Heroic Brawliseum starts when Tavern Brawl begins in your region on Wednesday.
Heroic Brawliseum starts tomorrow, and if you're looking to get your reward on, you're going to want to be well-equipped to fight whatever comes your way. We're showcasing the best 5 decks on the Standard ladder right now to help you make a choice on what you want to take to the battle.
Since Heroic Brawliseum takes over the Tavern Brawl slot, there won't be a free pack tomorrow so if you're on the free-to-play side of things, sorry.
Keep in mind though that if everyone is playing the same meta decks, the best deckbuilders will play specific counters. It may be worthwhile to check out streams or even other decks people are creating here to get an idea of what is the most popular. Tech choices can go a long way when it comes to hitting 12 wins!
Disclaimer: Winrates are accurate as of September 21, 2020, and may change as more players play these particular decks.
Aggro Demon Hunter (58% Winrate)
Face Hunter (57% Winrate)
Totem Shaman (56% Winrate)
Guardian Druid (55% Winrate)
Libram Paladin (62% Winrate)
Why is this in last place if it has the highest winrate of the bunch? Because we're sneaky like that and wanted to let you know Libram Paladin can beat everything above.
Heroic Brawliseum Rewards
Here is the rewards breakdown based on your wins. Your break-even at 5 wins, with roughly 1000 gold worth of value out of the rewards. (1 Dust is roughly 1 Gold, a pack is 100 Gold)

So... the only thing I got from this event is miss on a free classic pack.
Awesome.
I have really mixed feelings about this one. On one hand, on my first heroic brawl I did 12 wins with Renolock and that marked a big "cash in" point for me, where I pretty much got all standard decks unlocked by the grand prize. On the other hand, 1000 gold or 10 dollar/euro mark is borderline cruel.
I can see the thrill of a big gamble, but truth be told, you only break even around 6 wins. And you only get enough gold for another run at 12 wins. So it's pretty cruel, since a vast majority of people will never be even close to 12 wins.
Once again, I'm passing this event: too-expensive-anti-meme-decks waste of time, resources and patience.
How dare they don’t cater to meme deckers in a competitive event...
They could have easily half the price, scale down the rewards accordingly and give every one a free ticket. That would have been something similar to an event and much more attractive to many players. But no, its Blizzard after all.
I think they'll do the first run for free again. And then zero games won give the weekly free pack.
I understand your desire to scale down the risk/reward, but I find it fun to have the occasional high stakes mode. It adds excitement, and games are more fun when they are exciting.
I was really tempted to try it since I had a lot of success with some off meta decks buuuut ..... the rewards are only satifying starting from 8 wins. Everything below is a loss imo. The chance of that happening is considerably lower than in arena, were the general skill level is much lower. Only really confident and strong players (along some gambling junkies) will play this mode.
Also keep in mind that you are trading 10 packs from the next expansion for Scholomance packs. That’s a bad deal since decks on day one of an expansion are way more valuable
I remember last time there was a free admission for the first run. I don't see anything about it, could someone please confirm/deny its coming back?
For the regular Brawliseum we got a free ticket, but not for the Heroic Brawliseum, if I recall correctly.
However, that was 3 years ago and Hearthstone has become more generous since then, so who knows what they'll do tomorrow.
I think they are well aware that giving away 1000 gold's worth generally means they wouldn't be in this year's finance department's Christmas cards.
A free ticket is not equivalent to giving away 1000 gold though: a ticket is only worth 1000 gold if the player is buying it and many people won't be playing this brawl if they don't get a free ticket.
I ran a simulation and got an average of 713 gold in rewards. So you could argue that a free ticket costs Blizzard about 700 gold. But that is under the assumption that people will play the same number of games: some people might play the same number of games they would have otherwise, but other people might play more, especially if they weren't sure they'd play at all without the free ticket. And every extra ticket sold takes about 300 gold out of the Hearthstone economy.
Then there is the question of how the rewards, especially as top-heavy as the distribution is, affect people's future purchases. For example, someone who disenchants the golden legendaries might buy fewer packs in the future, but someone who keeps them may not. If a F2P player gets a big reward, it won't cost Blizzard anything, since they weren't spending money anyway. Other players might have a more or less fixed budget for Hearthstone, and more freebies just means they'll have access to more cards.
1000g for most likely 1-3 packs? Thanks, I'll rather buy 10 then.
I cannot say how much I hate seeing Face Hunter on this list. It's a solid deck, I just hate seeing it.
Ah, the pyramid scheme brawl returns!
The arena scheme means that 50% of all players get 0,1 or 2 wins. The 5 wins break-even point is reached only by 15% and the really interesting rewards (from 10+ wins) only by 1% if I understand this chart correctly: https://hearthstone.gamepedia.com/Arena#Exact_sequence_of_matches
I'll chicken this one out, as I know my limitations ;)
If I were in charge, I’d make the first ticket free, charge 200 for the second ticket, and keep increasing it until the price maxed out at 1000. That way, everyone could participate until they got to the risk/reward level that was appropriate for them.
Blizzard would win in this situation, too. Sure, they’d probably give away more stuff, but they WANT to give stuff away in return for players’ time and money. That’s how F2P games work.
Also, this would encourage players of different skill levels to try it out. Only the top players are going to pay 1000 gold, and some of them will get crushed because they’re facing other top players from game 1. If you have a player base with different skill levels, everyone will be happier.
Give this man an administrative position! Seriously 3 paragraphs is more in tune than their entire team.
Amen to that! I'm hard passing on tomorrow's event.
