Congrats! I'm pushing again for my first time Legend this season. Fingers crossed.

I'm rooting for you! Where are you now, and what are you playing?

Congratulations! Which legendary did you get?

Thanks! I got Gruul. I have all classic legendaries, so he's a dupe.

  • Another tough session this evening. Up and down rank 2, ending at rank 3 with 2 stars. Losing to secret mage and warlock (Tickatus and Zoo), beating paladin and druid pretty consistently. 50/50 against warriors. Killed one priest and one rogue. Haven't seen the other 3 classes in awhile.

  • Update: win streak today brought me right up to Diamond 1 full stars! One win away from Legend, I faced a Weapon Rogue and drew both Tip the Scales after mulligan, and very little useful early game stuff. Needless to say, I lost. Next match was Demon Hunter, and once again, bad draws did me in. Taking a break for now, but I WILL get there!

  • "Courts have defined harassment as it is commonly understood: repeated words, conduct, or action that serve no legitimate purpose and are directed at a specific person to annoy, alarm, or distress that person." (criminaldefenselawyer.com)

This behavior can only be "repeated" if you let it. The moment someone you added starts flaming you, just unfriend them. Or, if you're really concerned about this type of thing, just don't accept friend requests.

I've had this happen several times (I'm sure we all have), and ultimately, it's just sad that people feel the need to do this to strangers, and over a game no less. But it's just words from some anonymous loser on the internet. Ignore it and move on.

Your shame list, while clearly well-intentioned, is not a good idea.

@Pezman, that list is pretty good. Maybe I'd cut Vulpera. You want only <1 cost spells.

That's certainly true, but when you draw Alura with no Wandmakers and no coin, you feel bad. Vulpera is a flexible card that has a high chance of offering a 1-mana spell, given how many are in Paladin's arsenal, or something else useful that we can't run because of Alura/Scales combo. Plus, I keep dreaming one day she'll give me First Day of School on turn 3 for a turn 4 Alura.

  • Dang this looks fun, and great title!

    No room for Zilliax?

  • Same here! I mean, some golden cards look really sweet, but I just don't care that much. I'd rather have the dust so I can craft other cards I want.

  • Here's my current Ramp Pally list, for anyone interested. It's a beast!

  • Last night, after tanking back to the rank floor once again, I switched back to Ramp Pally and went on a 6-game win streak. Several of you have noted the strengths of this deck over the control Warlock, and you were right. Plus the deck is really fun. I have to admit that a turn 4 Alura-coin-TiptheScales feels really unfair, but if it wins games, I'm doing it.

Most of my matches yesterday were against Weapon Rogue and Gibberling Druid, and Ramp Pally does much better against both. Does anyone else think that Nitroboost Poison is problematic? At 1 mana, it's way too easy to corrupt and yields too much value combined with Self-Sharpening Sword.

  • Are the blessings grouped by class? I played twice as Demon Hunter, and was offered the same 3 blessings both times (Pig, Rat, Rabbit). My opponent was a mage both times, and had chosen Dragon. Coincidence?

I am confused? Why did you swap ramp pally, which is the best deck in the format for something as mediocre like control warlock? I am not surprised you fell down the ladder again.

You should consult vicious syndicate for the best deck in your ranking segment.

Just play the most broken deck and try to optimize your decision making. This should take you to legend in no time.

Ramp Pally is super good and super fun. I may switch back to it. Like I said above, I switched to warlock because I wanted to have fun with Rustwix, and that got me from Diamond 10 to 4, so it's definitely competitive.

The one thing I absolutely don't want to do is try to get to Legend playing a deck I don't enjoy. I think Riffraff made a great point about that.

  • Welp, back to the rank floor ... Thanks for the support guys, I'll keep at it!

  • Oh I can't wait to play classic! Remember when you could just plant Antonidas on curve and reasonably expect him to survive?

  • Thanks for the tips! I agree that Plague of Flames should go, and for exactly the reason you said. It's a holdover from when I still had Armor Vendors. I actually like Siphon Soul, as it activates Cascading Disaster (and Tickatus, if discounted by Free Admission). I also really like Y'Shaarj, the Defiler, so maybe I'll do this:

    -1 Plague

    -1 Siphon Soul

    -2 Free Admission

    +1 Strongman

    +1 Sense Demons

    +1 Backfire

    +1 Khartut Defender

  • Quick backstory:

I've been playing since Naxxramas, and used to reach Rank 3 before the ladder revamp. I've made it to Diamond 4 a couple times (where I am now). I'm feeling pretty good about my chances for a first time Legend this month. I got to Diamond mostly playing Ramp Paladin, then switched to this greedy control warlock and have been doing well and having fun. I teach high school, and have vacation coming up next week, so more time to grind. I would love some support from this awesome community.

    Here's my current deck:

I would love suggestions on the deck itself, if you have any to offer.

If anyone wants to add me in game and spectate, it could be fun and helpful. I'm currently Diamond 4 Standard.

I tend to beat aggro either by a landslide when I get my good early game stuff and draw lots of Soul Fragments, or by a super thin margin, which is very exciting. I hold up well against most control decks. Ramp Paladin with Alura on curve kills me every time, but what can you do.

Send me positive vibes, Out of Cards! I'm on my way!

  • I've been playing a Quest/C'Thun/Rustwix control warlock the last couple days, and it's very fun (and pretty good). Here's my issue: it seems like I'm always drawing Soul Fragments with my upgraded hero power and therefore missing out on the cost reduction. A couple times now I've tapped into a "free" soul fragment followed by a full cost Prime that might have saved me. Would I be better off removing the Soul Fragment package?

  • Use your Hero Power sparingly. My first try I fatigued myself by "tapping" too often.

Contrarily, the "spend health to play cards" for Priest specifies that you have to be playing Priest, which is a bummer cause Warlocks could knock that out in wild pretty quick otherwise.

Well on this one, you can indeed complete it with Warlock. All you need is to play Seadevil Stinger and you´re good to go. It´s surelly a bug and maybe it was fixed by now, but still worked for me a while ago.

Definitely sounds like a bug ... one that I'll be exploiting this afternoon!

Can confirm: Seadevil Stinger works. Knocked out the entire achievement in about half an hour.
