This make me question their showcased selection to promote the set ... This isn't exactly glamorous - it just shows how far HS has come for base statline since vanilla tho
They always have something kind of basic in the first reveal. Cult Neophyte was one of the first Scholomance cards they showed off. Also, Ticking Abomination was the only KFT card we knew for a few days.
I honestly don't remember this card being played all that much. How'd it make the cute?
For real? It was a staple card in Face Hunter back in Blackrock Mountain.
Also, it's not about how good the card is, it's about what role it fills. This is a midrange board control or face pressure card to fill the gap Corrosive Breath and Kill Command are leaving.
I finally beat it by getting lucky with a poisonous Knife Juggler and Sabotages. Trying to brute force through them did not work. Still ended with 2 HP.
Seriously. Why the fuck do the Shadows have like 15 health?! Why do you have Frenzied Felwings against a boss you can't damage? What the fuck were they doing?
Regenerate didn't see a lot of play. There was some Nomi shenanigans decks that used it, but it wasn't a staple and that deck didn't live past Rise of Shadows.
This is better than Regenerate against an aggro deck though, so maybe there's some hope.
No cards are being removed. The Core set is kind of like the Wild Event set we had back in October of 2019. It's extra copies of the cards. So, you can have Core or the original cards in your deck.
I hope they still give this card the same "wow" factor. I remember the first time I saw someone play Jaraxxus. Watching him hit the board, then rise up and literally crush my opponent while announcing he was my enemy now... that was a big moment.
They need to give him a new animation on par with that. They really have to capture the idea of summoning a powerful demon that literally kills who you're supposed to be playing against and hijacks the fight.
"The term Reckoning Bomb refers to an attack that consumes multiple Reckoning "charges" at once, dealing a burst of damage via consecutive attacks. This is done by turning off auto-attack and allowing yourself to be critically hit until multiple stacks are accumulated, then turning it back on to use them all.
Reckoning could originally store an infinite number of charges, which meant Reckoning Bombs had the potential to deal massive amounts of damage. In May 2005, one paladin soloed Lord Kazzak in the Blasted Lands by unleashing a 1,816-charge Reckoning on him, killing him in a matter of seconds."
Seems like an aggro card. Could be good in decks that cycle through the deck quickly, otherwise the game might be over before you even find Mankrik's Wife.
Too slow for aggro. I don't think even Zoolock would want to slow down and play a 3/4 just to maybe get a payoff. Maybe it sees play in Midrange, but without Highlander support that seems iffy.
Obviously, this is much more of a meme-y strategy, but even for a meme deck this will just be too slow and inconsistent to be played. There are simply too many hoops to jump through.
On the other hand, Dire Mole with a strict upside. I can't imagine Midrange Hunter not using this card.
You could see Tidal Surge in the player's hand while they were showcasing Strength Totem. It also has Lifesteal now. I think it's safe to assume that's another Core card now.

It's from Rastakhan's Rumble.
I know, hard believe there actually were good cards in that set.

You turn into a Demon halfway through the fight, which refreshes you to 30 HP and gives you a way better deck and hero power. I beat on my first try.
The last encounter is fucking dogshit, though. Your deck is filled with cards that do literally nothing.
Not true - she was worth 5 dust.

The wording confirms that Forged in the Barrens is launching this month. I suppose we already figured that, but it's nice to know it for sure.

No Savage Roar, though. I don't know if Token Druid is going to be consistent enough when they're down a finisher.

That artwork is brilliant.

Poisons deal Nature damage in World of Warcraft.

Spells will have tribes now, like minions do. Nature is one of those tribes.
Call it a hunch, but I bet the usefulness of this card relies on the Fel tag. It's so far below the power level otherwise.
It's too early to actually call this card, since we have no idea what the Spell Schools mean yet.

Yep. Think of the Core set as the Basic/Classic set and the Legacy set as the Hall of Fame.
