  • An 8/8 Edwin VanCleef for my opponent on turn 2. He accomplished this by playing Foxy Fraud then Shadowstepping it, so he actually had 11/10 stats on board by turn 2.

Dear Lord, I can't wait for Edwin to be HOF'd in the next standard rotation...

Only real downsite is, that this isn`t a neutral card. :(

Majority of decks (non-aggro ones at least) will run Tickatus if it's a neutral, which will severely hurt control decks in the meta. I'm thankful this isn't a neutral card.

  • Having unpacked Arch-Villain Rafaam a month ago, I'll definitely give this meme a spin!

  • I'm currently at level 43, which is not bad considering I take days off at a time. I mostly play on Mondays and Tuesdays now so I can do finish the daily and weekly quests in one go. Capping the XP at 5,000 per level from level 37 is great, it doesn't feel as daunting to overcome.

I have 7,670 gold so far, I still don't know what to spend it on (maybe more packs, or for the next expansion). I'm sitting at 10,000 dust too, which is what's left after I crafted Reno Jackson and Kazakus from the dust from my golden Dinotamer Brann. Time to take Wild seriously.

I've been having solid success with a Mill Warlock in Standard. I aim to draw Tickatus with either The Dark Portal or Jepetto Joybuzz, and sometimes copy him with Felosophy. Even at full cost I can corrupt him with Galakrond or Twisting Nether. Then Y'Shaarj, the Defiler comes in for round 2. Deck features tons of removal and healing. Yogg-Saron, Master of Fate for the lolz.

Ugh, I faced a similar deck in standard. My opponent played Dark Portal on 4, Felosophy on 5, then by turn 6 dropped two 1-mana Tickatus to burn 10 cards from my deck. I hated it, but I respected the effort to make my life miserable :D

  • Why do I keep playing this game? 70% of the time it only brings me misery. I suffered a 9-game losing streak today and I just feel terrible.

Honestly, I think I hate this game and the only reason I keep playing it is because I hate myself equally and this is my way of punishing myself. Fml

  • So I made a Highlander Mage deck and tried it out in Ranked.

Guess what I faced? Three straight Shamans that all had Custodian on 2, with the weapon equipped by turn 4 or 5.

Game over after that, of course.

Fuck Shamans. Anyone playing that braindead deck is a fucking degenerate.

  • So...what are the snowflakes for? Is there an announcement coming soon? :D

  • Wow, I didn't expect that Dinotamer Brann nerf at all. But it's all good, my golden copy of it is loving this. Looks like I'll get enough dust to craft two new legendaries. Thanks, devs!

  • I sure hope the level 50 portraits will be made available in the upcoming expansions. It would suck to only be able to obtain 1 out of those 10, even though I don't really like most of them.

Right now, I'm torn between the Gul'dan and Valeera. I'm leaning towards Gul'dan even though I don't really play much Warlock because the portrait just looks so cool, while Valeera is an option simply because there's a scarcity of Rogue portraits.

  • This is how busted Aggro Demon Hunter is: I was playing a Bomb Warrior deck and for the first 7 turns, I drew nothing but my removal tools (Sword and Board, Minefield, Brawl, Bladestorm, Coerce, Deathwing, Mad Aspect) so I was able to prevent my opponent from gaining any tempo whatsoever. Whenever he played a minion, I killed it. When he dropped 3-4 minions, I just Brawl-ed or Bladestorm-ed it away. I made it past turn 7 and he only had 1 card in his hand from that point on, so that should mean I've stabilized. Most aggro decks would be out of gas and just concede by that point.

Except my opponent STILL almost beat me. He got me down to as low as 3 health (granted, I had to trade off his minions with my face at times), and I only survived because my Deathwing, Mad Aspect managed to stay on the board for 3 turns. If it wasn't for that, my opponent would've eventually drawn enough damage to kill me with.

Aggro Demon Hunter is just so strong that it sometimes doesn't even matter if you draw your removal tools just when you need them. I played and drew my cards as perfectly as could be expected against an aggro deck, and it almost wasn't enough. It just seems like there's no surviving against this deck unless you either a) armor up with the Risky Skipper + Armorsmith combo, which is busted as well, or b) you somehow manage to kill him first. The deck just has so much draw and damage that it's not even funny.

  • It's kind of shocking that there haven't been any nerfs announced yet. The meta is incredibly imbalanced right now: Demon Hunter has two of the strongest decks in Aggro DH and Soul DH, with Control Warrior as their only reliable counter. Highlander/Face Hunter and Pure Paladin are the only other classes that can conceivably win in this meta. Shamans seem to have curiously dwindled, I haven't faced many Evolve Shamans over the past few days.

What's worse is that the highlights of the new expansions aren't even making an appearance in the meta. The new Old Gods are impossible to play because of how slow they are, and the shiny new legendaries that people were hyped about during card reveals (Tickatus, The Nameless One, High Exarch Yrel, etc.) haven't really had an impact as well.

What are the devs waiting for? DH needs to be scaled back significantly since according to the latest VS report, there are four dead classes right now (Druid, Mage, Warlock, Priest) since they can't keep up with DH's power. As if the battle pass uproar isn't enough, this imbalanced meta is driving people away from the game even more. My friends list has been dead for days now, very few are logging in...

  • I just had a game that reminds me again to never concede, even when facing almost certain death.

