We've got a brand new event in Hearthstone's Mercenaries game mode and it's here only for a limited-time! This time, we'll venture into many dangerous Bounty zones with the aid of N'Zoth, (in)famous Old God that already made its appearance in Hearthstone in Whispers of the Old Gods with N'Zoth, the Corruptor.
Our journey won't be in search of just fame and success, but you'll be able to complete a set of 10 event Tasks, which will reward you coins for N'Zoth and many other goodies.
Here are all the tasks that are available during the N'Zoth Mercenaries event. Click any of the links below to visit our guide for the task.

As you can see, these tasks are quite the mixed bag: while some are fairly simple to complete, others require more than a bit of thinking (and luck: that one's always welcome) and planning ahead.
Moreover, certain tasks clearly state that you need Comps consisting of Mercenaries belonging to specific races in order for your progresses to count: while the Leeroy Jenkins event was about Orcs, Humans and Dragons, this time you'll need the help of Humans, Dwarves, Elves, and... Murlocs!
Not all challenges might be as difficult as they seem at a glance: there are usually tips and tricks to be found to make everyone's lives easier. In this series of guides we'll take a look at how to complete each event Task, so that you'll be able to get your hands on all the rewards available. As of now, we'll focus our attention on the current task.
In case you missed them, if you click the banner below you'll have access to each of our task guides for this event.

How to Complete the "Damage Supreme" Task from the N'Zoth Event
- Requirement: Deal 100 damage with N'zoth's Corrupted Viscera in a single battle.
- Rewards: N'Zoth Golden portrait.
- Difficulty: 1/5
Probably the easiest task of the entire N'Zoth event. Let's start with explaining how Corrupted Viscera 1 works. Differently from what you may think, this ability doesn't blow up your entire board, but just your minions - this is not a text inconsistency from Team 5, as minions and Mercenaries are two different kinds of unit:
- Mercenaries are the ones you find in your collection.
- Minions are the ones you summon at the start of the game or throughout the match thanks to specific equipments or abilities.
- Think about Balinda Stonehearth's Lesser Water Elemental 1 or N'Zoth's Spawn of N'Zoth 1.
With this piece of information in mind, you'll understand that Damage Supreme basically asks you to summon minion(s) on your side of the board and then sacrifice them with Corrupted Viscera 1, dealing damage equal to their Attack to all enemies.
Upgrading this ability only grants more Health, so there's no upside in investing coins on it for Damage Supreme.
There are two ways (which can be cumulative) for you to get to that 100 damage output:
- Multiple minions - Corrupted Viscera 1 will sacrifice them all.
- Multiple enemies - Corrupted Viscera 1's damage will be dealt to all enemies: the more they are, the higher the total damage will be.
Given that Corrupted Viscera 1 is an ability with a cooldown of 5 turns, you'll need the match to go on for a bit: with this goal, Cookie, the Cook's Go Fish! 1 ability is perfect, as it will summon harmless units on the opposing side of the board - if you kill all the actual enemies, those fish will give you as much time as you want; moreover, you can summon more of them for additional Corrupted Viscera 1's damage targets.
Secondly, you need a Mercenary that spawns minions on your side of the board: N'Zoth itself can do it, but Spawn of N'Zoth 1 has little stats and Rush, which can mess up your plans poorly. There are far superior alternatives in your collection.
Suggested Comps
Although there may be more ways to complete Damage Supreme, there's no need for particular comps to pull this off, as you just need N'Zoth, Cookie, the Cook and a third Mercenary that will spawn units on your side of the field.
We think the best minion summoner for this task is Lady Anacondra. [Hearthstone Card (Nightmare Viper 5) Not Found] summons a 15/15 (which becomes a 25/25 with the [Hearthstone Card (Snake Snacks 4) Not Found] equipment), which can be easily buffed with [Hearthstone Card (Mend Beast 5) Not Found].
[Hearthstone Card (Nightmare Viper 5) Not Found] [Hearthstone Card (Mend Beast 5) Not Found] [Hearthstone Card (Snake Snacks 4) Not Found]
You don't really need these abilities and equipment to be maxed: they do the trick even at lower levels too, although they require more time for a proper setup. All in all, here's what you need to do:
- Start any bounty you want.
- Use Cookie, the Cook's Go Fish! 1 and summon a fish for your opponent.
- Kill all the opposing non-fish units.
- Use Lady Anacondra's Nightmare Viper 1 and summon a Viper.
- Buff it with Mend Beast 1.
- Summon additional fish with Go Fish! 1.
- When you control minion(s) with enough Attack or there are enough units on the opposing side of the board, cast Corrupted Viscera 1
Here's a really simple table to help you. Math is hard, I feel you.
ATK=ATTACK | 1 ENEMY | 2 EMEMIES | 3 ENEMIES | 4 ENEMIES | 5 ENEMIES | 6 ENEMIES |
MINIONS' ATK | 100 Atk | 50 Atk | 34 Atk | 25 Atk | 20 Atk | 17 Atk |
To prove this comp of being fit for this task, we actually recorded a video showing you that you can pull this off with ease.

Comments
Love these guides. Think we will get one for #8 Emperor Dethroned before the event ends? I'm scratching my head looking for a solution for that one.
Noticed a bug. The golden portrait shown as the reward is not the actual portrait you get when completing the this task. You get the other golden portrait, the one similiar to the diamond version.
At least for me it was like this. :D
Yeah, it's a random N'Zoth golden portrait: it's not specified, but I received reports of people getting different portraits. For example, I received the new N'Zoth art.
Thanks for the explanation, worked like a charm first try!
