  • Standard is now teeming with Face Hunters, Tempo Mages, Paladins, and a smattering of Priests. I played a lot yesterday and these were the only classes I faced.

I just have to say, any person who plays Face Hunter deserves a huge slap to the face.

  • There's nothing worse than facing a roper when you're already on a terrible losing streak.

Seriously, all ropers must die. If you like roping someone, please, just fuck off and die. You're doing all of us a favor

  • Ugh, I just lost a marathon match to this fucking Control Priest. He managed to get back like 10+ Wandmakers and Cobalt Spellkins from various discover cards and Raise Dead, which kept giving him Renew and [Hearthstone Card (Wave of Apath) Not Found]y that healed him up and negated whatever board damage I had. I was playing Soul DH so I had limited amount of damage, but I was still able to get him down to 3 health. Of course, he kept healing himself back up.

Good game from my opponent, but if I ever see him in person I'm gonna beat him until his legs don't work anymore. That loss started a 4-game losing streak for me when I was 2 stars away from legend, now I'm back at Diamond 3.

  • Lol

  • I love having good, solid wins like managing to beat a Guardian Druid who ramped into Guardian Animals + Anubisath Defender on turn 3, then played another Guardian Animals by turn 5. I somehow managed to stay alive with a couple of Soul Shears and Shardshatter Mystics, and a well-timed Blade Dance, then I just chopped him down over three turns. I cherish wins like these more than the wild shenanigans this game provides sometimes.

Oh, and I love Soul Fragment DH. Currently 20-5 with it, and I think I have a serious chance of hitting legend with it. It's mowing through everything right now.

  • I'm still surprised that Disciplinarian Gandling isn't seeing play. That card looks great in theory, but it somehow hasn't found a home in this current meta. Unless it's being used in a meta deck that I just don't know about? Looks like Trump was correct in giving it 1 star (though I think it'll see play in the future).

  • Am I the only one who thinks this portrait is...weird? I can't put a finger on Jaina's facial expression there, it's creeping me out.

I'm excited for the other datamined portraits though.

  • How do you beat an opponent who's playing an annoying deck like Infinite Turtle Mage? Well, by ruining his game plan with an even more annoying card like Mindrender Illucia, of course!

Basically, my opponent had played like a thousand of those turtles and re-copying it into his hand with the new Mage illusion spell. I just waited until I was sure he'd drawn all copies of it then hit him with the Illucia and wasted every single one of those damn turtles. Feels good.

  • I was playing a mirror match against a Bomb Warrior, and we were hitting each other in the face all game long. That is, until he played a Blastmaster Boom and filled his board with boom bots. Well, I had no other choice but to play my own Boom, play Whirlwind, and BRING ON THE BOMBS! Mwahahaha

(I won, by the way. My Blastmaster Boom absorbed most of the bomb damage lol)

  • What the hell is up with Wild? I'm queuing into nothing but Reno Priests. Why did they have to buff this archetype again? As if it wasn't cancer already.

  • Congrats! I reached legend for the first time in Wild too, and it was a truly satisfying feeling. Enjoy it!

I also hope you got a better legendary than I did (Hogger)!

Its not really a weird interaction. Rattlegore is actually 8 minions in one, each an individual card. Its does not really interact with the health/attack of the minion itself, hence why Subdue doesnt just kill it all at once.

Its more like team5's code for this card is actually very different from its description. Very confusing, to be honest.

But isn't that weird? The card text for Rattlegore says "Resummon this with -1 -1," so it's logical to assume that whatever stats it's summoned in, that should be deducted when it's resummoned. S

Congrats! I like that archetype, too. Would you mind sharing your list?

There you go! That's the list I hit legend with (I think that was the standard one), but I switched out the Whirlwind and Plague of Wrath with two copies of Awaken! because I'm facing a lot of Aggro Rogues recently, just to immediately clear their stealthed 1-health minions and hit them in the face for 3. It's got mixed results so far, I think this list I posted is still kind of better.

Goal is to tutor Wrenchcalibur then re-equipping it Hoard Pillagers and buffing it with Doctor Krastinov and Upgrade! You can shuffle up to 10 bombs in your opponent's deck, if they don't die first from getting hit in the face constantly :P

  • I just played a 40-minute game against this Suicide Warlock who kept roping the entire game. He always waited until the rope was halfway through before making his move, and I got pissed off by turn 4 that I started roping him too. It wasn't until turn 10 when he decided to stop screwing around, but he still took his time.

I did end up winning the game (pretty satisfying too, he got me down to 6 health but I was able to armor up and he drew like 3 consecutive bombs and suiciding with two Crazed Netherwings), but man, what a WASTE OF TIME. I hope I wasted that idiot's time too and made him feel bad that I beat his ass at his own game.

  • The problem is I don't really enjoy Mage that much...I'm actually undecided between crafting Astromancer Solarian and Murozond the Infinite since they're the legendaries I'm missing for highlander Mage and Priest decks. I'll wait to see how the meta settles before deciding, but you're right, Solarian does look more flexible.

  • I made legend again! In Standard mode this time :D

I was playing Bomb Warrior, which was already emerging before the nerfs, but bloomed into an unstoppable force after Druid was hit. This was one of my favorite decks in RoS, and to reach legend with it makes me really happy.

Had some luck too, as I somehow managed to outlast several Pure Paladins along the way. I was playing a decklist with a pirate package, but switched to a control-heavy one because I kept losing in the mirror matches (had to craft Kargath Bladefist to complete the deck, dust well spent). Shuffling endless bombs into your opponents' decks still gives me unspeakable joy.

  • What a wonderful bundle this was for me. My two free Scholomance legendaries were Vectus and Professor Slate, then the Year of the Dragon packs yielded me a Reno the Relicologist and Arch-Villain Rafaam! The Reno legendary is more than welcome, now I can try out a Highlander Mage since I have almost all of the legendaries needed (just need to craft Astromancer Solarian). Good deal!

  • I love how the flavor text is a direct reference to Parasite, one of my favorite movies :D

  • Based from my day 1 experience, here are the cards that I think should be nerfed:

    1) Lightning Bloom - This is just insane in Druid. I've watched Trolden's latest video and there were streamers ramping to Guardian Animals by turn 3. Someone even did it in turn 1 because he had 2x Lightning Bloom and Innervates in hand. It's way too much.

    2) High Abbess Alura - Will be nerfed to 5 mana, I'm sure. High-rolling a buff that makes this 11/14 with Blessing of Authority is game-ending. Really strong right now, though maybe the meta will just correct itself against it.

    3) Soulshard Lapidary - I haven't faced much DHs, but when I played Soul Fragment DH this card was a real problem. The curve of turn 4 Marrowslicer into Lapidary just deals insane damage, especially when it hits face. I think they won't touch this now, but if DH rises up again, this will be one of the cards targeted.

    4) Guardian Animals - I think this will be nerfed to 8. I actually think 7 mana is pretty reasonable for it, it's just that Druid can abuse it with all the ramp tools it has.

    5) And I agree with the poster who said Sorcerer's Apprentice should be nerfed. The shenanigans that Mage can pull with this card is just insane, especially now with Mozaki, Master Duelist in the meta. That said, nerfing it could be problematic given hwo it's such an integral part of the class's core set and identity.

  • Looks interesting, I'll try it out. Thanks for sharing.

The only legendary I'm missing is Patches. I've always been hesitant to craft that guy :P
