Just a short while after the first-ever Mercenaries limited time event, featuring Chi-ji and its companions, Team 5 is back at it with another one. This time, we'll venture into many dangerous Bounty zones with the aid of Leeroy Jenkins, an iconic World of Warcraft player and one of Hearthstone's fan favorite cards of all time.

As you can see, these tasks are quite the mixed bag: while some are fairly simple to complete, others require more than a bit of thinking (and luck: that one's always welcome) and planning ahead.
Moreover, certain tasks clearly state that you need Comps consisting on Mercenaries belonging to specific races in order for your progresses to count: the Chi-Ji event was about Beasts and Dragons, and this time you'll need the help of Orcs, Humans and Dragons.
Not all challenges might be as difficult as they seem at a glance: there are usually tips and tricks to be found to make everyone's lives easier. In this series of guides we'll take a look at how to complete each event Task, so that you'll be able to get your hands on all the rewards available. As of now, we'll focus our attention on our current task.
In case you missed them, if you click the banner below you'll have access to each of our task guides for this event.

How to Complete the "Do We Have A Soulstone?" Task from the Leeroy Jenkins Event
- Requirement: Complete Heroic Kazakus, Golem Shaper Bounty with at least 3 Dragons in Alterac Valley.
- Rewards: 70 Leeroy Jenkins Coins, 50 Kazakus, Golem Shaper Coins, 25 Random Coins.
- Difficulty: 3/5
Probably one of the most intricate Leeroy tasks, and for a multitude of reasons:
- The Kazakus, Golem Shaper bounty can be quite difficult to handle.
- The task explicitly requires us to complete it in Heroic mode.
- We have to own at least three Dragons, which isn't something guaranteed for everyone, given that most of them are Epic or Legendary.
As we can see, we can think of a few possible combinations, but before that let's focus our attention on the Kazakus bounty's final fight. As you can see from the picture below, Kazakus, Golem Shaper is going to appear as a Caster together with two neutral Dragon Golems.
Each of these units has some surprises. Once the fight starts, Kazakus, Golem Shaper will immediately try to transform into its Dragon form with [Hearthstone Card (True Form!?!? 5) Not Found], an 8-speed ability that grants it even more health and also deals a 25 damage AoE to your Mercenaries. Once Kazakus, Golem Shaper is able to do so, the fight will inevitably become harder, but there's a way to ensure it will happen as late as possible.
[Hearthstone Card (True Form!?!? 5) Not Found] [Hearthstone Card (Backlash 5) Not Found] [Hearthstone Card (Tail Swipe 5) Not Found]
Kazakus, Golem Shaper's moveset.
The two Dragon Golems, on the other hand, are relatively easy to take down, as attacking them will ensure Critical Damage upon further damage dealt in the same turn. However, they have quite the obnoxious set of abilities, as both [Hearthstone Card (Frenzied attack 5) Not Found] and especially Doubling can give you a really bad headache.
[Hearthstone Card (Crazed Flurry 5) Not Found] [Hearthstone Card (Frenzied attack 5) Not Found]
Dragon Golem's moveset.
Given that Kazakus, Golem Shaper is your #1 priority, the best approach to this fight consists in putting together a team that can do one or more of the things listed below:
- Get access to high amount of burst damage in relatively no time - a glass cannon, we might say.
- Boast strong Fighters that will purge Kazakus, Golem Shaper in no time.
- Freeze on command, so that [Hearthstone Card (True Form!?!? 5) Not Found] will be delayed by some time.
Now, here's a list of all the Dragon Mercenaries that are currently available for party-building:
- Protectors: Alexstrasza, Deathwing, Yu'lon.
- Fighters: Nefarian, Sinestra.
- Casters: Brightwing, Long'xin, Onyxia.
When building our party, we have to take in consideration that the 3 Dragons we're going to include won't necessarily be the cornerstone of our comp: they may as well be benchwarmers of another trio that will take care of the entire climb and the final fight.
Being Protectors, Alexstrasza, Deathwing and Yu'lon are on the weak side for this task, while Nefarian, Sinestra (so good), Brightwing, Long'xin and Onyxia and more fit to the challenge.
Suggested Comps
Here are a few Mercenaries parties you can use to complete the "Do We Have A Soulstone?" task. You'll be able to choose between many comps, suggested by different content creators, as well as mentions of budget alternatives for our readers that don't have many Legendary Mercs in their collection.
Out of Cards Recommendation - Fire Comp
Our suggestion is to bring your 3 Dragon as support to another archetype, and the Fire one to be specific. Balinda Stonehearth provides both Fighter damage and Fire Weakness, which are going to do wonders against Kazakus, Golem Shaper. Ragnaros isn't the best possible Merc for this final fight, but its Blazing Rune makes it still worth it.
To prove this comp of being fit for this task, we actually recorded a video showing you that you can pull this off with ease.
A few notes:
- Balinda Stonehearth's Lesser Water Elemental 1 moves faster than Kazakus, Golem Shaper, so you can actually Freeze it and delay [Hearthstone Card (True Form!?!? 5) Not Found] by at least one turn (two if it's upgraded enough).
- Whenever someone (probably Ragnaros) dies, replace it with Sinestra, a great source of Fighter Damage.
- Twilight Extinction 1 is as exceptional as always.
Sk8erBoizzz's Orc Comp - Task 8 Leeroy Jenkins Event
As already mentioned, another good way to approach this fight is going heavy with Fighter synergy, and Orcs provide lots of it.
Old Guardian's Buget Comp - Task 8 Leeroy Jenkins Event
If your Mercs library is not particularly wide, worry not, as Old Guardian published a budget comp to clear the Kazakus Heroic bounty with: it will probably take you more turns than a meta party, but we think you still have decent chances to get the job done.
- Climbing comp: either Yu'lon-Sinestra-Brightwing Lady Anacondra-Bru'kan-Guff Runetotem, depending on what colors you're against.
- Final fight comp: Lady Anacondra-Bru'kan-Guff Runetotem.

Comments
Whew! Finally got this one with the budget nature comp.
Let's go scramble some eggs!
After I faileing two times with OG's budget comp. I tried with a mix of OG's comp with the Dragons for climbing and of sk8erboiz' Orcs for the boss fight. Accidentialy I used my underleveled Galvangar instead of Saurfang. After losing Yulon during the climb and Brightwing in the very last moment before the boss, I thought it was over. During one fight I was about to retire, because despite of my healing the AI could kill one of my Orcs. But it misplayed and didn't focus.
During the boss fight I threw everything on Kazakus and even suicided my Orcs. After that Sinestra was able to solo the adds. Was very hard for me.
I thought we needed humans and orcs, not dragons...
Anyway, let's do it!
Major KUDOS to Avalon for all the great Mercenaries content recently!
Pro-tip for those of you working on these tasks (or any challenging bounties): you can reroll the map! Scan ahead for elite encounters, mysteries, etc, and if it doesn't look good, retire and try again! This is especially helpful for the Smuggler Speedrun, where you really want to avoid elite battles, as well as skipping as many as possible to cut the total number of turns. I always do this when I have a daily task to hit those Boon Coins.
Thanks!
Is it me or is this article unfinished? The YT link at the bottom should show a clickable video, right? And what of the list of Protectors, Fighters, and Casters? Currently, those are empty with a big gap.
This wasn't supposed to be live yet =)
Ah yes, looks spectacular now. Great job @Avalon
