check in on it once a month. If they had such a problem with it, they should have said something directly to me.
But yeah, site was shutting down, they have no right to be angry.

If it ever gets slower, be sure to yell at me =)
Ideally it would be even faster, and there is still room for some optimization.

Damn that's impressive and it makes me jelly. Congratulations, Pezman!

You'll have to upload them to an external service first, we don't yet support users uploading images directly to the site.
I recommend Imgur, it's what most people use.
I don't have an ETA for when we'll get image uploads here, but it is planned.

This is exactly why I held off on buying it. I'm super bumped to play some Spyro again

Can confirm its an issue for everyone on mobile and one that I'd like to get fixed real soon. Sorry for the trouble!
Yeah I don't like how Wild was handled on HearthPwn. I definitely want to see change!
