AMAZING card. One of the most CORE parts of BIG spell mage. Iceblood Tower can cast Iceblood Tower #2 if its still in your deck, allowing you to BREEZE through your Big spells. But that's the only problem with Iceblood Tower. If you cast so many Big spells, your gonna run out fast. Which means you need a lot of big spells, AND those big spells need to have synergy with being cast at random.

INSANE. Remember Mass Polymorphs effect is why you generally pick the 10 cost option with Kazakus in wild. (Mainly against BIG priest or a deck with lots of deathrattles) and now you just get it for 7 mana? that AMAZING. Must-include in Big spell mage and maybe solid 1-off option for any other slower mage deck if the meta is slow enough.
Oh uh back to standard. Mass Polymorph gives BIG spell mage the ability to counter Deathrattle Priest, Deathrattle Rogue and honestly any BIG deck. Which are most archetypes that are getting support this expansion. Not only that, but it's a arcane spell so you can repeat it with Magister Dawngrasp. Insane defensive tool. Loving this set more and more.
Rune of the Archmage is A LOT more reliable because it can only cast mage spells AND it can only target enemies. This makes Rune of the Archmage so much stronger. Also remember that Solarian Prime had to get nerfed, and she had a similar effect. Except she guaranteed 5 spells, while Rune of the Archmage can cast less but way bigger spells. Not only that, but the spell pool for mage is quite good. Ever since the Core set there has been a lot less bad cards, including spells in the pool which made "random" way too reliable. And i feel like Rune of the Archmage will be reliable and good enough to see play. (Which i dislike, i like good o'l 50/50 between good and "stuck in hand till i win or lose" level of trash.)
Rune of the Archmage will see play in every control/slower mage deck in standard, Big spell mage in both standard/wild AND it might see play as a 1-off in Spell mage, just because it could generate some huge amount of burn for 9 mana. Actually scratch that, for 7 mana because of 2x Incanter's Flow.
I dont mind seeing cards like these in mage, as long as they make questline mage a bit less popular by actually giving them an alternative.

So it draws 2 spells, Naga Sand Witches those 2 spells AND turns their original costs into stats?!? Thats GREAT... if the board matters again. But still Balinda Stonehearth is a core card in Big Spell mage. Without her the archetype becomes a lot less reliable. if you want to play big spell mage, you MUST have Balinda Stonehearth in order to make the deck more reliable.

Hmm Magister Dawngrasp seems pretty bad on first sight, but its probably a bit better if you think about it. The hero power is just a upgrade from the base one, which means you can probably slot Magister Dawngrasp into ping mage as well... (probably if you save up Wildfires) Now for the battlecry: Not that bad if you think about it.
In BIG spell mage you already have 4 spell schools present: Arcane Overflow or Mass Polymorph = Arcane, Deep Freeze or that snowman summon card = Frost, Maybe Flamestrike as the fire spell. And fun fact: Mask of C'Thun is actually a Shadow spell. This got recently changed, and isn't updated yet on this site yet. (Just look it up on playhearthstone for confirmation.), this means you ALWAYS get Mask of C'Thun from the battlecry as it's mages ONLY shadow spell.
Of course it's quite... Unfortunate that Mage doesn't have acces to Holy, nature and Fel magic, (unless casino mage counts lol.) otherwise Magister Dawngrasp would be so much better. But considering their doing lots of weird spell school stuff, like frost warrior makes me think that we MIGHT get a holy, nature and fel spell for mage in the future. Maybe not this expansion or the mini set, but probably in the next year.
Standard: Overall i'm certain Magister Dawngrasp will see plenty of play in slower mage decks because of the Ignite like hero power, and with the synergy with big spell mage, which got pushed HARD this expansion.
Wild: I bet Magister Dawngrasp will see play in BIG spell mage decks in wild, which probably will get a resurgance because of standard Big Spell mage. But outside of that i feel like Magister Dawngrasp will also be a solid option for one special archetype i love playing.... CASINO MAGE! Firelands Portal, Deck of Wonders, Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron can all be repeated! THAT'S RIGHT Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron ALSO got recently updated into a SHADOW spell! Just like Mask of C'Thun! BIG Casino mage got some HUGE buffs, and i cannot wait to play it! (Especially interested in a deck with Vanndar Stormpike in order to discount my yoggs... Probably less raliable, but Casino mage and "reliable" dont belong in one sentence) >:D

