Remember Jan'alai the Dragonhawk? This is just better in everyway. And is this a guitar playing undead? What's happening in the Barrens?!
Hero power mage decks? Interesting control idea
He's a boss in Razorfen Downs dungeon.
including the enemy hero? that's insane !
I am 69 years old and still reach Legend
Interesting payoff for running Fallen Hero

Pretty strong late-game bomb for a Control Mage, clears the board and helps push lethal now that Pyroblast will be gone. We'll have to see what other kinds of hero power support Mage gets though.
All enemies, including the face. It may seem hard to deal 10 damage with Hero Power, but remember that they've included Fallen Hero and Coldarra Drake in the Core set. We might also see more Hero Power synergy.
OBLIVION!
HP 10 times to activate? Oh this is going to be terrible. What's this other card they released?
Reckless Apprentice
Oh....ok. Time to play Hero Power mage!
Wild Mage with the DK is getting a buff too!
Well this is very interesting. Hero power mage could be fun.
Disclaimer: if the above is factually incorrect or complete rubbish it is definitely both intentional and comedy genius.
It is hard to tell whether or not a good deck can be built around this, but I know people will try.
I could see this working with the other new card that hits everything with your hero power since you only have to play two of those guys before this activates. I also think a Hero Power Mage can be a thing in wild with some of the cards from rastakahn's rumble.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Totally agree, we will se atleast one more heropower sinergy card for sure! :D

Including enemy hero, nice fiňisher

I'm excited for this card, but after my precious Jan'alai, I'll be hesitant!
Very cool card. Reviving my Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk deck in wild. Another pay off for hero power based mage is fun. Might be a little too late but that's a big effect. Definitely worth a try.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
Ok how is he a mage .It gives me more like a rogue vibe but ok.The effect is insane but you need some support to get there and time .Mage those not have frost nova anymore so we just have to wait and see.
A fully uninteractable Pyroblast to face that also AOEs the enemy board - seems crazy powerful.
Even mage in wild will be happy about this guy!
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
too expensive and not reliable effect
This and the rare they just revealed strongly hints that mage will be able to upgrade their hero power, at least temporarily. However, will mage have the tools to survive until turn 10 to play this card?
The payoff is so high that there's no way this won't see play
OMG love the hero power mage they are pushing.
Pretty insane in Wild with Genn Greymane, or with Rastakhan synergies.
On a lore sidenote, maybe my eyes deceive me because his name is different, but is not he the undead guitarrist on ETC band?
CALLED IT! i KNEW Mage was going to have hero power syngergy like in Rastahkans arena when i saw Fallen Hero and Coldarra Drake in the core set! (also said that prediction in the Core set Guide/card ratings.)
Mordresh Fire Eye seems like a really powerfull Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk/Pyroblast/Highkeeper Ra hybrid. And with Fallen Hero, Coldarra Drake and Reckless Apprentice it might be pretty easy to get the effect off. This battlecry also really helps mage out because were losing The Amazing Reno. But it's also kinda sad that Arcane Amplifier rotates. But still, i can't wait to include this in some kind of Hero power mage deck in wild. Maybe it will see play in EVEN mage as well? I was so dissapointed when Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk didnt see that much play because she wasn't supported that well, i certainly hope Mordresh Fire Eye will get some more support to make sure it's decent, and i hope i can play Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk in wild more often. I love playing hero power mage! :)
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Ok. I see why the hero power package was included in mage. Good payoff with a reasonable requirement. May be nerf material if burn mage too stronk.
Maybe I am over thinking this, but this seems REALLY easy to do in both standard and especially in wild. With the type of support that Mage has received in the last couple of expansions, as well as the core cards for 2021, this seems like it will be a staple in any non-aggro build.
That'S pretty crazy, but it might just be too slow.
10-drops usually have to be playable the turn you draw them, this might just not be online in time.
I guess this entirely comes down to how quickly you can juice it, but if you can do that reliably then this is an absolutely crazy swing card. Like, I don't think many decks in the game can come back from this.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Pyroblast to all enemies, can't underrestimate that power. 10 cost is very expensive though, so will probably only be played in control mage.
You really think a board clear + potential finisher card is not worth 10 mana? Well I do. Even if this does not end the game, opponent need to kill a 10/10... if you are not low life this card is absolutely insane
Murlocs <3
Wow this card is going to be a great finisher
I can even see this in control games, not even rushing to dealing the 10 damage for turn 10.
