There might be a refreshed Core Set and a brand new expansion, but at the center of it all our reliable speedy dragon Nozdormu the Eternal still remains with the same coat of paint. Which is pretty much what we've expected to find come the rotation; barring any sudden redesigns. Since there is also a fresh Rewards Track in town, having the bonus XP available comes in handy for achieving these early levels.
Currently active in all regions, the quest arrives at an opportune time this soon after the release of Voyage to the Sunken City. Even if Nozdormu is not going to become best friends with all these strange Mechs, Pirates, or Naga. Can dragons even swim well? Apparently so!
Easter Nozdormu
Nozdormu the Eternal is an integral part of the Core set (now with the 2022 tag, following the recent Standard rotation), always there when you need to practice your 'speed Hearthstone' skills:
- As long as you have one quest slot open come server reset in your region on the 15th of each month, the Nozdormu quest will replace your regular quest of the day. It grants a lot more bonus XP, making it a worthwhile pursuit!
- This quest can also be rerolled away for a typical lesser one, if you really can't stand it. But Nozdormu will be very sad, and you will lose out on your precious Rewards Track XP.
- In order to be eligible, simply remove a non-crucial card from one of your favorite decks and replace it with Nozdormu the Eternal. It's not like anyone remembers to switch back after they're done.
- Queue up for a game with your 'new' deck in any relevant game mode of choice and hopefully encounter another player with Nozdormu in their deck, then have fun playing 'Speedstone'!
- You don't necessarily have to complete the quest as soon as you get it (it will actually remain in your log until refreshed), but there will likely be far fewer people trying to do the same later on.
- Winning or losing doesn't really matter for the quest completion, and opponents don't need to have Nozdormu the Eternal in their decks for it to count on your side - but just like with any other 'Play 3 games' quests, instant conceding won't add to overall progress.
If you're trying to take your blitzing semi-seriously and not just queue up and go AFK for a while as the quest 'completes itself', then as usual we recommend going for any decks that aren't reliant on long combos or performing multiple actions in a single turn. Simplicity is the key, as any flashy, slow animations or Discover choices aren't particularly desirable (unless you happen to have lighting speed reflexes). 15 seconds is all you get to work with here!
Finding somebody who has also put Nozdormu the Eternal into their deck isn't such a common occurrence nowadays, especially on Ranked ladders (it's only 3 games per month for most players, after all). You can consider yourself quite lucky when you do, and should enjoy those turns storming by - it's possible to tell whether the effect is in play as soon as the mulligan phase wraps up.
Current Tavern Brawl
Nothing for our dragon in there, as it's all pre-constructed decks with new Sunken City recipes.
The Honor event is no longer a thing either (unless you settle for the achievement workaround for yourself), so there is more reason to want to revisit the Casual Mode with Noz once again. Unless you really wish to climb them ladder ranks at the same time.
Nozdormu Day Decks for April 2022
It's a new Standard rotation, and nothing is really settled after merely a few days. We know of a few options that work more or less fine, but perhaps a month from now all these lists will be very different. This is as good an opportunity as any to homebrew something with Nozdormu the Eternal just tagging along!
And there is also that deck from Trimutius, on the Wild side of things. Specifically tailored for Nozdormu and his Dragon companions. The new expansion might not've brought particularly worthwhile toys in this case.
Got any new swift decks where it feels like Nozdormu the Eternal simply belongs? Completing the quest as quickly as possible in Casual mode or trying to climb the ranks? Let us know whether you've had any luck running into some Nozdormu faithfuls in any game mode this month!

Place a Noz in any deck, auto-complete, then pop in on Casual and let it sit.
I have find none using noz :(
I have yet to find a single other person who's playing Noz even once. Sigh.
I always appreciate these posts. Happy Noz Day everyone :)
Went into Casual to try and be as annoying as possible with Nozdormu + Abyssal Curses + Nemsy:
I certainly do the 3) a lot on my DH! Somehow it fits well for that quest. Although usually in Wild.
And I just had a game bug out so that my opponent could have their turn, but I didn't get my turn because the fuse was stuck. So I lose.
Same thing happened in the second game.
Small indy company.
Noz Face Hunter worked great for me last year, but I’m not feeling it with the new cards. 3 losses in Ranked Standard - I ran out of steam in 2, and never had a chance against a Switcheroo Priest.
Yeah, I think it's very unrefined for the time being. Maybe doesn't even currently have what it takes post-rotation to be the Face deck we used to know.
I was thinking about Gone Fishin' in my deck, but it doesn't seem to be better than any cards I am already running
