I saw the Mage hero power achievement and thought, I’ve already done that so many times in my old Odd Mage days! Double Fire Eater and the elemental that gives +2 to your hero power. That or Fire Eater plus Clockwork. And this was before Tour Guide so (back in my day) I had to still pay the 2 mana to get the 8 damage ping off!
I actually meant to try making a Ping Mech Mage to get this one, but maybe your version is better just for a quick achievement grab!
I work during those hours and not a job where I can’t watch Twitch/YT at work. So yeah… unless it’s a wider window like before or just “watch a minute, get 2 packs” I might miss these two.
Playing Wild last night, Almost every opponent I fought was Alliance (like me). Made me wonder what they AvH balance looks like when comparing players who mostly play Standard vs players who mostly play Wild?
Personally I chose Alliance because I thought Vanndar would have more potential for crazy Wild shenanigans. But figured everyone would gravitate towards Drek’thar simply because he’s a better tempo play and HS meta has been fast lately, especially in Wild.
But after yesterday I’m thinking either 1) more Wild players went with Alliance for the same reasons as me or 2) at end of month I was just getting matched up with the players in Wild that enjoy off meta and/or meme decks like me and it’s those players who went with Vanndar, not necessarily a reflection of a Wild majority.
I was wondering earlier today if they are going to have either an achievement to unlock a portrait or two, or if they'll include Tavish portraits in some sort of bundle offer. Guess we'll see!
He most definitely did! Never bought either of the Windrunner sisters for Hunter skins, and frankly don't want them, and every other Hunter portrait is a type of Rexxar. Was hoping for the Tavish portraits to have more variety in that class.
Most likely it just has to take exact lethal damage from any source or it’s resummoned. A more reasonable question is how do “Destroy” effects interact with this effect? You don’t overkill the minion when destroying it with Execute, or Shadow Word: Pain. But you also don’t kill it with exact damage.
Feel like because you must kill it with an Honorable Kill situation a destroy effect just brings it back, but we’ll have to wait and see in a few weeks.
You forgot to say “if the meta is slow enough to get to turn 7.” Personally I’d love a world where Frostlich Jaina can make a comeback in Mage. For as annoying as she used to be, not even having the option to play cards like her with hyper aggro metas is more annoying.
Well even if what I'm remembering is correct it may not be set in stone, which would be pretty fun honestly. Perhaps they will update it over time. But my guess is they won't. It's not exactly a card that sees a lot of play (if any) in Wild.
Pretty sure they said something during Scholomance’s expansion cycle that it would get updates while in Standard but likely would not once in Wild.
Can’t remember if they had a distinct plan but if they don’t update it the new boards after AV will probably just be “Battlecry: Discover a card from (set).” with (set) being whatever set that board is from.
Maybe also in some combo warlock decks for the draw?
I am always trying to make Maly Warlock decks work in Wild. Immediately started thinking about it again after seeing this card!
I they put out a warlock spell or a 5 mana minion that draws your lowest cost minion, I can more reliably play [Hearthstone Card (VandarStormpike) Not Found] to help reduce Maly’s cost, maybe another cost reduction on some damage spells through Thaurissan, Lorekeeper to draw OG Maly and Draw a bunch of Spells Maly to get the combo off. But… in Wild?! Sooo slow!
However! This Hero card could help delay, the Rifts give me board presence (when I draw them), and could be combo’d with other stuff, even if resurrecting 3/3’s isn’t too strong.
But yeah, it may not (probably won’t) work. We’ll see what else gets printed and I’ll try it when the set launches.

All the Wild players that dusted their Moorabi are going to feel really stupid when Freeze Shaman becomes king of the meta now! Not me tho! I got my icy boi just waiting to team up with Misha’s frozen cousin.
Did Forbidden Ancient ever see play? Not trolling, I'm legit asking because I don't ever remember seeing it in play ever. I have hope for the Ice Lord though as it does have not only more stats per mana but the potential to gain the keywords is also a huge plus in comparison to Ancient.
And it looks like it’s bugged already! It says gain +1/+1 but goes from a 2/2 weapon to a 3/1 weapon in the example video. Maybe they recently updated it to add a durability and the video was made when it just gained attack
Feel like this expansion is a perfect time to add a little “faction” icon on all minions that would have a faction. Then you could have “Give all your Alliance minions X” as an effect. Then add those icons to Mercs too so people can stop wondering what faction each character is in, if any.
It might not seem like a big deal, but the physical TCG had these factions as well and either buffs, auras, or other effects that had synergies with certain factions. It would open up some design space and push the AvH fantasy more if implemented. Maybe they’ll surprise us with something like this when reveals start in 30 mins

If you earn an achievement now you can wait until the reward track refresh to click it. If you do that, the xp should go towards the new reward track.