Great card, would love to play it in wild though with Even Mage.
Hard to trigger
This definitely has potential, especially with Reckless Apprentice. Hard to say how good it will be. There will definitely be some OTK that uses this.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
I wanted Jan'alai to work so bad when it was in standard. At first glance this seems maybe better, but 10 damage is a big condition to meet without falling hopelessly behind on board. Hope spring eternal though, as I imagine this would be an extremely satisfying way to end a game!
I mean, even in a long control game, without any additional synergy, this is a stable card.
How insane!
This is how a 10 Mana card should look like. Deals with the board and develops a body.
So many people not paying attention to the card that was revealed at the exact same time.
No, against most decks it will not be hard to meet the condition for this battlecry. Not by a long shot.
Against Control Warrior, maybe a bit tougher, but every archetype has its weak spots.
Pyroblast for everybody!
I think people will fiddle with this, but I don't see it being consistent unless there is more support to enable it.
Coldarra Drake, Fallen Hero, Reckless Apprentice, ...
I think HP Mage might be something.
Also, nice to see that Even Mage in Wild got some love.

Strong finisher. The core set will help
Great payoff card for a hero power Mage deck.
Chumbawumba is the worst band name.
This will be used as a finisher. On its own it might not more of an include than pyroblast would have been, so it will depend on the support it gets.
10 damage to everything. And that on a 10/10 stick. I don't have words. If its consistent, this is just insane.
Still it does commit you to using hp, so that's one very big condition to fill. Even with 2 Reckless Apprentice, its likely you'll either need Fallen Hero or do a few hp yourself.
I'm a bit on the fence, especially given that its a 10 cost card. But the pay off is so good, that you just got to believe.
I guess I'll be the 1000th to comment "Why isn't this odd?", because that's actually what I'm thinking about.
Board presence, board clear AND face damage. Love it.
I really hope mage´s HP will get some more support this expansion, otherwise I can only see this in Wild alongside Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk and Fallen Hero, etc.
♡ u 4ever 2008 - 2022
It's good against midrange decks once you manage to get it active, but it costs a lot to get it active in the first place. Against aggro it's too slow, against control you generally want a 10 mana card to win you the game if you can't cheat it out.
powerful wild card
I'm not sure this is a build around card. It seems like a card that just goes into some controly type mage deck.
Big guy with a big aoe damage. 10 mana are a lot, but the real problem are the "10 damage with hero power". It's not so easy for now, but probably we will see some card that will support this one. For now it's a big question mark...but i'm not too convinced.
Awesome card for control mage, nice board clear and body as well a good face damage too
This guy is awesome, love the art, love the effect, if hero power mage becomes a thing I definitely want to play it!
A more viable version of Highkeeper Ra. Nice
This might be expensive but it could be a good finisher.
Cool card
Ribbit
Normally might be far too slow, but it clears almost any board, and it does 10 damage to face, which has a decent chance of ending the game. Might be insane with Reckless Apprentice, and any cards that upgrade your hero power.
Seems way too slow to put into a deck, but if it gets discovered, would be worth it.
This is what a high mana cost legendary is supposed to be about. A good immediate board effect and a nice board threat to follow it up. I feel like I'll want to craft this if I don't unpack it.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
That was my thought also ; fun and interesting to at least give it a shot, but a tad slow. I mean, Jan'alai wasn't a quick early set-up either, and this one is even larger, with an interesting twist tho
Edit: I also just noticed Reckless Apprentice, which seems to indicate that Hero Power mage is on the menu!!
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
I mean it costs 10 and its a massive board wipe. It will likely have its condition met, especially if you use the apprentice that was released along side it. Once again they seem to be pushing control though and once again it will depend on the defensive options available since there are way too many sources of direct damage from hand available right now. Especially in Rogue and DH.
I really hope this works - fiddling around with hero power mage since janalai makes me wonder if this is finally a big enough playoff to make this archetype shine. Seems to be decent support in the other card that hero powers all enemies: with more this could be a monster
If this were in any class besides Mage, who has gotten other cards like this, I'd really hate the effect. Not the power of it, but the idea - Hearthstone has long strayed away from Shadowverse-y single card OTKs, which I love and appreciate. Most Hearthstone OTKs require a long game and several cards. Heck, even C'Thun requires other cards and quite a long game to bulk up to killing potential. Anything close to a giant 7 or 8 mana game-winning bomb printed with intent to speed up the meta feels disgusting. This isn't there yet by far, but it scares me. I hope that never happens.
