  • It's the new Spiteful Summoner, but I don't think any class other than Druid or Hunter would think of playing it. Druids can ramp up to it pretty quickly, while some streamers are already building some minion-heavy Hunter decks with Nagrand Slam and Guardian Animals as their only spells to take advantage of Primordial Protector. But other than that, no, I don't think this card is broken, and I'll be surprised to see it nerfed.

  • It's definitely gonna be nerfed as soon as this week. It's the first week of an expansion and my friends list is dead. I'm guessing they got tired of the Deck of Lunacy meta already, which is unusual.

I've tinkered a bit with the deck myself only because I have Deck of Lunacy and the deck itself is pretty cheap, so why not. It's incredibly powerful. I went 20-16 with it, but there was a point when I won 10 straight games and most of my losses were to other Lunacy Mages who were just luckier than me with their draws and highrolls.

And that's the most frustrating thing about that deck: it's powerful yet very random. There's really no gameplay or planning involved between two players; either one who draws Deck of Lunacy first probably wins, and opponents facing the deck have no way of knowing what to expect once that card is played, so it turns in a clown fiesta. It's bad for ladder when a card that's obviously meant to be a meme is dictating the meta right now, and no wonder people are pissed. It got boring to play after a while because of the randomness.

  • Currently feeling good with this Control Priest deck list I got from Dekkster (he got it from another streamer, I think), I'm 8-1 with it so far. He said it's a real Mage-killer, and so far it is. It's currently 3-1 against Mages, with the lone loss due to the Mage having the nuts with all his burn spells in hand. Other than that, I can just heal myself back up anytime I want, and the deck's got multiple removal tools that allow me to outlast any opponent, even the most bonkers Mage turn. I beat two who played Deck of Lunacy on turn 1 or 2, and boy does it feel good.

  • I only reached up to level 102 in the last rewards track, so I'm gonna make it a point to reach all levels this time around. Gotta get that gold for my F2P ways from now on.

Started playing again last night and reached up to level 19. Can't wait to see what my random legendary at 20 will be.

I'm gonna buy the tavern pass again, I want that diamond Blademaster Samuro. The hero portraits look awesome too (except for the Rokara ones, ew).

UPDATE: Got Tavish Stormpike as my level 20 legendary, ugh. I always get the ones I don't want or have no intention of playing. Last expansion, I got Deck of Chaos -_-

  • Had a hilarious stroke of luck while playing Lunacy Mage. I was facing a Hero Power Mage, and my opponent had gotten me down to 8 health. I had a wide board threatening lethal, but I knew he was gonna drop Mordresh Fire Eye the next turn and I had no way of stopping it. Resigning myself to a defeat, I just played the Trick Totem I got from Font of Power and hoped for the best.

Lo and behold, the Trick Totem healed me with Flash Heal, taking my health out of reach of Mordresh's damage.

Saved by a Trick Totem, who would've guessed lol

  • Opened 100 packs from in-game gold, and only got 4 legendaries.

    Kurtrus Ashfallen

    Mordresh Fire Eye

    Scabbs Cutterbutter

    Xyrella

Oh well, at least they're the powerful ones. I might buy the tavern pass and one of the bundles they release, hopefully they still include free legendaries in those.

  • Congratulations to the winners! And thanks to OoC for organizing this giveaway, hopefully there'll be more in the future.

I can't stress how happy I am to know about the disqualifications. Seeing a number of users spam the card threads with "solid" and "good" replies was just super annoying.

  • If the effect is it summons a murloc, this would be pretty playable. Unfortunately it's a draw effect which doesn't happen until the next turn, allowing your opponent ample time to remove it. This doesn't fit aggressive murloc game plans, it seems like a waste of two mana.

  • Must-include in Elemental decks, though it's been a while since we've seen a tribal deck thrive in the meta. I don't think elemental decks are gonna be good all of a sudden, so I'll be surprised if this sees play. Maybe for Grand Finale Mage?

  • This is crazy good. Warrior just keeps getting more and more board clears.

Whirling Combatant is another good resurrect target for Overlord Saurfang, together with Stonemaul Anchorman and Blademaster Samuro. This will probably compete with Sword Eater as Warrior's best 4-drop, though I think the latter is still better.

  • A very good card if it manages to clear the board since you can gain up to 14 armor, that'll make this a better Holy Nova. But that's a big if. Still, I think it's on the solid side, just another tool for Control Warrior decks to play around with. I dare say it'll see play if a strong control deck emerges.

  • I'm really surprised that this doesn't have overload. That's a lot of stuff to put in a 1-drop; its 2-health means it can survive two pings, and it leaves another 1/1 behind. Because of that added health it's a better Mecharoo, which saw a LOT of play back in the day.

  • That's a solid card if I ever saw one. Good inclusion in any midrange Shaman deck. Mini-AOE on top of a thicc body for a 4-drop is pretty good.

  • Rogue just keeps getting these strong to broken cards. Foxy Fraud, Swindle, Nitroboost Poison, Scabbs Cutterbutter, Paralytic Poison, and now Field Contact...wow. Zeddy's recent video rant about the class was on point.

Field Contact just looks like an auto-include for fast Rogue decks, which is most Rogue decks anyway. Cheating this out withScabbs Cutterbutter then drawing numerous cards on the same turn just has the potential to win the game on the spot. Just incredibly good.

  • One of the more solid minions in the entire set, and one of the best frenzy minions. You're getting immediate value for this at 5-mana; it'll remove something most of the time, and you'll draw a card in the process. That's a great tempo swing.

Oh and it's got the pirate tag, so it's another minion to include in a potential Menagerie Warrior. Since I unpacked N'Zoth, God of the Deep recently, I might try giving that archetype a try.

  • Rat Trap reincarnated, but this just feels weaker. At least the minion summoned from Rat Trap was a massive 6/6. I don't care much for a 3/4 with taunt, which is just bad in the mid to late game.

  • Well well well, looks like we have our tutor for Invigorating Sermon. But that's not even the best card that Knight of Anointment can draw, given how Librams are supposedly gonna have the Holy tag as well. This will be ridiculously good, as if Librams needed enough support.

  • More fuel for Guardian Animals. Very solid card that Druid decks could surely use.

  • Summoning a minion for free is often good, but I just don't know with this card. It seems slow for the game plan it appears to be pushing. I have to say I'm not too hyped with these caravan cards given the prevalence of rush minions.

  • That is some very imaginative design, threading the line between meme and oppressive. I think this will be a meme card in standard, but I dunno in Wild...there are just lots of ways for Druid to abuse this in Wild. We'll see.
