United in Stormwind is coming soon and with it, 135 new cards enter constructed play in Hearthstone. The launch of an expansion is a joyous time but it can also be stressful with so many new cards and decks to explore. Welcome to the Out of Cards United in Stormwind Survival Guide where we're going to make that introduction into Stormwind a little bit easier.
United in Stormwind Fast Facts
- 135 new cards have been added to the game - Visit our United in Stormwind Expansion Guide to see them all.
- New Keyword: Tradeable - Play the card like normal or swap it with a random one from your deck by paying 1 mana. (Learn More)
- There are three new flavor categories you will see some new cards in:
- Questlines - Legendary Quest spells with three parts!
- Mounts - Buff spells that summon a minion with the same stats and effect as the buff itself when the buffed minion dies.
- Professions - 0-Attack Weapons with special effects.
United in Stormwind Freebies
We've got a couple of freebies in United in Stormwind, including the early rewards track.
- Login to receive a Flightmaster Dungar legendary.
- Visit the rewards track to claim a free Lady Prestor legendary.
- Get to level 9, which doesn't take too long if you have your weeklies available, to unlock a total of 3 United in Stormwind packs.
Reminder: Sync Your Collection to Out of Cards Automatically
We've got a plugin available for Hearthstone Deck Tracker! You can use this plugin to automatically sync your collection which can help you find decks to play on the site with personalized crafting costs.
- You can access your collection manager by using your user dropdown on the site's navigation. Click "HS Collection".
- Collections are private and are not shared with other users.
- Calculations are performed in-browser to prevent the servers from melting.
What Are Questlines?
Questlines are legendary quests making a comeback to Hearthstone in a big way. These spells give you rewards over time as you complete each step and ultimately will summon a mercenary character with great power.
Below you can see the questline for Hunter and Mage.
What Are Mounts?
Some classes have received new cards that are called mounts. When these spells are cast, they buff a target minion with stats and provide it with an effect on death which summons a vanilla minion with the same stats that the previous card was buffed with. These are great tools to keep something sticky on the field, and Warlocks have some serious pain potential. Flavorwise, all of these mounts belong to different mercenary characters.
Here are examples of mounts for Druid and Warlock.
What Are Professions?
A few classes received new weapons that have zero attack. They are all themed after professions in World of Warcraft and will lose a durability after their effect is triggered. Here are a few examples of profession weapons.
United in Stormwind Diamond Cards
Diamond cards continue to make an appearance in Hearthstone as a part of the rewards track and achievements.
- Diamond Varian, King of Stormwind
- Instantly obtainable by purchasing the Tavern Pass and claiming the card on the Rewards track.
- Diamond Archbishop Benedictus
- Obtained by completing the United in Stormwind Legendary Collector 5/5 Achievement (Collecting 25 United in Stormwind Legendary cards).
Blizzard also fixed a bug in the patch with Diamond cards in the Duels mode. Diamond cards will always appear as Diamond in your runs instead of on just the first game - good fix!
New United in Stormwind Achievements
Blizzard has added a fresh batch of achievements to the game for United in Stormwind. If you're looking to farm experience, these have some great potential in helping you complete the rewards track earlier than by just playing games alone. You can check out all the new achievements here which includes those that do and don't reward experience.
Remember: Once the next expansion comes out, in November or December, United in Stormwind achievements will no longer reward XP, so do them while they are worth it!

It says the mounts leave a vanilla minion, but doesn't that mean no text, not even keywords?
Trying to complete the entire set achievement - whale I know - but when searching missing cards, I cannot find any. But according to the achievement page I am missing a neutral legendary. Anyone else with this problem?
Known Issue. There are problems with Flightmaster Dungar. They are working on it.
Seems like Varian, King of Stormwind is not counting toward the achievement. I got it when I opened packs early and it allows me to disenchant it for full dust for some reason.
Huzzah! The expansion cometh, and y'all have pulled off another reveal season in as fine a style as always. Pretty impressive, considering the shuttered card reveals and card reveal streams. Thanks for making it exciting.

I really appreciate how the diamond card put onto the track seems to intentionally be a competitively viable card. Makes the battle pass worth so much more than what you are charged.
Just a Huge Shoutout to Echo and the rest of the content squad for putting together all these questline and card reviews. I haven't even gotten through all of them yet! I can see a lot of work (and math) went into creating these guides. It just goes to show how dedicated you guys are to this site and the game. Shows real passion and care, which certain other sites 👀 lack

Thanks! It was fun doing all the math behind the questlines, except for DH. Playtesting for 4-5 hours where maybe like 3 and a half of it is spent shuffling Soul Fragments isn't my definition of fun, but the ends justify the means. Provided we see more cards that can get those types of breakdowns, expect more like them!
I've got 3 packs from Ranked rewards and 12200 gold burning a hole in my pocket... 125 packs at launch here I come! (My previous all-time high for total packs during an expansion was 127 with Forged, so I'm pretty pleased with this total)
Now to make sure my Pity Tracker excel spreadsheet is ready...