Better call Thrall!
This is an extremely powerful card, as long as it gets the proper synergies (we already have one with Reckless Apprentice). 10 damage to ALL enemies is either a massive board wipe or lethal face damage, or even both. Very appropriate power for a 10-drop, seems like we haven't had one in a while.
I might try some Mage in the next expansion if this gets more synergies. I hope the animation will be sick.
Potential game-winner if can make use of cost-reducing cards
Rogue DH
Insane effect, looking forward to try it out in wild)
At first I thought this was weak, then I noticed the 10 damage wasn't split. This card definitely requires you to build your deck around it, but I like to see support for Even Mage in Wild.
Ah, so this is the type of finisher card the devs were talking about introducing. Looking back at all the support in the core set, HP mage looks pretty obvious now. Just bare in mind that the effect might not work for every class if this card is discovered/randomly generated. Good stats to evolve into as well.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Fireblast Mage incoming! With the upcoming support cards will be viable I guess
I can see this HP shell in a kind of control Mage, maybe in connection with Ras and other spell damage synergies.
Calling it now: Mage will get a Shadowform-like card in this set!
exactly this
I'm not online it's just your imagination
isnt this the card that comes every expansion which seems game broken but doesnt see any play other than meme stuff, i hope to be wrong but hmm...
I like this! Love the Ability, Flavour and Art!
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
A lot of setup but the support is there, both in the Core set and the Rare revealed at the same time. Reminds me of OG C'Thun, slow card but with very high reward. Will probably see a lot of experimentation, not so sure about making the meta.
Wild Hero Power Mage. I have to craft Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk, but who cares!
Fun incoming!
Papa Nurgle wants to share his gifts.
OMG can't wait to play my Inspire Mage once again in Wild, what a blast!
This needs a lot of support to be playable, but if it is playable, it also AWESOME.
I keep re-reading 'all enemies' like it's not real! o.O
This card will almost definitely have its condition met before turn 10, especially since we seem to be getting a few nifty tools to enable extra damage and reach with Mage's HP. In the worst case, you're playing a control Mage which can last long enough to pop this effect off anyway; I'm expecting this to be a must-have!
Started playing HS in May, 2015. The bad news: I missed the excitement of 'Naxx out?' and GvG. The good news: I never met an Undertaker.
5 stars - amazing, everything I have been looking for, insane damage that also hits face, finally revived hero power mage and will make even mage playable. And with the buff of the drake that lets you spam down your hero power, this is gonna be fun
I love this card. I have to use it!!!
Amazing! Love it! Can' wait to play this!
should clear most boards at 10 mana
Love it already!
EZ 5 star meta defining. this card will be everywhere.
also I see that all these hero power mage cards are made even cost, so that wild odd mage cant play them.
This cards seems ok but considering that we already have 3 support cards (Fallen Hero, Coldarra and the new guy), it looks great and reliable. It may be too slow but if there is a mid-to.late deck, it will use and abuse this.
Bring back old Warrior Control.
Great finisher! Not easy to trigger, but devastating effect!!!
That's a Pyroblast. And a 10 damage AoE. On a Faceless Behemoth worth of stats. The true definition of a payoff to a control archetype. The big question is whether or not Hero Power Mage can hang around. So far, with just 2 cards that add to the archetype, I'd say that possibility isn't too far, as you can still run a fairly extensive control shell. We'll have to wait and see.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
Good thing they revealed Reckless Apprentice at the same time. Even without it, Mordresh is strong if you can survive to the late game, but Hero Power synergy makes him very appealing.
Two Reckless Apprentices should be fine, but that 3-mana 2 extra HP damage elemental really pushes things up.
Obviously the replacement for Pyroblast. Power level depends on the amount of support this gets, with enough support this could be a win condition
English is not my native language, so please excuse occasional mistakes
Nice clear and pyroblast attached to a 10/10. What's not to love?!
Build around card.
Can work as a solid finisher (Pyroblast on a 10/10 stick) and/or a board clear (most of the time). I can see this working on a deck built around it.
