- Shaman decks in general are really bad. Either they simply dont draw the cards they need (because unhappily this is the only class with the weakest card draw and generation engine in the entire game) or their cards aren't up to snuff when they needed to be. I've tried control shaman, highlander, quest, galakrond, totem shaman and all of them falter in the same way; no card draw, running out of value, or having absolutely no tempo swing cards in the early game. The most broken thing you can actually play without dying in shaman right now is unironically [Hearthstone Card (magic trick totem) Not Found], which under most circumstances will either be ignored by poor players, or just go completely ham on board and allowing you to capitalize with Totemic Reflection into Splitting Axe.
Another decent thing you can do is to play Diligent Notetaker into Dragon's Pack. But nearly all the meta decks with the exception of mage on a poor day can deal with it handily, or simply kill you before you get the chance.
If you plan to play shaman at all, here's a handy tip. Go totem, doesn't matter what archetype. Somehow, someway, if you manage to cast totemic reflections successfully in the early game you are no longer guaranteed to lose that match. Go hard for either mana tide or magic trick totem if you can. Your opponent will be too busy trying to clear your board to focus on their game plan. Dont even bother with cards like Earthquake or Hagatha's Scheme; face decks and bomb warrior just laughs at your face, paladin has divine shield, and mage...well...simply generate more stuff. Instructor Fireheart is a must in all builds. Its just about the only saving grace for shaman thats not a totem.
I've been playing a Highlander-Galakrond Shaman for the past 2 Weeks or so
But I wouldn't say that Shaman doesn't have some good Stuff. There's Transformation- Effects that help against Libram Pally and Tempo Mage, and they have some good Healing/Removal against Face Hunter or Bomb Warrior.
Getting back on Board is a bit tough, but Stuff like 1 Mana Torrent or the whole Galakrond Package really help with that. When it comes to early removal, I found Lightning Bolt/Devolving Missiles + Diligent Notetaker to be efficient enough. Diligent Notetaker btw is probably, in my Opinion, one of Shamans best Cards at the Moment. Getting a second Hex or Earth Shock against Librams, another Round of Witch's Brew or simply another Far Sight is just really good.
The only Thing I'm really struggling against is Demon Hunter. Though I don't know if it's because it counters Shaman or because they have so much Burn and can club you to Death with 10 Attack out of Nowhere.
Couldn’t disagree more. A lot of people don’t even play ranked mode let alone winning games in it, So no you don’t just get 1k portraits by just playing the game.
Well, what I meant was that I can understand the Decision to not give the 1k-Wins-Portraits new Voicelines, since these are supposed to be Upgrades to your Standard Hero Portrait, like the golden Hero Power + Animation that you get from 500 Wins.
I mean, it would be really cool if they had unique Voiceslines. I'd support that.
My main Point was that it's stupid to sell Skins that offer effectively as much as these free Upgrades.
I just wonder why they thought not including new Voicelines would be a good Idea.
I can see why they didn't record new ones for the 1000-Wins-Portraits, since these are supposed to be Upgrades that you'll eventually unlock by just playing the Game, but not giving new Voicelines to a Skin that you can only get if you pay for it is just stupid.
I hope they wont rotate broken cards in this Time, IF they're doing a „Doom in the Tomb" - like Event again, and instead bring back some that underperformed. Like, maybe bring back the Rogue-Secrets from KnC, or the Un'Goro Quests?
It's funny, because I'm playing Wild (you know, that Mode that's supposedly unbalanced) and I actually have quite some Fun. I played mostly Control Priest, Highlander Shaman, Thief Rogue and Yogg Hunter, and eventually reached Legend last Month. I faced some of the Meta Stuff, like Quest Mage and that soon-to-be-nerfed Warlock Deck with Darkglare, but I also faced quite a lot of Control Warriors (Odd and DMH), Quest and Odd Shaman, some Paladins, Highlander Mages, other Thief Rogues, and Everything in between.
So, if you're frustrated with the State of Standard, maybe give Wild a Try?
Those that keep clicking the yellow kite on the Panderia board until it goes away and those that leave it flapping around like the idiots they are who are bad at life.
just my two cents.
Or maybe we just leave it alone, because we know, like any smart Person should, that Kites are at their happiest when they're flapping around in the Wind.
Btw, you can absolutely trust me on this. Some of my best Friends are Kites themself.
It's at least too good against Aggro rn. T2, play this, steal a Druid's Lightning Bloom, puke your Hand on the Board, give them some useless 5+ Mana AoEs, and leave them with Nothing after all that is just way too crippling.
I mean, I fucking love it, but admittedly, it's quite unfun to lose the Game just because someone played a specific Card on Turn 2.
I'm just glad that the Change to Mindrender Illucia isn't too harsh. The Card will be weaker against Aggro, but, as long as I can disrupt Combos efficiently, I have absolutely no Problem with that.
I'm excited to hear what they'll do with the Basic/Classic Set. If they're going to bring back some older Cards, I really hope we'll see Whizbang the Wonderful again.
Well, It's good to know that they're listening to the Feedback they are receiving over this Topic. I hope the Devs can figure out a System that satisfies the Players AND is profitable to them.
HS has been doing great Improvements over the past couple Expansions regarding F2P-Friendliness, would be a real Shame if they'd take two big Steps back.
I like what they did to Priests Core Sets, so further Changes to Basic and Classic sound interesting.
If I had to take a Guess, I'd say Paladin is the Class they're looking into the most. That one has had a lot of Identity Crisis over the Years, a Revamp would really help.
I absolutely did not expect High Abbess Alura to be this popular. Apparently, cheating out Buffs is good enough rn.
I doubt though that her Playrate will stay like that. When the Decks will be more refined and the Meta settles, she probably won't be a Problem due to Removal.

I can agree that Card Draw/Generation is an Issue for slower Shaman Decks, which is why you almost always have to run Instructor Fireheart, Mana Tide Totem, Far Sight or even Marshspawn.
But I wouldn't say that Shaman doesn't have some good Stuff. There's Transformation- Effects that help against Libram Pally and Tempo Mage, and they have some good Healing/Removal against Face Hunter or Bomb Warrior.

I'm having similar Issues. Delays, random Disconnections and Matches not loading.
Well, I didn't say that it won't take some Time.

So, no Wild Cards coming back for some Time?
That sucks, but it's understandable, considering that „Doom in the Tomb" wasn't a big Success.
Thank God that stupid Card is gone!
One less unfun/uninteractive Combo Deck for Mage.
I hope they wont rotate broken cards in this Time, IF they're doing a „Doom in the Tomb" - like Event again, and instead bring back some that underperformed. Like, maybe bring back the Rogue-Secrets from KnC, or the Un'Goro Quests?
Or what about Tri-Class Cards?
Is the Meta in Standard really that sucky rn?

That Darkglare Nerf was really needed! Getting clubbed to Death by 4 Giants on T4/5 isn't a lot of Fun.
The Nerf to Secret Passage probably won't do much. 1 Mana draw 4 is still fantastic.

The one and only:
I think Nocturne is getting obliterated by Exodia.

That Kael'thas Sunstrider is probably long overdue.

Hell, yeah! I like seeing Card Art getting some love!
I never liked golden Boarders. They're so boring, every Card looks the Same!
I like what they did to Priests Core Sets, so further Changes to Basic and Classic sound interesting.
