Was about to open a thread just for Making Mummies but I will post it here, in short I think the quest is the worst designed theme since freeze shaman, it's plain awful, has little flavor within the paladin class and makes no sense.
It's the only quest that requires you to use a set specific keyword so this quest compared to others won't get natural support from other sets and is parasitic and forced upon paladin and any card printed with reborn if any is directly linked to this quest mostly..
Looking at the reborn cards paladin got access to which is just 11 cards and one of those is a legendary so a maximum of 21 card slots to use for the quest maximum (by that I mean to complete the quest).
most of them are neutrals which are not very impressive I think you need around 10~ 12 card slots dedicated to reborn in your deck to complete the quest.
Sadly it's still running so there's a competition between the 2 sites.. this site is clearly higher quality but the traffic is split between the sites so we get less discussion here.
My thought exactly.. the paladin quest is the only one directly linked to a set specific keyword the rest of the quests can get further support in other sets reborn seems really just from this set and MAYBE another one or two inclusions in the future.
as well the quest is the most restricted you gto a pool of reborn minions to work with and you MUST choose from that pool, the battlecry pool is much larger and diverse than the reborn mechanic
I think the paladin quest is the worst designed quest this expansion for those reasons alone as well as probably being just bad unless there is some minion that if you copy it for 2 mana is game breaking.
The name of the year has nothing to do with the expansions in it.. it was like this since the rotation started, if there's a relation it's quite vague it was the most connected on the year of the kraken (WOTOG-> tentacles, MSOG-> pirates-> sea-> kraken stories) , so.. this doesn't mean anything this is just a name.
Control warlock got a lot of removal this expansion as well as tonnes of new zoo options, the fact that the zoo deck lost to priest doesn't mean zoo is bad, the list used in stream tried to showcase as many new cards as possible and is by no means optimal..
Zoo looks promising this time around with many new tools and sticky minions it can use as well as lackey synergies.
Control warlock although gaining more removal still seem to lack strong late game and the quest seem to be part of the plot twist deck which is fun and works well with reborn minions.
I think there should be some tinkering before you totally dismiss warlock the lackey synergies seem quite powerful.
maybe in highlander for zephyr? also there are many discover cards in highlander decks anyway, as well as being a well stated minion could make this card playable.
So.. the mystery choice is just a random spell? think this card is good btw it got the same effect as a lackey at a price you would pay for a lackey generator+ a lackey but better total stats.
it's this card just really powerful trading tool? also priest support with [Hearthstone Card (cabal shadowpriest) Not Found].
not sure though we saw such effects in solo content before and although it looks powerful it might not be.. on first glance looks really good, also elemental.
What I mean is that I think the effect is powerful but it's win more enough(You need to be attacking with minions AND wanting to trade) that it ends up seeing no play.
the best comparison I could find is C'Thun's Chosen I think that the lifesteal makes this card good I guess.. I know for sure a 4/2 with life steal for 3 is just bad we saw it in witchwood.. now with a 4/1 it spawns after it dies.. I am not sure if it's good enough.. quest paladin looks awful btw I feel like the support is lacking for that archtype.

In paladin I evaluate them as such:
5 stars: Murmy,Bone Wraith
4 stars: Micro Mummy, Temple Berserker
3 stars: Khartut Defender,Candletaker,Wrapped Golem
2 stars:Ancestral Guardian, Wasteland Assassin
1 star: Generous Mummy, Colossus of the Moon(potentially good in big shaman though),
I can just not see the deck coming together much it just doesn't feel very strong and the reborn class cards in paladin are not impressive really.
And I didn't even talk about the reward it just won't win the game very much the micro bot makes kangor's army worse

You are right, it compares poorly with goblin bomb generators..

cause those packs need flling and arena is a format
pack filler
more value for highlander decks
in the one hp paladin hyper aggro deck?
The totem stuff seems to be wild support mostly, or a set up for future expansions.. just there are not enough totem cards.
would be great if genn was still in standard though.

no, you would just swap your top card of the deck with theirs 3 times.
Underbelly Fence not broken at 2 mana
turn 1 quest completion with prep going second 2 prep 2 diguises , turn 2 3/2 immune weapon and 4 random none rogue spells in hand.
pack filler.
seems like too much of a meme, decent in arena in a none tempo driven meta.