This artwork belongs on a freaking Warrior card, not a Mage.
This card will be dependent on what future Hero Power support cards we get, but the reward is pretty strong. This card makes Jan'alai look really bad, lol.
Probably not amazing, but definitely seems fun to play with.
Wild Mode awaits..
I think you're right about freeze, but also there are more hero power buffing cards now (and probably more coming) to just clear the board cleanly, and those also help this card proc
a free pryoblast, a body and the pryo hits minions too. If this drops for me I'll use it even if it turns out trash.
I think the cost and requirement balances the effect perfectly, for spending 20 mana at the worst on your hero power and 10 on the card, so long as you hit more than 3 targets, that's 4+ pyroblasts for the price of 3. VALUE! 5/5
4 Mana 7/7
I really hope I'll get a golden copy of this. Hero Power Mage is my favorite "new" archetype so far.
I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?
Harry James Potter-Evans-Verres, hpmor.com
Sick
I've been here a while; just hanging out in the background.
OP card. In Wild with odd mage
Uhh i just want to point out it costs 10 mana, ODD cost cards are 1-3-5-7-9 mana. Pretty sure you ment EVEN mage? (Even= 0-2-4-6-8-10 mana)
But yeh it's a very strong card! :)
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Interesting card for a new type of Mage, but at 10-mana I doubt it will be fast enough.
Even if it turns out to be bad, the feeling to Pyroblast all enemies is probably amazing
My bad, thanks for the heads Up
good, but in control vs control matches in hiper aggro meta, meh card
Hero power mage is Back! Also hero power Odd Wild Mage is looking strong.
At this point I have spent too much money on these games to quit.
Now pass me another pack, and lets see what I pull.
going to be hard to get this one to activate, but will be cool when it does... unless its against me, in which case boo
Looks so good, will definitely try to make this work
I really think this is going to be a strong card. If not, sure as hell a fun one to build around! Only if it was odd :D
Definitely going to be fun to play around with. With the right support (like Reckless Apprentice) the condition won't be hard to meet and, with the condition met, this card is insane.
good card
Kenny's little poet. 😇
Hero Power Decks are really boring. But I like build around legendaries
Doesn't go up to 11. 😢
I assume there will be some hero power boost or way to tap multiple times in a game. Otherwise this gon be too slow.
Love it already!
5 stars for the undead metalhead! I hope to try it at least for fun!
For The HORDE!
It seems to be slow, and not much value card, but IMHO 10 damage is not too much, and we can get nice battlecry
YESSSS YEAASSS!!!
Very interesting card with Wildfire, Fallen Hero, and Reckless Apprentice. Strong package, especially in Wild for Even Mage.
Arena > Wild > Standard
amazing like this card
Big Boy Finisher for Hero Power Mage. If you've got it ready, this almost always clears the board and does a heckuva lotta damage to the enemy hero. I like how he's shredding that axe in the picture.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
One of my favourite new cards, and the winner for the best card animation of the whole set
Probably not worth throwing into just any old Mage deck, but with a decent build around this could work as a good finisher and/or to turn a game around if you're behind. Overall, a pretty great card, in my opinion.
Awesome card
a little bit slow but ok
Even though it may not be a game-ender half of the time, it's still worth building up to it and along with all of the support for this, it's really not going to be that hard to activate. I'm excited to try this out.
I LOVE this card, although I believe it will underperform, lol.
Gonna use it on Spell Damage as finisher anyways.
Another go at hero power mage archetype. This is very strong with all the support the barrens brings.
Hero Power Mage is quickly becoming my favourite new deck. Love this as a finisher. I'm even tempted to just go all-in in Wild for the memes because they also have some great pieces that didn't make the Core Set.
Welcome to the site!
This is one of my new favourite cards this expansion if not overall :)
I like the Abiltiy, Flavour and the Art!
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
With Wildfire and Reckless Apprentice, I think this condition isn't going to be hard to accomplish. There might be a deck that runs 2 copies of both Conjure Mana Biscuit and Potion of Illusion to get 2 Mordeshs to play the following turn to push out thirty face damage, and the cherry on top is that Mordresh Fire Eye can be tutored with Taelan Fordring. I can easily see HP Mage becoming a deck because of this and Wildfire making your HP become a threatening tool.
For glory, honor, and gold!
