Had a hilarious Hearthstone game with a friend today. I was playing Heal Druid and he had this weird Dragon deck. He copied my Lucentbark with a Cloning Device, then stole my Gloop Sprayer with Death Grip which he used to summon multiple copies of his taunt minions. He basically stole my strategy and gave me a taste of my own medicine lol
Damn, it just hit me that three sets will be rotating soon...I haven't prepared myself mentally for it. These are the cards I'll miss the most, though:
Zilliax - Best legendary ever printed. There's no argument against this.
Mojomaster Zihi - It's a shame this card didn't see much play. I remember slotting her into my Even Paladin deck, and she's an absolute OTK killer. All those Mecha'thun decks died when she entered standard, then no one used her again.
Captain Hooktusk - I crafted this before the rotation last year, thinking she'd be a staple in Rogue decks moving forward. Alas, she never found a home as lackeys became Rogue's main thing. I'm having fun with her in Wild, though.
Dr. Boom, Mad Genius - Ah, those Control Warrior decks were a pain to play against, but were super fun to play. He deserves to be un-nerfed, it just feels wrong that Dr. Boom isn't 7 mana.
Zul'jin - Insta-craft on day one, and boy is he powerful. Fun finisher for Hunter.
Thunderhead - One of the strongest Shaman cards printed (the buffed version).
Shudderwock - I just crafted this recently, then Galakrond Shaman got nerfed to the ground. Still fun to experiment with in Wild.
Supercollider - Probably my favorite weapon, it really forced opponents to think about the placement of minions on the board.
Sul'thraze - I'm sad this didn't see much play. I played this a lot when I was trying to make Quest Warrior work, but the deck just sucked so much.
The new Taunt Druid looks annoying to deal with, but it's not entirely oppressive. I've lost the two games I played against it, though I was playing Galakrond Warrior and I managed to get them below 10 health before running out of steam. It'll suffer from some super aggro decks based on what I've seen.
I just had two matches against Highlander Rogue today where I had them close to lethal, only for them to get a damn Nozari from Dragonqueen Alexstrasza. The first opponent I had down to 3 health, the second one was at 4. I swear, this game loves to fuck with you sometimes...
I second this salt - Dragonqueen Alexstrasza's text should say "add two LEGENDARY dragons" to be more honest. Most games I see her the opponent gets Kalecgos, Ysera, Unleashed, or some other OP 8/9/10-mana legendary for nothing.
Meanwhile, I've gotten Nozdormu from Dragonqueen Alexstrasza more times than I can count smh

Props to this dude for not immediately conceding after I dropped a 10/10 Edwin VanCleef on turn 2. He actually finished the game, I would have conceded lol
Here's my Day 1 impressions after screwing around at Rank 5:
1) Galakrond Quest Shaman is incredibly strong right now, though I think it's due to the lack of refined decks in the meta that could truly challenge it. The deck generates incredible value and wide boards though, making it really tough to deal with (Dragon's Pack and Corrupt Elementalist are incredibly annoying to face). I still think a quest-less Shaman could be a stronger deck in the future, but we'll see.
2) Handlock is pretty solid. I tried a control version with some legendary dragons (Alexstrasza, Malygos, Zzeraku the Warped) for a weird late-game approach, and it's working so far. It's the deck I had the most success with (currently 6-2) though it's still clunky.
3) Galakrond Warrior is strange. I'm still unsure whether it'll be better with a tempo/aggro or control shell. I tried the control shell because I just kept running into a lot of Shamans, but their near-infinite value is just incredibly difficult to outlast. I'm currently tinkering with a more aggressive build to take advantage of Galakrond's hero power.
4) Galakrond Priest is interesting. It's win condition relies on a late-game Talanji bomb, but I don't know how to proceed in the early and mid-game other than surviving. Maybe a dragon-heavy build is the way to go?
5) Galakrond Rogue looks like a solid tempo deck too. It just struggles against Shamans right now.
6) I am REALLY enjoying Deathwing, Mad Aspect, especially when he gets buffed by Galakrond, the Unbreakable. Watching a 16/16 minion lay waste to a whole board is just immensely satisfying.
I had this issue too. I played a Nozdormu that I got from Dragon Roar, then my opponent played a Corrupt Elementalist where the animations from invoking Galakrond froze the game for me. By the time the game was back online, my turn was over because, well, Nozdormu. Pretty funny, actually.
Pretty lame opening for me, though I'm ecstatic for Deathwing and Flik. I was hoping to get the Galakrond and Highlander staples (Kronx and the new Alexstrasza), but I'm gonna craft them anyway. Can't wait to dive into the new meta!
That's such a restrictive condition for a pretty weak payoff. Is it even possible to build a deck without neutrals? It's an interesting build-around strategy though, maybe Blizzard will do something like this in the future for a stronger payoff.
Good battlecry, which is really powerful when fully invoked. I think this will be the most prominent Galakrond on ladder, given how strong Shaman's invoke cards are.
This has Mage written all over it. Could be slotted into a Highlander Paladin deck to get more secrets, though there are some shitty 1-mana spells from that class.
Fantastic weapon in and of itself, though I don't see it being played in any deck other than Dragon Hunter. Maybe a dragon-heavy highlander deck could use this. Though if this sees regular play, this warrants teching in weapon removal because it's that good.
I think this is still pretty good, even with most of the magnetic mechs rotating out. A Control Warrior deck could definitely use this.

Wow, I never knew that O_O

Wow that looks awesome tbh
My insta-crafts are always the cards that I think will be prevalent in the meta. Which would mean the following for DoD:
1) Kronx Dragonhoof
2) Frizz Kindleroost
3) Dragonqueen Alexstrasza
As for cards that I'm personally interested in which I might craft:
1) Dragonrider Talritha (I'll try to make Dragon Paladin work)
2) Dragonbane (Hero Power Hunter looks interesting)
3) Ancharrr (Pirate Warrior!)
106 packs:
Valdris Felgorge
Deathwing, Mad Aspect
Malygos, Aspect of Magic
Ysera, Unleashed
Flik Skyshiv
Pretty lame opening for me, though I'm ecstatic for Deathwing and Flik. I was hoping to get the Galakrond and Highlander staples (Kronx and the new Alexstrasza), but I'm gonna craft them anyway. Can't wait to dive into the new meta!
Best invoke card so far. 1/2 body that immediately adds value to your hand. Thank God they didn't print this for Galakrond Warlock.

The artwork is really sweet, though.

Wow. This card just craps on the entire Warrior and Druid classes. There's not even a condition to pull it off.
I guess Control Warrior will be dead for the foreseeable future, as long as this card exists....
This has Mage written all over it. Could be slotted into a Highlander Paladin deck to get more secrets, though there are some shitty 1-mana spells from that class.
Me likey. That's great value in a 3-mana card, in a Crocolisk body. Solid.
