  • I agree with you.

We'll be good early on since things are just getting started, but it'll be interesting to see how things progress and how fast. HearthPwn definitely got pretty bad with some discussions and I don't want to see it replicated here. We'll likely be harsher in some areas and lighter in others when it comes to punishments.

Would it be possible to include a link back to the post that's being replied to at the top of a reply by default? Right now it feels like you have to quote-reply to make it clear who you're responding to because of the chronological sequencing of comments (which I prefer to the reddit system of nested comments BTW).

This is planned! I want posts that are a response to include a "In Response To User #000" with an easy link to go back and read.

  • It is no secret I'm a Nintendo fanboy. Whether you love me or hate me for it, I accept your decisions. I wanted to catalog all the awesome stuff Nintendo talked about today and with that, give people easy access to pre-order new titles which in turn helps support the site. I also hope that we can talk about all the announcements too.

There's a ton of stuff that came out in the direct, I'm primarily just looking at the first-party Nintendo stuff. There are a few other fan-favourites included (sorry if your favourite game didn't make the list.

Here's the full direct if you missed it

This thread has affiliate links to purchasing some of these games on Amazon.com. Pre-ordering and eventually buying a game through these links helps support Out of Cards in our goal to be independent.

In reply to A Letter From Flux
  • It is my mission to make this site exactly what I wanted HearthPwn to be, so I hope we're better!

Glad to have you and everyone else on board.

In reply to A Letter From Flux
  • I wouldn't mind adding a little indentation arrow icon in the margin before a post to serve as a better indicator. Good feedback!

  • I like golden animation.

In reply to A Letter From Flux
  • The hero we need on Out of Cards. Welcome, friend.

In reply to A Letter From Flux
  • That's what I love to hear, visit and spread the word!

In reply to A Letter From Flux
  • I've almost got a post finished for our front page, it should be up soon. I think it addresses everything.

We are not going anywhere. Out of Cards is here to stay.

  • We have plans for a dedicated non-thread tier list =D

I really want to be able to show people how cards move over time from different rankings, and of course, talking about them is important too. Stats get a bit harder since we aren't collecting anything, but it's possible we can work with another community to achieve this, at least early on.

  • Decks are not private though we may add the functionality in the future.

Some decks not displaying on Google is simply Google not yet indexing the content. Since the site is just growing, we have to show Google we're awesome enough to get indexed. I do submit a dump of deck urls to them on a daily basis which helps with the process.

  • The idea is people can filter by many expansions at once if they want to. Much like how you can do the same with classes. A good example is to easily link to a listing of all Standard cards.

It isn't fully prettied up yet though, that is to come.

In reply to Card search feedback
  • Hey, we now have a dedicated forum for Streams & Videos.

Please check out the rules =)
    https://outof.cards/forums/hearthstone/streams-videos/542-hearthstone-streams-videos-forum-rules

And check out the forum itself where you can make a thread
    https://outof.cards/forums/hearthstone/streams-videos

  • Welcome to the Hearthstone Streams & Videos Forum! We have some special rules for this forum so pay close attention!

    Forum Rules

    • Streamers and YouTube Content Creators may create one (1) thread for all your streams and videos.
    • You may only bump your thread when you have new content to add OR when you are responding to questions.
    • You may not have URLs in your thread title.
    • No giveaways.

    Pro Tips

    • Tell us about yourself and what you do with your channel.
    • Add images to your thread to spice things up.
    • Give us a list of the times you stream or your video upload schedule.
    • Add a link to your thread here to your site signature so people can find it easier.
    • Don't forget to also include your most recent video in your original post inside the thread. It's easy for people to stay up to date on your latest work.
  • Agreed, this would be an awesome feature to have.

  • A new much-requested feature, quality of life updates to existing stuff, and a bunch of bug fixes.

    New Features

    • Site Search has arrived!
      • This is our first version of site search.
      • You can search for cards, decks, articles, and forum threads.
      • There is a new search box at the top of the site. It will default to searching for cards.
      • We will have card tooltips on the top of site search box in a future update.

    Changes

    • All deck copy buttons have been renamed so it is more obvious what they do.
      • There was a possible issue where people didn't understand what to click or tap on to copy deck codes. I think this should fix it.
    • We've added icons to the account links at the top of the site. They also have some more spacing.
    • Cards in a deck list on the deckbuilder now have card tooltips on mouseover.

    Bug Fixes

    • Fixed a spelling error on deck detail pages.
    • Deck detail pages should now correctly apply neutral cards to the mana curve.
    • Clicking on a golden card that has been embedded on the forums or a guide will now take you to the card page.
    • The navigation now scrolls on mobile.
    • Account links on mobile should no longer get hidden beneath the navigation.
    • Edge users can now use the navigation dropdowns. Edge, why are you such a silly browser?
    • Deck embeds now look better on mobile. Go away squishy!
    • Fixed a bug where some decks would return errors if their name didn't have any alphabetical characters. :(
  • Should still work on an emulator!

  • Hope everyone had a great weekend! A lot of the weekend was spent on the backend so there isn't much to present. Card Pack opener should arrive at some point this week since there wasn't enough time to get it out this weekend.

    New Features

    • Animated Card Images!
      • Visit any card page to see a golden animation of the image.
        • This took a TON of work last week and took a few days to render every card in the game.
        • We decided to use the exact same templating we had back on HearthPwn for those that have templates that use card images so no extra work is needed on your end.
      • The cardimg bbcode also supports animated images.  will give you a nice golden version of the card.
    • Animated Card Backs!
      • Visit card back pages to see their animations too!
      • No bbcode is available right now for card backs.
    • Strikethrough text in the editor is now available.
    • Mana Curves are now available on deck pages. They are found above a deck's card list. I know no one wanted these =)

    Changes

    • We now link to patch notes on card pages where we list a change for a card.

    Bug Fixes

    • Fixed an issue that caused dust calculations to not give the desired results. Second copies of cards weren't added to the math. Oops.
    • All decks that were flagged as Standard when they were really Wild have been batch fixed.
