A stronger but slower version of Shu'ma. Board control in a single card.
As AngryShuckie, the whelps have no summoning sickness, so they can hit face on your turn. The 8/8 body itself is a soft taunt and it's pointless to clear the whelps as they generate every turn. If you cant clear her, on an empty board, this is 14 damage every turn (8 from Onyxia + 6 whelps).
Downsides I see:
Very slow. Will be run only in control decks or top heavy mid range.
If your opponent has no board, this card will board lock you every turn.
Vanilla stats with rush. I'd say this better than a Militia Commander as this remains a threat after rushing, also doesn't feel too bad to drop this for tempo.
Leans more towards aggro warrior (Pirate Warrior making a return?), but hard to see a deck that doesn't run this especially in a 4 set meta. 2/1 is solid stats for a 1 drop though aggressively stated with text that makes you either curve better or do more in a single turn.
First Impression: I can see this card opening a lot of shenanigans.
One, you can tutor a specific card. If you only have 3 beasts in your deck, you are guaranteed to get what you want (like Tortollan Pilgrim for turtle mage),
Two, you can dup the card. So essentially you can have 4 copies of a regular card or 3 copies of a legendary in your deck.
Only downside I am seeing is that it costs 8 mana. Way more than the DH normal curve.
Assuming you have a weapon equipped on 8, drop this, rush a small minion, hit face, then this hits face for 8. Pretty insane, board control plus face pressure.
What does “permanent +2/+1” mean? If I play a second-generation (3/4) Sunscale Raptor, does it stay 3/4 after it’s silenced or returned to hand?
No is certain yet, but I expect it changes the base stats of a minion. For example Horrendous Growth or Jade Golems. So it immune to silence or sap effects.
As for the card, I expect to see it in hunter decks even for the stats alone. As for the text, I am not too sold on it. I think it depends if they give hunter better card draws on the core set or the expansion.
The way I understood the text, it will be the base copy shuffled back into your deck. So 3/4 will be it's biggest form.
So regarding Classic pack, this is how it seems to me:
If you hope to open HoF cards (except Baku & Genn), hold on until after rotation.
If you hope to open recently added Classic cards, open them now.
Have I understood it correctly? I have saved a couple of Classic packs, but I think I have all HoF cards already so it might be best to open them now...
That is my understanding as well. So if you have all the HOF cards that will be returning to classic, might as well open them now unless you specifically want dup or golden versions of the HOF cards.
If you only play Standard, you can disenchant your Legacy cards on rotation, but you'll only get the disenchant value, not the full craft value. However, if you do this for all your Legacy cards, it can still be a large pile of dust. Only do this though if you're very sure you only ever want to play Standard: as Duels has shown, there might be new game modes that make use of cards outside of Standard.
For opening Classic packs, if you only care about Standard, it doesn't matter when you open them. But if you care about other formats or modes, you might be better off holding on to them until rotation, since hall-of-famed cards like Ragnaros, Sylvanas and Leeroy should be returning to Classic packs.
I'm only planning to play mainly standard though might dabble in classic for the nostalgia. I won't be disenchanting any card since I have enough gold and dust banked up, and as you have mentioned, classic may have more uses outside of classic format.
Good point of returning legs from HOF. I will have to check if I have any missing HOF cards.
Same here. I am currently watching the vod from a few hours ago (the broadcast was in the middle of the night for me), and thought it was safe to visit here (others news from recent memory are spoiler free), then surprised to see the winner top and center. I lost motivation to watch vod lol.
Maybe a header like:
Hearthstone's New World Champion Would Love a Demon Hunter Tribute Card
or
Hearthstone's New World Champion Would Love a Tribute Card from a Specific Class
and instead of the pic of the winner, maybe a pic of the trophy?

Downsides I see:
I like the revamp of alex, though I'm not sure of her power level. Very flexible effect though, top end finisher or some late game heal.
Essentially a 7 mana 8/8, do nothing lol.
I don't think this card will be ran outside of meme decks.
Very solid card.

Wow this is strong.

Paladin hard removal albeit very conditional.
Dudedadin support in Standard! Definitely a core card for that.
I'm thinking is this is worth running a standalone.
First Impression: I can see this card opening a lot of shenanigans.
Not bad, this is essentially a 1 mana 3/5 if you are casting a spell that turn. Downside is it has an anti Synergy with Fungal Fortunes.
This looks really strong.
Only downside I am seeing is that it costs 8 mana. Way more than the DH normal curve.

Hey everyone,
With the recent announcement, anyone care to share any tidbits or some nice-to-know info?
My take-aways from the announcements:
**Disclaimer: this is just my understanding, so I may be wrong or have misunderstood.
Did I understand correctly, we will not get any dust for any cards that are in classic but rotate out, right? (example: Edwin)
Also, there's no point to holding unto classic packs right?
Same.
I hate priest. The goal of a priest deck is to tilt opponent not win the game.
I'd rather lose to aggro.
Woah, I thought they won't be printing new libram cards.
Strong card and auto include for any deck that run libram discounts.
I don't think there is an announcement yet, but my guess is in 3 weeks along with their scheduled patch.
That time should also around the halfway point of the current expansion.
I did not receive the packs on my main (I picked Bloodyface) or my alt (I picked Jarla).
Not sure if the one you received is from the "Pick your Champion" packs, or if my mine are delayed. My accounts are NA.
