According to the schedule revealed yesterday, there will not be any more card reveals until AFTER this event ends (March 18), so we won't be able to use all the Tuskaroons we were going to earn by voting and commenting on cards. Am I understanding that right?
One of my earliest homebrew decks (2015 or so) was stealth Shaman: I ran every stealth minion I could, then used some combination of Rockbiter Weapon, Windfury and Bloodlust for surprise burst. My favorite card was Shade of Naxxramas, which I would try to play early, and just leave it hidden until it could survive AOE and targeted removal.
Just want to share this story: way back in the early days (like, the 90's, when there were only physical cards), my brothers and I got started with Magic the Gathering. One of my brothers used to only build red decks and start every match if possible by lightning bolting the opponent's face. We all thought it was such a great opening move, dealing 3 damage before the game was even underway! Of course, I also remember building mostly green decks myself and always running Force of Nature (so cool, an 8/8 with Trample!). We had a lot to learn back then ...
God that final fight was frustrating. What the hell is Frenzied Felwing doing in the deck? The opponent has no health, and even though you can attack him (good only for buffing Self-Sharpening Sword), you cannot discount the Felwing. Dead card.
I'm just not seeing the strong plays available with this. If you could bank the cost reduction for next turn (like with Nature Studies), it would be amazing. If it had rush or taunt (like people mentioned above), it would be a solid tempo play. But it's just a cheap 3/5.
This seems very good to me. Think about sticking that DR on an Imprisoned Phoenix: spell damage +4 that you can safely bank into a dormant minion for a massive burst later on.
Do you think when they printed this card (not that long ago, right?), they were hinting at the upcoming expansion? We know that they plan things long in advance, before we ever hear about them.
I agree with DarkFrostX: a cost specification would make this playable, like 3 mana or more. We need the dream of getting King Krush off this, but it shouldn't happen too often.
Honestly, I don't know how people keep up with multiple games! Between work and family, I only have so much time every day for gaming, so I bank it all into Hearthstone (which I love). I manage to keep up with the game in terms of both earning in-game rewards and spending real money because I don't invest time and money into other games.
Wow, thanks for the quick reply. I guess what I'm wondering now is, am I getting fewer Tuskaroons because I'm getting Securi? Or would I be earning both at the same rate either way? At the time I posted, I had ONLY gotten Securi so far today, but I have since gotten some Tuskaroons too.
Today I'm earning Suriman Securi instead of Quillboar Tuskaroons. I do not play Runeterra and have no use for this currency. I do, however, play Hearthstone (only) and am feeling sad about not getting currency I can use. Is there a way I can convert currency, or somehow tell the site to only give me Tuskaroons?
I realize this is super whiny, boo-hoo I want free internet stuff, etc. However, there are pack bundles worth $50 on the line, and that ain't nothing.
I'm surprised that this card didn't get buffed. It hasn't seen any competitive play in a long time, and I doubt it will now. I would love to be wrong though.
This card has proven its worth already in a few different ways, early on to cheat out Antaen and Priestess of Fury, more recently to enable OTK with Il'Gynoth. I think it will be a solid choice for a variety of decks.
So interesting that they remove almost (all?) of the charge minions from standard, then add this. It's attack is too small to be a huge threat, but it could present significant damage over several turns.
Well, we already know this card is insanely good. A solid removal/healing tool, worth it even without the Outcast cost reduction. Plus, a staple in Il'gynoth OTK decks.

They could have reduced the attack all they want, just give the guy more health! Wouldn't you play this if it was a 0/3?

No Lake Thresher? Pulling that out with Guardian Animals is an insane tempo play.
I also love combining Moonfang with Survival of the Fittest. You know, for when you want to completely shatter your opponent's hopes and dreams.

So weird to be reading about these "new" cards.
Well, it's a solid 1-drop. What else is there to say?

Thanks for the clarifications everyone!

I'll be curious to see if this card resurfaces. It was played a lot early on, but I haven't seen it in quite a while.

Super nasty, even more so when combined with Raging Felscreamer. Yikes!