I've had my ETC Control Warrior opponent on the ropes the whole game as a Soul DH, and I whittle him down to 2 health with my Il'gynoth, Bladed Lady, and Spirit Jailer on the board. Just when I think I've won, he manages to draw the last piece of his OTK combo and develops the board that will kill me and win him the game. I should've conceded once he dropped E.T.C., God of Metal right? Just another Control Warrior that managed to survive my onslaught of face damage.

Except my opponent runs his first rush minion straight into my Il'gynoth, effectively killing himself with the damaging lifesteal. You could say he killed himself with his own combo. Thanks, man!

Agreed. I can't believe they gave DH a cheaper duskbreaker with an easier condition to meet.

It's really is annoying how DH in general have access to way too many things. Soul DH is just not interactable for most of the game.

Most of their tools are improvements on what other classes have.

Consume Magic - a better Silence, since it has the upside of drawing you a card

Shardshatter Mystic - on par with [Hearthstone Card (Dusk Breaker,) Not Found] one of the best cards ever printed

Priestess of Fury - pre-nerf version was arguably a better Ragnaros the Firelord because its damage is distributed, and it's cheaper

    Except that:

Consume Magic costs 1 more, and the card draw is conditional

Shardshatter Mystic requires you to draw and play another card beforehand which is much harder that just holding a dragon

Priestess of Fury unlike Ragnaros sucks at dealing with big minions

Re: Consume Magic, it's all about the upside. You'd be more comfortable putting it in your deck than Silence since the upside of drawing a card renders its higher cost negligible. If you made the argument that Consume Magic can only target enemy minions you'd probably have a case, but silencing your own minions isn't really part of the DH class's gameplan.

Re: Shardshatter Mystic, it's probably still a smidge worse than Duskbreaker, but it's really not that hard to activate it considering  the cheaper Spirit Jailer and Soul Shear exist which curves right into Mystic. The only drawback is if you somehow don't draw any soul fragment-shuffling cards or if you run out of soul fragments in your deck (which only happens if you have really rotten luck or if you mulligan wrong), which poses almost (emphasis on "almost") the same problem as not having a dragon in hand for Duskbreaker

Re: Priestess of Fury, well, Ragnaros the Firelord sucks at dealing with wide boards. The point is that pre-nerf Priestess was cheaper and could even be cheated out with Raging Felscreamer, and its potential to either clear your opponent's board or deal 6 damage to the face makes it more versatile. I think that makes Priestess better despite Ragnaros easily having a higher power level (8 damage is no joke).

Aldrachi Warblades - honestly one of the best weapons in the game considering all the synergies it has with DH's attack-giving spells

Skull of Gul'dan - even at 6 mana, it's probably still in the top 3 most powerful cards in the game right now. It's the best drawing tool over anything the other classes have to offer.

I could go on. Demon Hunter as a class is just soooo busted, even after there have been 10+ nerfs to the class already since it entered the game.

I just hit level 25. Got the Totem... The frigging Totem... So i got nothing on level 25 as i have no use and no interest in this card. Getting legendaries completely at random like this is starting to feel terrible because i'm already used to the Wild Cards and freedom of choice in Legends of Runeterra.

The devs really should think about just giving us arcane dust as a reward instead of a random legendary. It would've been better if the level 25 reward was 2,000 dust or something, so players can be free to craft whatever they want, whether they be one legendary and an epic, four epics, etc. I got Deck of Chaos from level 25 which is just terrible (threw it in my Cubelock deck for Wild where it's still a terrible inclusion).

In fact, the level rewards should be much more diverse and generous like the old legendary quests we used to have. Remember quests that reward us with a pack, dust, and gold at the same time? Getting a single pack at level 28, an AOO one that just gave me 40 dust, is really depressing.

I feel you on Grand Totem Eys'or. If you'd gotten it earlier maybe you'd have enjoyed it more, since it was really dominant in the first week. I got it from a golden pack, so I can dust it whenever I want :P

  • Demon Hunter has to be nerfed. Soul DH is probably the perfect deck: it has incredible burst damage, great survivability with soul fragments and lifesteal weapons, and probably the best board clears and early-game removal in the meta right now (Blade Dance, Shardshatter Mystic, Soul Shear, Soulciologist Malicia). This deck has very few weaknesses, and it can even beat its weaknesses (Pure Paladin, Control Warrior) if it could get a well-timed Il'gynoth hit to the face.

My guess for the nerfs would be:

    1) Blade Dance - maybe 3 mana?

    2) Shardshatter Mystic - up to 4 mana

    3) Soulshard Lapidary - deal 4 damage instead of 5

    4) Bladed Lady - make it cost X less instead of making it cost (1)

Apparently, there is a control deck in standard right now. ETC Warrior turns out to be a real powerhouse. Don't give up after failing miserably the first few tries. For me, this guide turned out to be really helpful.

Compared to the degeneracy of token druid, aggro demon hunter, libram paladin, or totem shaman what is this deck going to do? Nothing.

According to the latest Vicious Syndicate report, ETC Control Warrior is neck-and-neck with Soul Demon Hunter as the most meta-defining deck so far, with the potential to even be the best deck in the game once it's refined. And yes, it's still unrefined. It crushes aggro (ESPECIALLY Demon Hunters) and can pull wins out of nowhere against other control decks with its OTK combo. It's a pretty unique deck.
