It's so weird to me that so many people see Hearthstone purchases as an all-or-nothing scenario. And certainly no confession is required if you choose not to spend your money on a video game. Most people in the world do not feel the need to make public announcements for every purchase they don't make.
For Mercenaries, it's OK to buy just one bundle instead of all three, or only 10 packs for the guaranteed legendary, or even nothing at all if you aren't interested in the game.
Right? I would have included Ragnaros instead of Sylvanas. I might have went for the trifecta, then, as Sylvanas' abilities are not compelling to me.
Actually, Ragnaros is Protector, not a caster or fighter.
Fair enough, but I didn't know that at the time :P Ragnaros was a Caster in the streamer reveal, as was Alexstrasza
Looking at the abilities of those two, I'm convinced there's something not quite right with the data that was mined. Same with Guff.
I guess it's possible that they wanted to open up fire synergies to other roles so you could have a more balanced fire team, but if that's the case, I'd expect them also to rework their abilities to be more in line with what a protector is supposed to do.
To upgrade an ability to rank 2 is 50 coins. Rank 3 is 100 coins. Rank 4 is 120 coins. Rank 5 is 120 coins.
The total cost per ability is 390 coins. For all three abilities, that comes to 1170 coins.
To upgrade equipment to rank 2 is 150 coins. Rank 3 is 180 coins. Rank 4 is 200 coins.
The total cost per equipment is 530 coins. It seems that most mercenaries get one piece of equipment that is Rank 4 immediately, so you only need to upgrade two, for a total cost of 1060 coins.
So it's 2230 coins for all abilities and equipment.
We don't know what it costs to craft a merc or a portrait, but once you do own a merc, you should easily be able to upgrade all of its abilities and equipment by the time you get it to level 30. Mercenary coins from a Bounty are NOT totally random. I believe it's something like 4 of the 5 coin stacks will always match members of your party.
I always consider most achievements to be meaningless fluff intended to make players feel good for no reason, but literally every one of these is equivalent to "Just keep playing the game, and we'll hand you achievements for doing all the stuff you were going to do anyway."
The only one that requires any amount of effort is the Heroic bounty one, and not a single one of them shows any imagination.
This isn't a real complaint because I don't actually care. I just can't help wondering why developers even bother to create such bland achievements. Is it one of those jobs they hand over to interns because it doesn't matter to anyone? This list definitely looks like the work of a bored and/or apathetic intern.
I'm confused about what information you think is missing.
There's a gameplay video of a full Bounty run. You can find full XP tables on this very site, as well as lists of all stats-per-level, powers, equipment, and upgrade costs for every single merc. We know exactly how PvE works, and a pretty good idea of the PvP system.
I'm not saying you should buy it before you try it, but if you think information is missing, it makes me think you are simply not trying to find it.
Do we know whether Fel Damage applies only to the merc, or to the whole party? If it's the party, you might easily skip the gauntlets in favor of Fel Core in the right comp.
(Also, I can imagine situations where you might prefer to target a fighter even though a caster has less health.)

It's surely not limited to the cameos in the trailer. I'm sure any character in the WoW/Hearthstone universe is fair game for expansions.
The more, the merrier!
I wasn't doubting your mining skillz, to be sure! "Unreleased oddities" is exactly the way to put it.

Garrosh Hellscream's Battle Shout for sure -- it's a fast, huge attack buff.
If you want a balanced team, Gul'dan would be your caster pick. You'll need his Siphon Life for heals.
Imagine a company creating products and offering them for sale. What a world we live in!
You can use your Arena-won gold on Mercenaries packs.

Maybe all Blink Foxes are one Blink Fox, and its name is ... Blink Fox.
As I read through the entire list of mercs, it definitely started to seem like "you" must mean the player and must therefore apply to all your mercs.
This also makes me think that [Spell School] damage could be universal as well. (Was that already obvious?)
The more I think about it, the less I like these tribal synergies, especially when the overall merc pool is so tiny.
It's too much like the packages they put into Hearthstone to take all the guesswork out of deckbuilding.

Yeah, there has to be a Kazakus, brewing potions and/or summoning golems. It won't feel like a Hearthstone game without him.
If Heroic Leap weren't restricted, this would be a good merc.
Instead, all three abilities suck, and this is probably my least favorite merc by far.
Mark my words: Warchief's Command will turn out to be one of the strongest abilities in the game.
Rags is the reason you build a fire comp. I can't wait. I will actually die if I have trouble finding a Ragnaros.
I mean, Mannoroth is epic and Jaraxxus is legendary, so why would you expect them to be equally good?
If you don't have Jaraxxus, you are definitely taking Mannoroth as your Demon party's protector.
Cenarion Surge should read: Your characters' (s-apostrophe) if they mean characters plural, which I'm sure they do.
It's really sad that no one thinks punctuation matters anymore.