2 secrets and get a free Holy Smite alongside it? Seems solid! But the best part about Spring the Trap is that it casts secrets from your deck. This is AMAZING because it thins out your deck, and lets you draw stuff you actually want to draw. It is a bit random with what secrets you get from your deck, but i feel like that's not that bad considering your probably only running good secrets.
The only thing i'm a bit skeptical about is that fact that we haven't seen a secret revealed yet. They really need to give hunter some more secrets, otherwise secret hunter will have a BIG problem next expansion. This is because next expansion will be another hearthstone year, which means all the secret hunter support from the darkmoon set will rotate into wild.
OH and in wild, Secret hunter might be pretty good now. Secret hunter will have a lot of fun next expansion, and i bet Highlander hunters with a secret package will probably include Spring the Trap as well, so they can more reliably draw cards such as zephrys, reno or one of the branns instead of a secret.

Skull of the Man'ari but it only activates once. Still that's REALLY good. Basicly you invest 5 mana, or your turn 5 into a HUGE play next turn. It does seem slow, but considering you can kinda control what happens next it can still be a huge swing. Get out a Pit Commander, Illidari Inquisitor or Ancient Void Hound on turn 6 thanks to Sigil of Reckoning and then spend your 6 mana on stabalising the board, or just play Caria Felsoul. I bet Sigil of Reckoning will be a staple core card in BIG DH.
I'm weirdly really looking forward to seeing how Cariel will react to Tamsin being Ressed as a lich by Lady Prestor.
Is this a confirmed thing, that tamsin was raised back as a lich by lady prestor? We know shes a lich now, but not who raised her
Uh they said this in the Hearthside Chat video where they revealed the tamsin hero card. They reveal this between timestamps 1:30 and 1:52! Actually i did make a small mistake, she got ressed by Lady Prestor AND kazakus.

Personally i would say Cariel or Tamsin. The thing i like about tamsin is that she is the "comic relief" character at one moment with all of her of "Imp" puns, and the next moment she can be the most messed up and scary merc out of the cast. The fact that the undead warlock is the villain is kinda cliché to me, but i still think they have done a really good job with her story so far.
The thing i like about Cariel is the story of her and tamsin, and everything she did after Tamsin died to the scourge. I also really like how Cariel immediately left her post to find the forsaken warlock that "looked like tamsin" because that shows how much she truly cared about tamsin, even if she was turned into a forsaken. Just look at the final fight of Kurtras BoM, where Cariel instantly joins tamsin and betrays Kurtras despite the fact that Kurtras and Cariel worked together for the entirety of Kurtras BoM. Also even when tamsin summoned Anetheron into stormwind Cariel still thought tamsin was redeemable... until she saw what Tamsin did to their father. I'm weirdly really looking forward to seeing how Cariel will react to Tamsin being Ressed as a lich by Lady Prestor.
But i do want to say that Varden is also on top of my list, Varden is pretty cool. I just hope were going to get some Varden lore or a Varden BoM in not too long. I really want to learn more about Vardens backstory, because that's something Varden kinda lacks right now. (Unless i missed something.)

Tunnel Blaster but the class version. (Remember class cards are most of the time better than neutral versions.) This seems like a solid control card and a good option for questline priests 6 drop. And in non-questline decks it's still a good anti-aggro tool. Also this card + Apotheosis seems really good against aggro. Another thing to remember that this is a deathrattle minion, which means it can get ressed by Amulet of Undying.
In standard 100% sees play in control priest decks. Those decks aren't good right now but maybe this card and potentially the hero card can change that. (Xyrella hero card hasn't been revealed yet, but considering she is seen ressing people in the trailer i think it might be control/ress related?)
In wild it MIGHT give Convincing Infiltrator a run for it's money in ress decks. I personally think that this card might actually beat Convincing Infiltrator even though it costs 1 more mana, just because potentially wiping out a board of minions is WAY more valueable in wild right now then killing 1 random minion.

Meh, Heavy Plate is better. The only time Frozen Buckler is better is if freeze warrior has frost spell synergy and your desperate to run Frozen Buckler AND your opponent has 10+ attack of stats on board. Just playing Frozen Buckler without expecting to get damaged just makes it a worse Iron Hide, and Iron Hide has pretty much never seen play.

I LOVE THIS CARD. Dr. Boom, Mad Genius and Kalimos, Primal Lord in one! This is such a cool value and control tool for shaman. Also remember it is a battlecry, which means it can be copied with Brilliant Macaw AND you can double it and replay it a bunch of times in one turn thanks to Bolner Hammerbeak which can lead to some fun and interesting (but not reliable) combos.
The one problem with Bru'kan of the Elements is that it's very slow. Sure for 8 mana you get some effects, but most are not really that good right away. Bru'kan of the Elements becomes better the longer the game lasts, because you get more value from the hero powers this way.

