The nerfs are here but did anything change? This weekend we are doing something different: we are taking a look at the best-performing Wild decks post-patch with the data of HSReplay and find out if Wild is still tormented by the same stuff than before.
DISCLAIMER: There's not a lot of Wild data yet post-patch so some strong decks might still be lurking under the radar.
Shadow Priest
Anduin - the new meta king? This deck is leading the pack in the Diamond-Legend ranks, and some similar lists are close by to suggest it's not just an anomaly. Some lists still run Irondeep Trogg, but otherwise the impact of Alterac Valley is nonexistent.
Pirate Warrior
Just a flesh wound, it seems. Despite the quest completion slowing down a bit, the winrate of Pirate Warriors has not tanked much. As it stands, the deck remains as one of the dominant forces of the format.
Combo Priest
Anduin isn't a one trick pony as this list makes it to top 3 lists (when excluding repeating archetypes) of the current stats. As there are no other combo lists to back this one's performance up, it's hard to say how viable the strategy actually is.
Mecha'thun Warlock
The archetype was already spotlighted by anchorm4n about a month ago in his Wednesday post, and now the stats are also suggesting it might be one of the decks to beat in this post-nerf meta.
Mecha'thun/Linecracker Druid
The above deck's cousin is the next one on the list, although it would seem like the primary win condition here is the Linecracker Armor combo. The much-hyped C'Thun Druid which shares a lot of similarities with this list narrowly missed out on the "best Druid deck" spot.
Quest Rogue
It returns! Quest Rogue is once again lifting its head above the surface with Ram Commander providing a backup option for Bloodsail Flybooter for the quest competion, as well as being a strong Rush token generator post-reward.
Menagerie Highlander Paladin
What was your budget again? If you got some nerf dust after the balance changes, it will be all gone if you choose to play this list. Although the deck almost seems like a 30 Legendary meme, I can promise that the stats do actually show a solid winrate in Diamond-Legend.

W-what is that mess of a shadow priest list, lol.
Surely that's not the 'best' list according to hsreplay?
Also, is shaman only a top legend thing? It really shouldn't be missing here.
I got legend with almost that exact same list in September, October and December (didn't play on November). You can now apologise to Swizard.
Memnarch got legend with seedlock that included Genn and Baku.
Whitedelight reaches 'high' legend with jank like big shaman all the time.
What's your point, exactly?
Shadow priest has been a weak part of the meta since Dark Bishop Ben was added, and that is totally how the deck looks. I honestly think picking Shadow Priest is counter productive is your goal is to hit legend (though, maybe you pick it because it is fun).
Freeze Shaman definitely should have made the cut, the most recent balance changes have been super favorable to it. Though, the nerf to Ignite Mage should hurt Freeze Shaman's WR as it was an incredibly favorable match up, and I do not think it helps that the deck does not have the most clear win condition for the average player to use.
I wouldn't call the deck weak, per se. It was better when it could farm mages but it's probably still serviceable.
I'm more so talking about the featured build. Deathrattle package over pirates? Lifedrinker and spawn of shadows?
Imagine you're a shadow priest and instead of winning on turn 4 you play a 3/3 or a 5/4. That list ain't it.
When sorting Wild decks by winrate (Diamond-Legend ranks), that exact list is still the best performing Shadow Priest with relatively many games played (66+ % winrate, 1100 games). The next two Pirate based lists have 62+% WR (710 games) and 61+% WR (1100 games). Weird things are weird.
Other changes since this post was written: Pirate Warrior is now #1 and the Combo Priest overtook its Shadowy brethren. A Token Druid list also popped up to claim the top Druid spot.
Oh, diamond-legend might explain it. Is there any data for top legend already?
Top 1000 legend only shows two decks in total so I would say no.
The Pirate versions do surpass this Shadow Priest though already at Legend, and Mecha'thun Warlock becomes the king (it's also the better one of the two decks shown at top 1000).
It's interesting how the Shadow Priest deck is literally the exact same list as I posted on Out of Cards several months ago. Does anybody know what caused it to catch on now? Did some streamer make a video on it? I was trying to promote it for months but it was at around 1.5% playrate max no matter what I did and now it's apparently over 8%.
The nerfs. Quest hunter was hard to beat, he removed everything you played pretty well. Warrior also cleared you easily with the bullshit luck of their second questline rewards. And no more mages that otk on turns 5 or 6. Basically only slow decks remain besides pirate warrior who also got slowed down.