So this can trigger eggs and summon a minion from your deck. This will probably see play in nearly zoolock deck in standard. Oh and in wild i think Cubelock might experiment with it, after all a Sacrificial Summoner onto a 3 cost minion can summon a Voidcaller.

REALLY good deathrattle support. Maybe this can make the memey SCREAM rogue work thanks to Forsaken Lieutenant and Snowfall Graveyard. (Scream, because of Infiltrator Lilian lol) Either way i'm happy to see some deathrattle rogue support again, lets hope it works out this time.
OH in in wild i think some deathrattle rogue deck will slot this in.

Hmm this is a interesting card. Shadow spell so might see play in shadow priest, and Shadow Word: Devour can counter 1 health minions by training their 1 hp. This looks more like a control card, maybe in some kind of Sethekk Veilweaver value package? This doesn't really see play but perhaps the new priest card that haven't been revealed yet might change that? Maybe were getting a Inner Fire priest kinda deck? (I hope not) Worst case scenario some Inner Fire priest will use this in wild alongside Inner Fire and Stonetusk Boar, and wild is full of board swarmy decks, so it wont be hard to use Shadow Word: Devour.
Either way it looks bad now, but as this is the only priest card revealed at the time of writing this, i bet we will see more support for it.

VERY good aggro DH card. Dreadprison Glaive lets you trade AND go face, and if you hero power it alreay reaches 2 health which is a good attack value for proccing the honorable kill. Not only that but if something has 1 health, you just dont hero power. Worst case scenario it has 1 more durability than Trueaim Crescent, which might make Dreadprison Glaive even better in aggro DH. That one extra swing can go a long way.
However i feel like WILD is where it will shine most. After all Dreadprison Glaive will surely fit into ODD DH, making it a 3 attack weapon allowing it to trade into 3 health minions and proc the honorable kill as early as on turn 2, or turn 1 with coin.

Very solid token DH card, will see play even if its just in a normal aggro DH deck. We know from Flesh Giant and pretty much every giant will see play.
Saidan is easely a 5/5 star card, and a must-include in nearly all paladin decks in standard. And in wild i bet handbuff paladin will make room for it, and its a great option for The Last Kaleidosaur decks. :)
Not a huge discount for getting a big Demon into play, considering most big Demons in DH are only 2 mana more. If you can discount this lady, then copy her with Felosophy, now we're talkin'.
Uhm i just wanted to remind you that Felosophy copies the lowest cost demon, and Caria Felsoul isn't a demon. but i agree on the discounts, those only make her stronger! She seems very good alongside Vanndar Stormpike.

But hey standard aside. I'm just a simple man, and Iceblood Tower can cheat out Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron, Deck of Wonders (Even though it has anti-synergy) and Rune of the Archmages in wild. So i give 5 stars. >:)

Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron IS BACK! Instant 5 stars from me. However i do REALLY hope it CANT cast another Rune of the Archmage. Remember that Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron saw regular play back in the day because the random could finish the game or allow a comeback.
Rune of the Archmage is A LOT more reliable because it can only cast mage spells AND it can only target enemies. This makes Rune of the Archmage so much stronger. WOW. this card is INSANE. With all of the handbuff stuff in paladin right now Saidan the Scarlet can EASELY become a HUGE stat bomb and remove something. Saidan the Scarlet already becomes a 3 mana 4/4 rush after 1 Alliance Bannerman. Not only that, but Saidan the Scarlet is also amazing with Lightforged Cariel. Lightforged Cariels Blessing of Queens gives Saidan the Scarlet +8/+8. NOT ONLY THAT, but it gets buffes WHEREVER it is. This means it also doubles buffs when in deck (Invigorating Sermon synergy? lol. Oh and in wild i guess Prince Keleseth.) AND when on the battlefield. Libram of Wisdom becomes +2/+2 when going onto Saidan the Scarlet. Oh and Blessing of Authority gives Saidan the Scarlet +16/+16. That's scary. If Saidan the Scarlet lives a turn, it can easely end the game on the spot.
Saidan is easely a 5/5 star card, and a must-include in nearly all paladin decks in standard. And in wild i bet handbuff paladin will make room for it, and its a great option for The Last Kaleidosaur decks. :)
